"It was a terrible and frustrated experience" I organized a bridal shower for my Dougter in Law October 26 at 150 sunset Event Center and was deeply disappointed. The waitstaff never approached us to offer coffee or tea just one time. They just showed up to serve the food nothing else we had to stand up and look for them to Ask for something. The self-serve mimosa station was not prepared, l signed a contract that said serve self mimosas not that l have to make them !!! me as an organizer l had to prepare them and I ended up serving the guests myself. When I asked the manager to help me and prepare the mimosas for an extra cost, she rudely responded that none were available and she could show me how to make them !! For that, l can do it at my house. I have photos and videos to support my claims. Overall, an unprofessional and disappointing experience." Not recommend them at all!! read more

My sister and I flew out to El Paso in April of 2023 to look for a venue to hold our mother's 88th Birthday Party in May 2024. We settled on 150 Sunset Event Center because they appeared to be legitimately professional, yet easy going. We set the date for our party on May 11, 2024 and made a FULL payment of $12,500 a full year before the date. The $12,500 did not include all the extra perks that we would be discussing during our subsequent trip back to El Paso on June 23rd-27th 2023, to sample the venues food and plan some of the additional details for our party: florist, DJ, music, mariachis, dessert table, decorations, featured cocktail, etc., which we were fully aware that we would be billed additional charges associated with the added incidentals. $$$ Earlier this week one of the event coordinators from 150 Sunset called me to tell me that the contract for the event we'd agreed to and that had already been paid for in full, per their contract, had not been signed yet. I apologized and told her that my sister had been very busy with work, but I would call her to make sure she signed and return it that same day. I also advised her that she wasn't tech savvy and I offered to sign the contract myself since if it needed to be done ASAP. I phonetically spelled out my email so she could send the contract to me, but I never received anything. I also called my sister to tell her that the contracted needed to be signed and returned by the end of the day. The contract was signed and submitted that same day to one of the many emails that she was given. The next day the event manager emailed my sister telling her that because of the lack of communication, she thought it best to cancel the entire event. I totally get that the contract hadn't been signed, but they did have the full payment. The fact that the contract was returned, maybe not to the correct person within the organization, a quick search would've confirmed that it was returned, but it was signed and returned. So now, instead of going to sample food at 150 Sunset, we'll be flying back out to El Paso from out of state to look for a whole new venue. We're extremely disappointed with how this was all handled. We're not denying any blame, since we agree that the contract hadn't been signed until the last minute, but the full amount for our event had been paid over a year before the party was supposed to take place and that should've been taken into account. The lack of communication was just the excuse given to cancel our event. We're awaiting a full refund on the entire amount ($12,500) that was paid and we're hoping that transaction is dealt with in a much more professional manner. I'm wondering if our event was canceled because they double booked or they were offered more money to host another party on the same day? Either way, I don't believe this how business should be conducted and hope others don't have to go through with the same headache we went through. P.S. I had my October wedding there and could not be happier with the experience!!! Event managers/ coordinators , Leslie, Micaela, and Jasmine were fantastic to work with from start to finish!! They explained things thoroughly, were clear with options and really understood the vision we had for our special day. For the day of, ALL of the staff were helpful and happy! I felt they were all genuinely happy to be making our day as special as it was. Everyone was cheery and polite! Both of our families commented on the friendliness of all the staff. In particular, Marcos was amazing in taking over when Jasmine was done. You were awesome! Food was fantastic, from the entrees to the signature cocktails! We also worked with their contracted DJ and florist. Both teams were fantastic! The ease of working with this venue and their vendors made the wedding planning process so much easier and a lot less stressful! I'm so glad we booked here!!! read more

I had my wedding here, it was the best decision of my life. They handled everything for me, I didn't have to worry about anything. Everything went smoothly, they even stood by and waited for me at my wedding. They offer the best wedding services in El Paso and I had to plan my wedding from out of town. They bent over backwards to accommodate us and we received nothing but compliments for how beautiful the location was to how delicious the food was and the decor, my wife was bursting with joy at the flower arrangements. Everyone we worked with was incredibly helpful and made planning our wedding so easy, stress-free and incredibly enjoyable. Leslie, Eloísa and Makayla were an amazing help. They were on it the entire time! Every person we interacted with was extremely professional, kind and knowledgable. The venue was beautiful and accommodating to any changes we made even up to the day of. I would absolutely recommend this venue as it is a beautiful space and the perfect place for a wedding. This is my favorite restaurant on the West Side for sure. The ambience is beautiful and I love going with my husband here for dinner. We love the food and the quiet atmosphere while sitting on the patio enjoying a drink and relaxing. The green Chile burger is great with sweet potato fries! First time at 150 Sunset. After a 20 minute wait for Sunday brunch, we were seated and promptly greeted by our waitress. Great menu, however a bit tough for my elderly parents to read. Although super busy, our order was taken and food served in a reasonable time. Great flavors; everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was really good too. 150 Sunset is different from those formula franchises. Feels local, fun, and even a bit sophisticated. Will return for a dinner meal next time we are in town. read more

