Event Helpers LA exceeded my expectations from the first point-of-contact through the successful completion of our event. Gustavo and Allen were excellent communicators, reliable, and supportive. We hosted a 35-person brunch (with guests of all ages) and Keith and Michelle were incredible partners. Michelle kept things moving in the kitchen, constantly replenishing food and cleaning up as she went, always with a proactive and friendly approach. I cannot express how grateful we are to Gustavo and his exceptional team at Event Helpers LA. From our first contact - - and at every point -- we felt confident and thrilled that we had picked the right team. Gustavo is smart, insightful, cheerful, resourceful, creative, and in charge. Even though we were putting together the largest event at our home since our wedding in 2008, he made us feel comfortable, relaxed and excited to be throwing a retirement bash for 110+ guests. Normally a huge event at our home would be very stressful -- Not with Gustavo, he always made us feel great, and we were so happy that we had someone as experienced as him to navigate every detail. Gustavo helped with everything. Linens, caterer, furniture, beverages, decor, party favors, layout and logistics. Where it was easy for us to simply purchase things ourselves like beverages, he saved us money -- his staff and bartenders did all the work of serving, prep and tear down. He even suggested a # so that guests could post their pictures to social media under our name. Brilliant. Everything and everyone Gustavo recommended was top-notch. Our DJ Carlos could not have been better, the music was totally fun and upbeat -- our guests were thrilled with the entire event. The compliments flowed like champagne, and we owe it all to Gustavo and his team. To be sure, there were a couple of glitches along the way, this or that got miscommunicated with the caterer (who incidentally WE had insisted on rather than going with Gustavo's recommended caterer). That was our mistake. Next time I would 100% go with whoever Gustavo recommends because he knows the best of the best! Unlike a lot of events, making all of this happen was actually fun, every conversation we had with Gustavo, every meeting left us feeling better and more enthusiastic. Having thrown some of these parties with other event planners, I have to say I've never felt as happy and relaxed as I did with Gustavo. And his team. Meanwhile, the response to our invite was huge -- in fact we ended up with a far bigger budget event than we had planned. And it was all worth it, every dollar. In fact because there had been a couple of minor glitches with the caterer, Gustavo offered us a make-good out of his own pocket...which we politely declined. The truth is everything had been so fantastic, so beyond our expectations, and everyone was so happy -- his kind gesture was characteristic, but we said no, it was the best party ever and we were just grateful to have him at the helm. Our party lasted for five hours, followed by an after party for about four hours: Gustavo even made sure that we had a staff member for the after party to make life easy. She was amazing. Only one sad note - now that this event is done, I wish we had another one to look forward to!! I chose Event Helpers LA because of the incredible reviews and five star ratings... Wow... I am at an absolute lost for words. I had planned a backyard wedding and inquired through yelp for a couple of days of wedding coordinator. I decided on going with Event Helpers LA because of the raving reviews about Gustavo and his team. From what their yelp page showed, Gustavo seemed somewhat trustworthy. And then, it went all downhill from there. And downhill is an underestimate of the situation I went through. It started when I had scheduled our first phone call, and Gustavo missed our scheduled meeting. He said it was due to new system updates, and the fact that it happened to "delete" his scheduled call with me. The first red flag. You'd think a wedding coordinator would be a little bit more prompt and organized. I ignored it and proceeded to further inquire about Gustavo's services. It was two weeks before the wedding and we were now drafting our timeline for our wedding. We had a couple of discussions and I gave Gustavo all the information about every vendor I hired and how to get into contact with them. This is where things started to take a real turn. It was a week before the wedding and Gustavo had still not reached out to any vendors to introduce himself. All my vendors would inquire and ask me if I had a coordinator and sure enough I gave them Gustavo's information. He never reached out to them to introduce himself. Instead, I became the main point of contact. Gustavo was an absolute mess. He was constantly asking me for information that I already gave him. He asked me for the DJ's contact information at least 3 times. He texted my wife