These guys are thieves. Never told me over the phone they charge $100 just to come out. Also never said they have a flat rate system of charging. They do not charge by the hour but by the type of work they do. I needed two issues: kitchen sink blockage and the drain pipe under the sink leaked. He cleared the drain and replaced the p trap under the sink. The charge was $400. $150 for the drain blockage, $150 for the $4 p trap and $100 to come out fee. He spent 45 minutes at my home and a regular plumber would have charged $150 for all he did. I remarked that for his hourly pay of $40 that was pretty rich and he replied he only made $30 an hour. So his boss laughs all the way to the bank. Needless to say I will never use them again. read more

Charged me $150 just to show up, then tried to gouge me another $350 to "rebuild" my toilet because he couldn't tell if it was the wax ring or the tank to bowl seal leaking. I said holy crap, I can buy a new toilet for $100. He said "not here you can't." I asked him how much he'd charge for a new toilet? He quoted $850 (more, $1,000 with the $150 already charged). This is for a rental unit two hours from my home, so he figured he had me over a barrel, and he already had my $150, so now he could extort me. Unbelievable. The wax ring is less than $10, and the tank to bowl seal is about the same. These guys are shameless. Don't get reamed like I did!! read more

I contacted Evenflo to install a garbage disposal we bought from Co$tco. The fittings didn't match up to the plumbing, so the technician tried to repair the non-working disposal. Although he was unsuccessful, he had a nother unit in his van which he was able to install at my request. I appreciate the honesty and customer service and they earned our future business. read more

Business seems pretty disorganized. We needed help with some rough-in plumbing for a remodel, on a deadline due to a pending subfloor inspection. After calling around decided to go with EvenFlo as they assured us they could get us a bid and get the work done faster than any other local companies. Plumber came out to do the bid for sub-floor pipes for a relocated laundry and new bathroom within a couple of days, and we sent the office the PDF of the remodel plans. The same plumber even came back the next day to move a couple of lines under the existing bathroom sink that were in the way of a structural beam that needed to be installed. We received an estimate in our e-mail shortly thereafter for $1600; when I called in to see if it was an invoice for moving the lines under the sink I was assured it was an estimate for the whole job, to be paid on completion of the remainder of the sub-floor rough in - essentially extending drains and pipes under the new 10' of addition. We scheduled the rest of the job for ~ 2 weeks out, as the plumber who gave the bid was on vacation in the interim. This was pushing it in terms of our timeline to avoid delaying the next phase of inspection/construction, but the plumber seemed competent and nice. The office told me they were putting us on the schedule for two adjacent days in case it took more than one, although the plumber thought it wouldn't. Queue to the morning we're expecting the plumber...and no one shows. I called the office and was informed I wasn't on the schedule, then rather rudely upbraided that they had tried to reach me via my cell phone the previous day to confirm I still needed the work done but couldn't leave a message. Note I called back within minutes of missing that call, but no one picked up and the call terminated with an anonymous 'This number has a voicemail box that has not been set up yet. Goodbye.' so I didn't know who had tried to reach me. I was *then* told that the work had in fact already been done (spoiler alert: it hadn't...) and the $1600 invoice was just for moving the pipes under the sink to a different part of the cabinet. After half a day of runarounds with them trying to reach the plumber and figure out what was actually going on, they offered to reschedule us with a different plumber another week out as the best they could do. We're now going to finish the job with a different company who hopefully is a little more organized. It remains to be resolved what EvenFlo moving those pipes from the back to the side of the sink cabinet will cost us, but as per other reviews at this point I'm expecting we'll be paying what we were initially told was the full rough-in bid price even though the work wasn't finished. I guess this is what you'd call an expensive (both in dollars and wasted time) learning experience - save yourselves! read more