We had our wedding at 150 Sunset, and we had an absolutely great night!! The venue is beautiful inside and out. The outside garden area is perfect for pictures! Leslie (our event planner) was so helpful and was quick to jump in and help us find a solution when minor problems arose. Marco was a great attendant!! Our guests still talk about him and how he was such a joy to have around. The whole staff made us feel extra special and well taken care of on this stressful day. The service was passed our expectations, 10/10! The food at the reception has room for improvement, but regardless, we still highly recommend 150 Sunset. read more

Very bad service. We signed a contract with them, paid our deposit, and no one called us for a month! When I complained about that on Facebook, I finally got a call from the owner for a meeting. (they deleted my facebook review.) In the meeting, the owners offered to let us cancel with a refund, and basically told me that it was my job to call them, not their job to call me. The owners were rude and implied that I was being unreasonable in wanting all the details so early (50 days till wedding at that time). In the time I had contracted with them, I didn't get to choose my food, linens, or other options, and was told that I would choose that closer to the wedding date, without ever getting prices or hard facts in writing. When I met with them, I got different prices from the ones I was originally given, and STILL nothing in writing with a grand total. Bear in mind we also couldn't cancel because we would lose our deposit within 90 days of the wedding date. We ended up cancelling because we both felt uncomfortable with the owners and worker's attitudes toward us, and because we were concerned about not knowing how much the wedding would end up costing in the long run. Even after a very awkward call from the owner asking me to "work it out" with them, they ended up taking our money and giving us nothing but a heartache and 6 weeks to plan our wedding from scratch. Recently hosted a Baby shower here for my best friend and had the best experience! I already knew the food was going to be delicious since I come for brunch ever so often. The planning process was super smooth and stress free! Gabbi was able to assist me with anything I needed and was super quick to respond to emails (within 24 hours!). She was able to execute all my ideas with no difficulty and made sure all details were taken care of. Her staff was amazing the day of as well! They were very helpful and tentative! I can't fully review the place. The place has that lovely nature-look both inside and and out but I didnt care for their wedding package that can easily have you go way past your budget. We didn't go for this place because of the food prices -I really wish I could just rent the venue/building and then opt out of some of their services. Felt their prices were high compared to other venues- one example is their sangria and wine. Once I carefully calculated what it would take to feed take our 250 guests (which didn't even include a cake) it just didn't make much "$en$e" What I can say is that the staff is extremely professional and attentive. They answer messages promptly. Wish their package had more of a sliding scale of food options for couples who do want to have some savings left for the down payment of their future home. read more

Event date: May 16, 2015 I am so happy we chose 150 Sunset! Our wedding turned out better than I could have imagined. Lorena brought my idea of decor to life and made it better than I could have hoped for. Gabi was also very helpful in making sure every detail of our day was in place. The chef was wonderful and we have received so many compliments on our food. During our wedding, the wait staff was very attentive and did everything to make our event flow smoothly. Well, the landscaping service they provide is horrendous. They did not even complete our project when we paid for everything after they nearly finished so their material cracked because they did not put the coating which we expected and they lack communication. If you do use them, never pay them the last check until the very last second. I am letting friends, neighbors, and family know about this as well because regardless, they should be able to cover the damages. It's been months and still have not heard back from them. If you want professionals to do your job, I would encourage you to look elsewhere. This place is overpriced for poor quality. read more

If you are looking for a venue that is rustic but yet classy, 150 Sunset is the place!! We held our son's graduation event at 150 Sunset. The service was excellent. The staff provided excellent service by having meetings with us to review all the details for our event. They made sure that they handled all the work, so that we could enjoy the party. They delivered as promised. Everything we asked for they provided and took care of. We got to enjoy our son's graduation party with family and friends. The decor, food and ambiance were superb!!!! The wait was ridiculous. They first said 25 minutes, we checked in, then they said we were next and they seated about six other tables. We had a party of four, so it wasn't like it was a huge table we were asking for. They finally, after almost an hour, seated us. We waited another 20 minutes before a server came by. While we were sitting, a gust of wind blew everything off of the table near us. It broke all of the glasses and glass shards went flying everywhere. If they had bused the table timely, it would not have happened! WE asked if we could be moved. So we moved again...causing great confusion with the servers. We ordered our meals and waited and waited. Three of the four meals were delivered and the fourth person had to wait another 20 minutes. The food was okay, cold and not incredible. That place is OFF my list for sure. read more
