I visited this venue for a Luther Vandross concert. The ambiance and atmosphere were amazing! The staff were very friendly and polite.

Knights of Columbus Lansing Council 3540/Columbian Club of Lansing/Kacey's Restaurant/ACE Catering…read more& Banquets - 3 Stars: These are all related and in the same building. Everything starts with the KofC ... they run their own Council out of this building, located at 17800 South Lorenz - one block west of Burnham Avenue on 178th Street. The building has three main areas. The KofC restaurant was named the Columbian Club of Lansing (http://lansingkc.com/menu.html) and it occupies one end (south) of the building ... probably 30 tables in the dining room with seating for over 100. Full dinner menu and exceptional salad bar; full service bar with very reasonable prices. During Lent the restaurant is always packed on Fridays because of the excellent fish selections - so make a reservation (708-895-7720). On behalf of the Columbian Club the KofC decided to lease out the restaurant business and chose ACE Catering & Banquets (http://www.aceace.org/) - who recently renamed the KofC restaurant Kacey's (get it?). Ray Kosinski runs ACE, and operates the KofC dining room and all the catering ... he runs a nice kitchen and keeps up the restaurant end of the business very well. ACE Catering also runs a number of other KofC's and restaurants in the southeast Chicago area & northwest Indiana. The middle of the building is a banquet room that can be rented and used for ACE-catered affairs (First Communions, graduations, weddings, etc.) or club special occasions open to the public (Easter and Mother's Day brunches, etc.) ... or used as overflow when the dining room is packed. There also is an outdoor area that can be used/rented for BBQ parties and the like, weather permitting. The north end of the building is a large sports bar with big screen TVs on the wall. Full service bar, seating at the bar and tables around the walls. All told, this is a nice place to go - visit the restaurant or the sports bar and you'll have a nice time. While the seniors absolutely love the restaurant, the place is wonderful for families too.

They have a few parking spaces in the front of the building with a larger lot in the rear. It was not too crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server Michaela was very friendly and suggested a few food items for my wife which were GF. I started with the House Old Fashion and my wife had the Bee's Knees. Both were very good and cost 10.00 each. For lunch I tried their Pecan Whiskey BBQ wings. 5 wings cost 10.00. They were good size and very tasty but I didn't taste any of the Pecan Whiskey flavor. My wife had the Barbacoa Tacos which were filled with braised beef. She could only eat 2 of them so I had the third taco. Flavorful but I would have preferred more salsa or a dipping sauce. I wanted to try their Drop Dead Bourbon separately so I had a small tasting. I loved it so much I bought a bottle to bring home. Cost was 60.00. The history of this distillery dates back to 1857 and is one of Illinois' oldest standing distillerys and was once Al Capones largest bootlegging facility during prohibition. I would love to go back and try a few more of their hand crafted cocktails and one of their signature burgers.

Pretzel sticks fantastic, chicken tenders surprisingly bad. Awkward service. There was a private gathering in the main room, so we were in the back area of the bar. I didn't mind the server's schtick, but some other did. Before we finished our second round of drinks, while fully planning on ordering one more round, our bill was brought to us. The server then never returned to take the check. So we felt rushed out despite our whole section being empty and no one waiting for a table.

Okay so I went here for a reception :/ Errrm they didn't have the area ready because some classy couple were having their wedding, which means that they overbooked cause we were only 15 minutes behind in schedule when arriving. The bride was pissed cause its was hot in all her garb and the fact they had reserved two of the three rooms they have and PAID that we had to practically stare the couple into hurrying their nuptials........yeah it was that kind of wedding group, but I do not blame them. Okay took all day for food, putting the table back up and getting the cash bar and open bar schedules together. Which all seems bad enough everyone made the best out of it because the day was about the happy couple not our stomachs and WE surely didn't pay for it ourselves, so what was there to really complain about. Okay nitty gritty time with no bias: Decor: Simple but no sign of chic Management/Employees: Small staff, management is for shit Location: I mean it was out of MY way but I guess its cool for people in that area (???) Food: The chicken was the BOMB! and so was the salad Drinks: I showed a little leg for extra strong drinks -I totally needed it though Bottom Line: I wouldn't have anything there even if it was free
