Understaffed & continued seating one waiter with half the restaurant knowing it was physically impossible for him to serve that many people. The waiter Matt was personable when he did have time to tend to us. We were literally walking to get our own drink refills. Restaurant splits tips between all servers which is a terrible practice and does not encourage good service. Toppings like black olives were chopped up into tiny pieces that you could not taste, likely to increase profits. The crust was like eating cardboard. Sauce is too sweet for my liking as noted by others. I paid for someone else's ticket and told them to make sure they didn't charge her. Despite not being able to find her ticket, they made her pay again and she had to return to get a refund. When I called on my cell to discuss, they were rude and dismissive about it and never apologized. Very thankful I don't live here and have amazing pizza joints at home! To the owner, had no intention on writing a review until you or your staff was rude when calling to discuss the double charge. Other negative reviews have said the owner here is rude to staff and customers. Unusual number of security cameras throughout the restaurant. My family and I went to this establishment this evening for dinner. We got two pizzas and some drinks and over priced frozen cheese fries. We honestly discussed if our drive there was worth it as we were eating due to the overly sweet sauce. Other reviews had stated it was sweet but wow! My clincher was the way the manager came out and spoke to one of her staff. She came to the waitress yelling and told her they were making a sign on Monday and if they didn't do whatever she wanted them to do they would be fired! I have worked in several restaurants and I have never had a manager speak to me the way she yelled at that lady! And not to mention wouldn't you take your staff in a private area to reprimand them? We arrived to find the place packed with a short wait for a table. However, it was all worth it. They know how to make a pizza. The pizza has some potential to be at least palatable, but they use some sweet-tasting sauce that is just awful. I've been coming to Evaroni's for years and it's always been my family's favorite pizza place. Tonight however, we were slightly disappointed. At 8:00, we looked up the hours online and it said they close at 9:30. We decided to drive 40 minutes (due to traffic) from Barboursville to eat there. Putting us there at 8:40. As we walk into the lobby, an older lady frowns at us. I go onto say there is 3 of us and she interrupts me and says "well our dining room closes in 15 minutes". My mom says "well can we eat? It's still 15 minutes till you close?" The older lady goes on to say again "well the dining room closes in 15 minutes" with a tone that suggests "get out we don't want your business". My mom says again "can we get a table or are you not going to serve us?" The older lady says "you can take a pizza to go if you want". She obviously did not care about us our our business (she was incredibly rude if I might add). As I have worked in a restaurant myself, I have always been taught we will seat and serve customers until the second we close. Fantastic pizza, but dreadful service. The tips are all split between the servers - so no one goes above or beyond. Actually, they don't even give mediocre service. It's pretty bad. You'll get your order, but don't expect any friendliness. I find the signs posted around the store about the tipping and about "absolutely no outside food" (not even cakes or cupcakes - which are things they don't even offer) to be in as almost as bad taste as their tacky and outdated booths and wood paneling. Great pizza, especially if you order extra sauce. I eat pizza on a regular basis and there are plenty in our area to chose from. However, it is worth the 20 minute drive each way in which we pass 6 different pizzerias to get to the restaurant. It is the best in the tri-state area. There are just a few issues that really keep it from being a 5 star place. First, they share tips. Wait staff should be paid for the work they do. Some of the staff just disappears and doesn't care to offer refills. There are always a few that seem to do the majority of the work. Second, the bathrooms are inadequate. There is only one each for men and women which makes it difficult on busy nights as you are often waiting in line. What makes matters worse is the fact they are dingy and usually extremely dirty. Not entirely their fault as people are gross in public, but an extra stall would make a huge difference. Third, if you get seated up front in the orange booths, prepare to be uncomfortable. They are like sitting at a school desk and they are so close to the front, people are constantly moving around making it difficult to enjoy your meal. You really feel on display and can't wait to get out of there. However, this is easily remedied by asking to wait for a different area. read more

This used to be the go to place for Pizza. On Friday and Saturday, there was a line to get a seat. Not anymore!! The wait staff is great and the Manager ( Riva) is the greatest. The trouble is that the owners daughter has taken over the business and runs the place like an army barracks., The prices are too high, they charge You extra for everything, She insists that You keep the lids on your drinks, The pizza hes deteriorated a lot. We ordered one with pepperoni and pineapple on it and got 8 or 10 pieces of pineapple on 16 slices . also We had 2 pieces that didn't have sauce or cheese, nothing but pizza dough. If you get refills on drinks, they charge . If you want a box for take home,they charge. You have no idea what your check will be because they are constantly going to the counter and adding things to the check. We've ate there about once a week for 25 years, but no more. There are better pizza places in the Tri-state area for a lot better price. The staff is very friendly and smiling until this woman shows up. I don't see how people work there anymore. This past Friday, We were there at rush hour and there we 3 couples there. I believe they have run off all their regular customers. We'll never return, I assure You. read more