I called Evenflo about installing a dishwasher. Two guys came out, one who literally didn't say a word the entire time, and the other who had a look around. He said it would cost around $550 to do the plumbing for the dishwasher, but he was unable to explain how he came up with that number - it was not an hourly charge, etc. I asked if he could send me an email with that quote, as that seems standard in my experience. I wasn't sure I could trust what he said verbally when he was standing in my kitchen. I thought if I saw it in writing, it would have to be official. Well, I never heard from him/Evenflo again, so it's hard to know if that was an honest quote, or if he thought he could just throw out a number and I would agree to it. They won't be getting a second chance with me. read more

I was extremely satisfied with my Evenflo experience. I called Monday morning at 8am with a blocked sewer pipe, and Noah came out by 9:30am. He was very competent and professional in explaining what needed to be done and how much it would cost. Noah routed out the pipe, found standing water in the old cement pipe, and took care of the problem. I appreciate the prompt service, friendly technician and I would definitely use Evenflo again. Caution: I had used them previously and had been pleased with their service, but this last experience made me realize they're not going to stick to a tough job. When they were unable to hydroblast the drain line to the city sewer they left without cleaning up about 100 square feet of raw sewage in the yard. There was no communication, they simply jumped in their truck after one hour of work and left at 5pm leaving the house without sewer service. They came back at the beginning of the next week to clean it up, but by then I had already paid someone else to clean up their mess. When I complained and asked them to pay for the cleanup, they refused. read more

I had used Evenflow a couple of times in the past and was happy with their work and fees, but I suspect the owner attended a class on how to maximize profits before I needed them again. We were in AZ and had a problem at a rental. The hot water would not turn off in the bathtub. I've replaced seats and washers on this tub before and it's pretty simple. We got a bill for About $150 if I remember correctly. $49ish to diagnose the problem and about $100 to replace the faucet washer. I could have been ok with that until I asked the office lady if he replaced the cold water washer too. She told me that he did not but if he felt it was necessary he would have contacted me with a price to repair it too! A few months later I had to replace the washer he installed. It was very soft rubber and worked great, just not very long. I recently saw a help wanted ad from Evenflo and they mentioned incentive pay and then it all made perfect sense. read more

Just sent a check to Evenflo for $150, for basically doing nothing. I called for service on my tankless water heater (which they assured me beforehand that they had experience with); two guys show up and "troubleshoot" the heater, which basically involved calling the manufacturers' tech service department, then consulting YouTube. (after 30 mins, I found the Evenflo repair guys sitting on the curb, watching a YouTube video on how to perform routine maintenance/cleaning). Then they quoted over $500 to do that for me .. and gave me a bill for $150. Awful service -- they basically did nothing and charged me $150. I'll never call Evenflo again. Chase from Evenflo came over and replaced the main water supply to my house. It was old and leaking. I found this out when I turned off the water to replace a sink supply valve in the house. I turned the main valve off and water began squirting in my face. I did not have the experience nor the tools to replace this big valve so I called Evenflo. I expected to wait for an appointment however due to the fact that other work was rescheduled they were available. Two hours later I have a new main supply valve. Thanks Chase. read more

