Booked my first breast ultrasound here because of great Yelp reviews and no doctor's order needed. Scheduling was easy; parking on a Saturday was not. I arrived about an hour early, hoping I could be seen sooner if they had availability. The technician explained that another client was ahead of me but running late. I offered to wait or return later, but she assured me it would be fine and that the appointment would be quick. Very-quick. It was Olympic speed quick! It's pricey, and the appointment felt very rushed with little explanation. The ABUS machine involved intense pressure--especially on the nipple area--and was far more painful than expected. Imagine getting them sliced slowly. I'm not sure if this is standard for the machine or the technician's technique. I got home and my nipples feel like they breastfed a small village. The experience didn't match the calm and painless vibe shown online, and I won't be returning. No need to contact me. The experience was too traumatic enough that I'm not interested in explanations or excuses--this review is simply to inform others. read more

I don't know any woman who loves getting a mammagram. We know how important it is, but we just drag our feet to make that appointment. Personally, I have been waiting to see if technology would invent a machine that was less like going into a torture chamber. When my primary doctor said, it's time to get your mammogram, I heard, "it's time to go laydown on a bed of nails." Determined to find another way, I searched for an alternative and came across breast ultrasound company Eve Wellness, made my appointment and actually show up. My experience from the moment I entered the office to the time I left was top notch service. The exam room was crisp and clean. The robe lay neatly (as if from the cleaners) on the exam table, I undressed from the waist up and put on the robe, IT WAS WARM! OMG! The slippers were at the end of the exam table, but you can keep your own shoes on if you want. I didn't risk it, if I had put on WARM slippers, I may have spent the night. The tech applied the gel, and explained every step as I lay on the exam table. The arm of the machine (not sure what to call it) did apply some pressure to get the ultasound but very gently. I understand this does not replace the traditional mammagram, especially if you are a high risk for cancer. The Breast Ultrasound is a supplemental to the Mammagram. But for me, I'll wait for technology to catch up and get my breast exam every year with the ultrasound. Discuss all the options with your doctor and do your research, as women we need to be our own advocates regarding our healthcare. read more

I had never really thought of breast screening as I'm in my early 30s and doctors don't discuss this with patients at this age. However, as someone who does not know their family health history I'm very much a fan of proactive health measures when possible. This screening was really helpful and took less than 15 minutes from beginning to end. It's clean and quiet in the facility and they got me the results in less than half a day. They also give you a call once you get the results so you can talk through any questions you may have. I found it good to know I have extremely dense tissue that can make it harder for typical mammograms to be as effective. read more

Thank goodness for Eve! Women with dense breast tissue have a greater chance of getting breast cancer, and the mammogram is not very accurate because of the dense tissue, yet many states and insurance companies won't cover an ultrasound that will provide accurate results. Why?? Until women get the proper treatment, Eve comes to the rescue. I was fortunate to find Eve while visiting San Francisco and it was easy to book online on a Saturday. I filled out an online form and was able to upload my previous ultrasound so they could compare. Daria greeted me warmly and the office was clean and like a spa! The ultrasound involved having a generous amount of cream applied, and then the ultrasound plates moved across for a few minutes. That was it! The results were ready in less than 2 days and they even called me to address any questions or concerns. You can also get tested for the BRCA genes and other cancer markers by providing a saliva sample (no eating or drinking for 20 minutes before), that they will bill to your insurance. I was lucky to meet the CEO Brendan, who was so dedicated to providing this valuable service at an affordable price. We talked about how this ultrasound is so important in early detection of breast cancer and saving lives, and the need for states to mandate ultrasounds for women with dense breast tissue. He talked about the Find It Early legislation that is being supported by Katie Couric. Please get involved with your state lawmakers and urge them to pass this legislation in your state. This was my first time ever getting a sonogram or mammogram and I was pretty nervous. I went into Eve not knowing what to expect and was greeted with kindness and compassion. The office space is really beautiful and looked like a spa. They also provide you with a heated bathrobe, which is a nice touch. I never felt rushed or judged and the experience was painless and easy. They send you a PDF of your images the next day and have someone call you too to go into more detail. I so appreciate that Eve is here in my neighborhood. I have very dense breast tissue and a history or breast cancer in my family so I wanted to screen as early as possible. Very easy to make an appointment online. There were street meter parking with a few free neighborhood parking. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and people around, this is a busy and nice area. Eve Wellness office is very clean, homey and welcoming. I was given a heated bathrobe & plush slippers to wear. The ultrasound machine that was used is a very high tech machine that is accurate and precise. The experience was pain free and quick (compared to a wand ultrasound which I had). This is something all women especially women with dense breast should do at least yearly. This ultrasound machine is truly a game changer in detecting breast cancer! The front desk person/technician was very professional, friendly and made the experience pleasant. I got my results (no cancer) the same day and images and results of the ultrasound. Eve wellness took such great care of me. Most of us know and love someone with breast cancer. The founder has filled a hole in the market for easy, accessible, and affordable care. Everyone should be able to book an ultrasound this easily without having to go through the red tape of a hospital system. If I had gone through Kaiser I'd have to wait a few weeks for a video visit to get my ultrasound ordered, and then a few months for an ultrasound appointment! For $350, Eve is extremely reasonable for the quality of their technology, their high touch, and quick report turnaround time. The market needs Eve! My experience was great. I was very comfortable during my breast examine. It was very fast with minimal discomfort. Plus Daria my nurse was so fun to talk with that i was surprised when she said we were done. The time flew by. i have a family history of breast cancer - both my grandmother & mother plus cousin. Daria expedited the review & called me to let me know that i have no signs of cancer. Daria also reminded me that i have very dense breasts. So a mammogram would not be the best vehicle for early detection. Eve's ultrasound should hands down replace mammograms! It's way more comfortable, comprehensive, and better at early detection and sleuthing through dense tissue. They've cultivated a spa atmosphere with heated bathrobes and slippers. You feel pampered and the price is reasonable AF. You can use FSA/HSA dollars as well, and it works with implants, unlike a mammogram which can burst an implant. This is the future! I wish everyone knew about this. Second time going to Eve Wellness and it was as easy as the first. Breast health should be this easy and results this fast. Wow does it make a difference. Mammograms have been very stressful for me in the past. This was a much kinder and gentler experience and I got my results the same day!! I have dense breast tissue and receive the standard letter from the state of California stating that mammograms cannot detect breast cancer as easily in dense breast tissue. I was able to quickly book an appointment, I had a great experience with the friendly staff and wonderful beautiful place. I was so comfortable there I could have stayed longer. I at a high risk for breast cancer and prior to getting an oncologist to monitor me - it was impossible to get referrals for screening. Eve solves all of this for all girls under the age of 35 who want to monitor themselves. The imaging is comparable to my MRI, with better resolution and a fraction of the stress/annoyance.
