Sent a technician out who was in my home for 15 minutes only to tell me my shower door was leaking and that they don't replace shower doors before leaving. They completed no repairs and performed no diagnostic services. I already knew the shower door was leaking! I just received an invoice for 180$ dollars for a "minimum fee" that was never disclosed beforehand. I didn't sign anything before or after the tech was in my home. This business is predatory and scammy. read more

My 48 year old (vintage) water heater was slowly failing the week the college grandchildren and their parents arrived for move in day. Gale, a lovely voice from RG Smith, called me back and arranged for a new heater to be installed and the old heater to go into retirement the next day! The fellows were efficient and fast. They upgraded the plumbing. A hot shower and several loads of washing later. I am a thankful and happy customer. A tip. Drain your water heater once a year. read more

They came out and the guy stood around and talked on the phone for 4 hours while on the clock at $80 an hr so he was fired and yet they still tried billing for $3500 for work that was never even started let alone finished. Please don't give these scammers any of your hard earned money! read more

Would be a 5 star except the receptionist forgot to call me back to let me know they had an opening but that was just a minor oversight. Excellent service, good value. At 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, with dinner guests coming, I discovered that my water heater was leaking in 2 places. I called RG Smith, and Rhonda had a plumber at my house by 5:15. He brought a water heater on his truck. He quickly confirmed that my water heater needed to be replaced, and he had the job done by 6:30 pm. I wasn't charged overtime. I'm an established customer, which might have made a difference--but there's a reason I return to RG Smith. read more

I had a broken pipe. they sent out 2 people a rookie and a journeyman. They didn't have to do anything but fix a 1.5" PVC pipe, I had it dug up and cleaned up so it would be easy for them. The journeyman watched the rookie fix the pipe once, waited for 45 min, and pressure tested leaks. So they tell me that they will have to go to town for parts, I told them that I have the parts. so they took the parts and the rookie tries again, looks like it will hold. they don't even cover the hole up. I was wondering if I was going to get hit for 2 people showing up, and low and behold i got hit for journeyman time and apprentice time of 5 hours each and then they had the nerve to charge me for my own flippin parts. So they dicked around doing about 1/2 hr worth of work but billed me for the 5 hrs per individual and charged me for my parts. When brought up to the office manager she says she will find out from the plumbers, well they conveniently have no recollection of any of this taking place and they charge me full rate. Now 4.5 months have passed and the fix is broken again and they officially suck. i will do it myself read more

super disappointing from one local business to another. extorting customers to pay bills for hours falsely billed is just never something I would expect to happen. especially in corvallis oregon, steer far clear of these people. M&W electric is honest and hardworking sure you might get overbilled a half hour or something from someone else. but these people billed us for 5 days of work. about 3400 for work that they never even did. RG Smith Electric did a great job completing a list of electrical projects, including rewiring half my garage, installing a motion detector and new bedroom fixture, and replacing some broken track lighting. They were reliable and their charges were fair. In order to save me money, the electrician gave me the option of picking the parts needed up myself, which I elected to do. While in the store trying to pick out the new track lighting, I got confused about which parts I needed, since the broken lights were quite old and did not correspond to anything in the store. I called RG, they put me in touch with the electrician (who was out on a job) by phone within minutes, and he spoke with the store lighting employee. With this wonderful service, I was able to get the right parts the first time, thus saving money and additional shopping trips. read more
