I truly cannot sing her praises high enough. From the moment I arrived that morning to the very last minute of the night, Eva was by my side whenever I needed her. I had the bridal suite rented for the day, and she was there first thing to greet me with a smile and then stayed all the way until the end helping us pack everything up. She easily spent 16 hours making sure every detail was handled so my husband and I did not have to stress for a single second. Eva is the perfect mix of fun, kind and refreshingly candid. She told me exactly what to expect throughout the day so there were no surprises, no confusion and zero stress. She kept everything running smoothly without ever feeling overbearing or rushed. One moment that really shows who she is: during our bridal luncheon, we realized I had miscounted the number of sandwiches we needed. As the first couple to get married within our families and not having attended many weddings of our own, we had little direction of what a wedding looks like and how it's typically run. Meyer's Castle and our coordinator Eva, made the planning and execution as smooth as possible, down to the very last minute on the castle grounds. Although Eva was our "day of coordinator", she was available to us ever since January and was our go-to for any questions or concerns. Her real magic though was on the wedding day where she was truly like a fairy godmother. We brought our own decor instead of renting through Meyers, and since we didn't want to burden her with setting up everything on her own we had asked a few friends to come early to help her. However, by the time my friends arrived, Eva had the reception and ceremony areas all decorated to my vision! She was behind the scenes all day making sure mishaps could be avoided or go unnoticed. The resident peacock, as stunning as he is, wanted to fight with his own reflection in the mirror during the ceremony, but Eva made sure no mirrors were broken or peacocks injured. She also constantly checked in on us to make sure all our needs were met. We toured Meyer's Castle in autumn and came back for our meal tastings in winter, so we weren't sure what the place would be like in summer. We chose Pond's Landing as our ceremony spot, and by the time the ceremony began there was ample shade covering most of guests from the August sun. The venue is picturesque so photos taken anywhere on the grounds is bound to be gorgeous. We had such a fun and lovely day, and many of our friends complimented how beautiful the venue was and nice we decorated it. My daughter got married at the Castle on a very steamy but sunny day in August. Everything from the rehearsal the morning of the wedding through the after party in the Speak Easy was a DREAM. The grounds were stunning. The ballroom was beautiful - and nice and cool! The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. The bride and groom's carriage ride was beautiful and like a fairy tale. The bridal suite was stunning. The Castle delivered what it advertised. BUT the KEY to making this event WORK was the wedding coordinator, Eva Demoff. From initial meeting with my daughter and her husband through midnight the night of the wedding, Eva was INCREDIBLE. She was always available to answer our dozens of questions leading up to the event and even gave her cell number to the entire bridal party at the rehearsal the morning of the wedding in case ANYONE needed to contact her throughout the day! Eva was everywhere all the time on the day of the wedding. She shepherded the band, photographers, videographer, the bridal party, the families, the guests as they needed to be set up, lined up, or seated. She got the boys' boutonnieres pinned on. She even helped us get my daughter's impossible bustle fastened after the ceremony! She thought of every detail that would make a wedding ceremony in extreme heat more enjoyable. We waited over a year for the special date our kids picked to get married on. After weeks of beautiful fall weather - our day had thunderstorms predicted! I believe that any other venue would have given up on the weather and moved the ceremony inside. Meyer's Castle is not just any other venue! Not only is it a very special and unique property but the staff couldn't have been more patient and helpful with assuring the bride that the special day she had been dreaming of for so long would go on as planned! Attended a wedding here a few weeks ago with 200+ other friends and family. From the minute we arrived there was confusion. Another wedding in the same area was just ending as we were directed there. A family member was asked to block the first two rows for the bridal party. Ran out of chairs so people were trying g to sit up front. No help of venue to assist. There was only one bathroom allowed to be used because the other wedding was now in cocktail hour using the other. Our cocktail hr was full Of appetizers but most of the servers didn't have utensils to serve or napkins. Gross Dinner was served cold and most of the guests left the plates full. Beer and water on the floor in the Restroom was never attended to. I personally witnessed staff eating off the dessert table and boxing extras while we were helping take down the decor. My son and now wife married here last month, and with the wonderful Wedding Coordinator, Eva. The grounds and staff were absolutely perfect! I will tell you, it rained and rained that day and they so wanted their ceremony outdoors before the indoor reception. Eva, the wedding coordinator, had a calm under that stress and pressure of logistics and timing. She was masterful in working with the couple, the affected vendors and other people on pivoting plans and then even communicating