Charlie and Andrew arrived at my home at 9am, exactly on time, and In less than 45 minutes they had fixed the leaky pipe that my husband had been trying to fix for 2 years! The guys were friendly and really seemed to know what they were doing and they guarantee their work. It took a couple of weeks to get an appointment, but they are probably busy because they know what they are doing. My biggest mistake was not calling them 2 years ago when the leak started. Update 10/21/15 - The wife of the owner contacted me last week to discuss the issues below. She was very nice and professional, however their side of the story was still inconsistent, confusing, and defensive. Contrary to what the first support staff told me on the phone the prior week, the owner's wife claims that they do almost all of their work on a 'fixed fee' basis and that I actually received a "discount" because my two drain repairs according to their fixed fee pricing totaled more than what I was billed. I asked her where this fixed fee price list was and she said they don't have one, and that it varies based on the tech's assessment of the job. That makes no sense. I then asked her why this was not made clear to us, or why it isn't mentioned anywhere on their website, and she told me it's the customer's job to ask those questions ahead of time. She also stated that we got assigned their "fastest" plumber and if we had gotten one of their "slower" plumbers we likely would have paid more, so we got lucky again. I finally got her to break the price down on the phone to a time and materials basis, and even with their inflated parts pricing and billing their techs travel time to and from my house, she came up over $100 short of what I was billed. Despite that, she was very reluctant to admit i was overcharged. That's when things got weird and she claimed that contrary to what my wife had told me, my wife was not present for the duration of the service visit and therefore had no idea how long the tech was at my house. Supposedly the tech told her this and she believed it over her customer's word. Not sure what else to say other than my wife did not lie and we can prove that she was home until he left the house, and part of the reason why she felt she needed to stay is because she "got a weird feeling from the technician in how pushy he was both in the work that needed to be done, and insisting she didn't need to stay home while he worked". I'm not sure what is going on over there at Even Flo... but it isn't for me. Your mileage may vary, and they have received very positive reviews from others on Yelp, but at this point I've talked with several people at the company, and I don't like how they operate and how they treat their customers when there is a dispute. Long story short.... she reluctantly agreed to refund us the difference between their "discounted fixed fee" and the time and expenses price.... which turned out to be $440 vs $540 --------------------- Original Review: We unfortunately had a very negative experience with Evenflo Plumbing. They are not transparent with their billing and seem to capitalize on the inexperience/trust of some customers. Most of our complaint was turned back onto us, blaming my wife for not asking the right questions ahead of time. So, if you are not an experienced tradesman, and/or accostumed to the games that dishonest serviceman play, it seems that Evenflo would love to have your business. For what it's worth, we had 2.5 hours of work completed at our house (shower drain leak, and a clawfoot bath tub drain reconnect) for a shocking total of $540. Their hourly rate is supposedly $92/hour. What was not disclosed upfront or at really any point until I called to complain, is that they bill for their "travel time". Not once did the tech mention that, nor does their website mention it, nor did their correspondence before the service visit mention it. Their "bill" also did not mention it. I say the "bill" because the service technician refused to provide my wife with an itemized bill... even when asked. Instead he convinced her that a lump sum was a "better deal" and if he did an itemized he would really have to include all the parts that he used, and this way he can kind of hide them in the bill..... I called their office today to inquire, and they seem more interested in backpedaling and blaming my wife for not asking the right questions before the service visit than addressing their lack of transparency and dishonest practices. Even with travel included, the bill includes $200+ unknown charges... supposedly parts related... but no justification. I was told she would check with the technician and call me back. I'm not surprised to have not heard from them since. It's a shame to be a small community, and consistently run into people who just don't get it.... they are more eager to take advantage of you, then to do a job well and be honest and upfront and develop a relationship for return business. We have a lot of future renovation plans, and could have been a lot of business for them, but we will be going with someone else next time. read more

Worst experience, don't call these guys unless you want to be overcharged and deal with dishonest people. I'm a landlord and was out of town when a hot water heater went out. Knowing that I was in a jam they gave me the screw over and got me for all they could. Quoted price increased $450 for a couple small pieces of PEX pipe. Then the next day the copper pipe leading from the hot water heater magically has a tiny leak. They come to check their "guaranteed" work and I receive a $500 invoice for fixing the pipe. Come to find out when I get to the house that this fix consisted of putting in a couple ft of PEX pipe. Mind you a 100ft roll of PEX is $30. I had a real fun month of back and forth and lies with this company. Be warned read more

My husband recently discovered that our water heater was leaking (at 6:30 pm on a Friday). I contacted Evenflo and was transferred to one of their plumbers- I believe it was Kyle who responded to our call. He informed us that he was still at the shop and would come over to take a look at it. He came over and assessed the situation, answered our questions/concerns and made some recommendations. We were disappointed with Evenflo's service. We have always used Judsons and went to Evenflo because of availability. The initial call was for evaluation of a problem with our kitchen faucet. Our adult daughter was here when Shawn came. They charged for one hour and fifteen minutes although my daughter said that he spent a significant amount of time on a personal cell phone call and taking pictures of the deer in our backyard. Since it was convenient I still allowed them to do the work. Shawn did a good job installing a new faucet - another hour and fifteen minutes charged - but didn't bring the plugs necessary to complete the work. I paid the full bill via check to him at that time and never heard from them again. I have called 3 times and never even had a response. I will go back to Judsons in the future, and unfortunately to complete the work that I already paid Evenflo to do! read more