thinking she was a make up artist. He texted other vendors that he was going to follow up and never did. It was just a whole whirlwind of misinformation. And here comes the best part. 3 days before the wedding he sends me a "finalized" timeline for our wedding day. It was an utter and complete of garbage. He didn't even have the parent's names listed. The times were all messed up, and the events were all out of order. Half of the scheduled items that we spoke about weren't even listed. I told him that there was no way what he sent me could be a finalized version of the timeline. Vendors were again shocked and reached out to me to clarify what was happening. Can you imagine the levels of stress that I had to endure? Gustavo gave me no sense of relief and did not do anything to alleviate the stress of wedding planning. And now comes the best part of Gustavo's nightmare experience. It's the day of the wedding, and he reaches out to me that his assistant will be arriving at the venue at 2pm and he will be arriving at 4pm. His assistant, Ellie, arrived a little late, but started off assisting with the wedding right away. He was the only saving grace of this entire experience; and I personally thanked him myself. 4PM rolls around and Gustavo is nowhere to be seen. In fact, he never showed up. Just wow. How does the owner of a wedding coordinating company not show up to the wedding he promised to come to and help. I honestly feel scammed by Gustavo. He overpromised in every aspect and literally delivered nothing. The day after my wedding (thank god things still went as planned) I texted Gustavo to let him know my disappointment, basically everything started above. He responded that he would reply promptly. It's now 8 hours later since his text message. Currently, I am thinking this must be some ridiculous joke. This guy is doubling down and spitting in his client's face. I cannot say this enough, but DO NOT HIRE GUSTAVO AS A WEDDING COORDINATOR. This is the worst experience I've had with any sort of professional. I teach high school students for a living and I would trust them to be my coordinator over Gustavo. Crazy. I could go on and on, but this has consumed enough of my energy. We've had 2 annual dinner parties and used Event Helpers' servers to assist with the food. Each time, the servers were prompt, friendly, and attentive! They came in with a smile and left with a clean kitchen and a smile. Our party was self-serve buffet-style. But they didn't sit idle, they made sure dishes were clean, and replenished. 4.5, they were excellent but 1 thing could have been improved. Hired for my daughter's quince July 12, 2025. They were sooo helpful I'm so glad I hired them. They were literally life savers, BUT the beans did get burned because they did not stir them when they were plating. Some of my guests got burnet beans and that's no fun. I do have to acknowledge that Gustavo did recommend more servers for my size party and my servers worked so darn hard the night of the event. Still, stirring could have easily been done while serving but we all had a blast and I couldn't have executed the party of a lifetime without them, would definitely hire them again! read more

I cannot praise her enough. But I will try. Arrived on time. Dressed professionally (all black). Came ready to work. She worked. She understood what I needed to host the event in my home. I would HIGHLY recommend Event Helpers LA to anyone looking for flawless service and genuine support for any type of event. Los Angeles in August is very hot and prior to the event, the ice delivered seemed to be enough but quickly started melting. Gustavo has a lot of knowledge and advised me on how many more bags of ice would be needed and by what time. Because of his genuine concern on making sure the event continued without a hiccup, I followed his advice and ordered more like he suggested. And sure enough, it was perfect to last the rest of the evening. We had four bartenders, Juan, Salvatore, Michael and Manny. They were very helpful with setting up the bar and breaking things down by the end of the night. Very nice helping me carry everything to the bar and organizing it. Juan and Salvatore gave me the biggest sigh of relief when I asked if they had knives and a cutting board because the fruit for garnishes were still whole, if it weren't for them bringing a bar kit with knives, peelers and a cutting board (also a lemon squeezer) we would not have had the garnishes needed right away. They also genuinely wanted to make sure we didn't run out of product so as needed they let me know when to order more agave syrup and lime juice. I'm super grateful for their input and they were great with all the guests. All in all, the staff was incredible and I had the pleasure of working with them that evening. They are so polite and communicated with me all evening, overall a great group of gentlemen. 100/10! :) read more
