We hired her very early on (about 8 months before the wedding). We appreciated that she had the foresight to suggest that early on for us to connect 2 months before the wedding. This meeting ended up being a huge help in organizing all the final details left such as the timeline and schedule. As our wedding was the first Vietnamese wedding she coordinated, she did her best to ensure our cultural traditions were included, even arranging a separate chat with my mother. We were in frequent contact the month leading up to the wedding and she was always responsive. Olivia was so patient in helping us go through SO MANY versions of the timeline and schedule and gave all the right feedback and asked all the right questions for us to take back . She met with us in-person a few times as well, for site visits and to help with some pre-wedding day decorating. On the day of the wedding, Olivia was EVERYWHERE, doing her best behind the scenes so that everything went smoothly. I'm sure there were issues I didn't even know about because Olivia was there to address it! We had a long day with two ceremonies, a photoshoot, and a dinner reception, all in different locations, and with a super packed schedule. Olivia supported us through and through and helped us not only survive, but also enjoy it! She bought her own emergency kit and it was definitely helpful the one time I saw it in action - my husband spilled on himself and Olivia came to the rescue with a stain remover! She did so much, gathering people together, getting us food and water, setting up our DIY decor (which was done amazingly to our vision), and so much more. At the end of the night, she helped us pack away the DIY decor. She ended up staying with us for a whopping 16+ hours, and drove us to our honeymoon suite when all was over. Overall, Olivia is very organized, detailed-oriented and coordinates with kindness and in consideration of your needs as a couple. We were married on April 30 of this year and had booked Joyce Wedding Services for several of their packages, including their reception decoration package, their ceremony package, and their flower package. At first, we were quite satisfied with the process, and relatively amenable with the planning. Our first sign that something was amiss was when another vendor we were working with suggested that we shouldn't work with Joyce Wedding Services. But given that we had already put down a sizable deposit, we really didn't have a choice. At the end, we paid an additional 60% on top of our original invoice - for some changes we needed. As many have told us, it was overpriced - but given we were two thousand dollars invested already, we didn't really have a choice. Here were the issues we had on the wedding day: 1) None of the centre pieces were put together as agreed upon - they were supposed to setup our 26" vases with submersible LED lights hidden beneath crystals. However, they left the LED lights stating that the lights wouldn't last all night, and thus we needed to do it ourselves. We spent an hour and a half on our wedding redoing each of our centrepieces (emptying the water, relayering each piece). 2) They promised a 3D logo of our wedding (like the photos) - we received printed paper - THAT WAS CREASED! Our own names, on the $2000 backdrop we paid for, was creased right through. 3) During their clean up, they decided to charge us an additional $275 for "damages" to their rentals - meanwhile, the venue and our wedding party all noted that they were returned in ORIGINAL SHAPE. Yet, when they damaged our purchased wedding pieces, there was no compensation nor discussion about that. They had permanently altered each of our centrepieces without discussing with us first! 4) Unwilling to communicate - at the end of it - they just charged our credit card (meanwhile they would only accept cash for payment for their services so they don't pay tax). Worst of all, upon seeing our review online, they have since emailed us berating our "dollar shop center pieces" and stating that "only one side story won't affect much. You have mouth can talk, same here. And goes around to your end as well". On one hand, it worries me that this unprofessional business has our credit card on our file and is making threats, but on the other, I have been a regular user of Yelp for a long time - and hope this review helps others save the emotional and financial damage my wife and I had to endure. This was our experience as we had rented this venue for our daughters Quiñceanera. Due to the storm we had to reschedule our event. The event organizer was nothing but inflexible by only offering me Family Day or a few Friday's in March as an alternative!! We had no option but to take Family Day so we wouldn't lose our money/deposits on other rentals. We had agreed on different things in a group chat created by the event organizers once I had booked the date. They promised a few things and the day of event some of those things weren't done. I didn't like chandler's or fake candles they had as decor, they agreed to remove them as it didn't go with our theme, this wasn't done. There was miscommunication, as they also canceled their in house chef at the last minute causing me lots of stress and figuring out my own catering. I had rented the venue for 5hrs and was told I could have 30mins before to set up. My event was changed to Monday for 12:30pm but the organizer said the catering could arrive between 11/11:30am. I arrived at the venue 5 minutes before 12pm. Upon arrival the organizer was still nowhere close to being done setting up for my event which was scheduled to start at 12:30pm. She had her child there, laying down on the sofa, with food, drinks and a big mess. I found this to be extremely unprofessional knowing she had an event starting soon. My sister, her family of 3 and my parents arrived at 12:08pm to find the mess, me stressing, my daughters setting up tables, cleaning up, running around to fix things while the organizer was taking time to do I don't know what she was doing. My daughters didn't need to set up but yet they pretty much set up the tables, cutlery, wines, desert tables, organized kitchen etc. I had rented flowers to be set up and the organizer didn't use them so I wasted money. The organizer seemed to be very bothered that my family had arrived at 12:08pm to help me. She questioned why they were there if my party started at 12:30pm. At this point she had gotten very hostile towards me and was screaming in my face in front of my family. My sister and husband had to jump in and ask her to calm down. She proceed to walk away screaming and slammed the office door. The supervisor they left while my event was going on was very unhelpful and seemed to only be there to check what we were doing and what time we were going to leave. As I got threaten in the chat that if we went over the time they would take it from my deposit. My daughter birthday was a success because we made it happen. BUT BOUTIQUE EVENTS AND VENUE IS NOT A PLACE I WOULD WORK WITH AGAIN OR RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! DIANA NEEDS TO LEARN MORE HOW TO TALK WITH RESPECT TO CUSTOMERS!!!