We had a water pipe break and had to have the water into our house turned off that day without prior warning. We called two plumbing companies in Corvallis, one of which we had used before on more than one occasion, and neither of them could fit us in for almost a week. The third company we called was Evenflo. They rearranged their schedule to have someone come out that day to look at the problem. By the next morning, they had two of their employees out preparing the site for the repair and by that afternoon, the repair had been made. We had to wait one more day for the glue to dry. Evenflo called and came out exactly when they said they would. They were very informative about what the problem was, showed us the broken connection both before and after it had been fixed, and were genuinely cordial and professional. We did not have the luxury of comparing bids, so I don't know if what they charged was competitive; but, I do know we will call them the next time we need a plumber. They are reliable, considerate, and, from what we can tell so far, good at what they do. read more

Evenflo Plumbing did a nice job with replacing a huge water heater for some folks for whom I was house sitting. You can imagine what a nightmare it was to discover a leaking water heater on your watch when it's not your place. Nevertheless, Evenflo did a great job with all parts of the job. They got a technician out promptly to help me cut off power to the failing water heater so as to prevent fire. Then they took quick action to try and find a no-long-made extra-large water heater. At all times, communication via phone and e-mail to me and to the home owners was prompt and clear. The job site was spic-and-span clean at the end. Evenflo is the best! We had been having problems with our on-demand hot water heater on and off for years. We have had many different plumbers come out and look at it. Although, all those plumbers were lovely, it wasn't until Max from Evenflo came out that I felt like someone finally could help me. Max was very knowledgeable and patient with me. I am the type that wants to watch everything that is being done and ask tons of questions. Max and Lupe were very accommodating to me and they tried all types of trouble shooting before I decided that a new on-demand hot water would be my best option. Evenflo gave me great options to choose from in differing price ranges. I didn't feel pressured at all to spend the most money. Wendy in the office was a fantastic point person. She is always so friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about these three people. Plumbing problems are no fun but working with Evenflo took the frustration out of the process. They missed two appointments and were insanely rude. They called before the first appointment, said they'd had an internal scheduling mixup, and rescheduled me for "first thing 9am" on another day. They NO-CALLED NO SHOWED the rescheduled appointment. I called at 9:30 am to inquire where their plumber was, and phoney baloney excuses poured out. Within 30 seconds I was told that road conditions are icy (it's 31 degrees outside) so the plumber was pulled over "for safety", the plumber is travelling from out of town, and that my appointment window is actually from 9am-11am so the plumber really wasn't late yet. If road conditions are poor, leave your house earlier. That's how I get to work on time. I can't believe this ludicrous story that their plumber is pulled off the road, just waiting for the weather to warm up "for safety", yet noone bothered to call to let me know. I and this company are in Corvallis, so I'm not thrilled hearing "our workers are from out-of-town". And noone at any time mentioned there was a two-hour time window. Why should there be a two-hour window for the first appointment of the day?? It's ridiculous, and you only find out long after they've no-called no-showed, even though I was word-for-word told that my appoinment was "first thing 9am". That's still not the worst. I get a call an hour late saying the plumber is still delayed, and will I be available all morning? I say no, that I have to work, and we'll have to cancel the whole thing. Ten minutes later, I get a call by someone else at the company that was 100% HARRASSMENT. I was told that I was rude for not waiting for the plumber (what??), accused of hanging up on the dispatcher (100% untrue) and I was repeatedly told that I was being taken off the schedule. I'm still baffled by that call. When I saw them calling my cell again, I was hoping it was an attempt to still get my plumbing issues fixed! I've had good and bad service in town, and this is the worst of the worst. Insane level of rudeness, no-call no-show, can't keep their word on anything, and lies freely. read more