to the arriving guests about Plan A or Plan B as we watched radar. Well, it ALL worked out and the ceremony happened outdoors with some sprinkles, but oh the bride (my daughter-in-law!) received her dream to be outdoors for her lovely ceremony. Eva was poised and organized and friendly and professional. She worked closely with the bridal party, the separate gals and guys portions, the catering, the florist, the musicians, the photographers and DJ. She was extremely respectful and mindful in her considerations of who needed to be communicated about what and when. ALSO, at the rehearsal, I almost forgot to mention, she really "set the stage" for the wedding day, obviously running through the rehearsal, but very importantly reminding all that if anything came up to leave the bride and groom on their own to let them enjoy their day and that's what she and the bridal party appointees were there to help with the day of the wedding. Now, the Meyer's Castle was just MARVELOUS. So many guests were enthralled and in awe of the grounds and interior spaces and details. The cocktail hour in the "speakeasy" feeling place was awesome with a live band playing, and good room to mingle and enjoy the setting, and then the dining room area and dance floor that followed were spacious, safe, ample to see and hear everything. What an awesome day it was and memories to forever be cherished at Meyer's Castle, and having Eva on board for the event was so extremely helpful and put the day at ease in good hands and competence. This place is very pretty. Went to a wedding anniversary celebration. Didn't get to explore all the grounds though. That was a bummer. Have a shuttle service from parking lot to take you to the venue. Once we arrived, driver directed us. He didn't tell us how treacherous the steps were! Narrow and concrete and slick! I had to take my time considering I was in a long dress with heels. Truly looks like a castle inside (dark, moody, lots of wood, real fireplace). Food was tasty. We read all the reviews and wonder how many are fake. We did not experience anything but conflict with "THE CASTLE" as they like to be called. There is a huge lack of communication. A huge lack of answering emails or phone calls. Our original coordinator disappeared and we weren't notified until January that she was on leave since November. Do not take anything they "say" without having it put into writing as well. We found this out after "K" told us candles were ok but failed to say there was an upcharge. But again she was on leave and they found it hard to believe she would omit the upcharge for linens. The coordinator they assigned to us may have tried her best but fell short in many ways. She was basically the middleman to take our questions back to "THE CASTLE" So much time would've been saved if "THE CASTLE" would've just been grown ups and dealt with us directly. She had promised she would have a team on the day of the wedding to decorate. Thankfully we showed up with several family members to help because there was no team. We did it all. Food was served cold and tasteless. Found out 10 days before our wedding there would be another wedding and theirs was first so our 2 hours to decorate the ceremony area was not allowed. We were only able to decorate because the bride of the wedding before ours gave us permission to decorate if she could use it. She had no decorations for the area. At clean up, one of their cleanup staff who spoke another language commented that "the dumb white MFers are so slow and don't know what they're doing" my daughter understood his language. We started clean up at 10:15 so lucky for him we didn't wait til 11:00 to started. Dessert was never announced nor was the ice cream dessert served to the guests at their tables. Meyers is a beautiful venue but lacks in all other areas especially professionalism. If your heart is set on having your event here, do your tasting first!! Document everything. I hosted my husband's 50th birthday at Meyer's Castle. Eva was our onsite coordinator. This was a magnificent event. We rented the speakeasy and the east canopy room. Meyer's Castle castle is an amazing venue for a special occasion due to its fairytale and elegant atmosphere, beautiful landscape, Jacobethan architecture, opulent interior and delicious food. However, their staff does not have the same attention to detail. While I informed our coordinator of our attendee's food allergies prior to our event, two attendees were served food they were allergic to. I informed the staff who took the plates away and brought back another plate indicating they fixed the issue. However, after eating some of the food that was "fixed" for them, two of the bridal party members ending up getting sick and had to leave the reception. This was sad since they put in so much time, effort and money leading up to the wedding. Food allergies are no joke and it was obvious the staff didn't appreciate this or care to truly fix the problem. Upon closer inspection, it looked like the staff pushed off the offending food and brought it back out. Also, our coordinator forgot to order the specified hors d'oeuvres so our cocktail hour was lacking and we got the blame for her mistake. Additionally, we were told that there would be only one wedding a night at the Castle which wasn't the case for us since they had two weddings that night. Many times throughout the night I couldn't find our coordinator and I could only assume it was due to her being at the other wedding. Despite several mishaps, we made sure we had an amazing night celebrating the newly married couple. However, we were disappointed with Meyer's Castle due to the lack of honesty, poor quality of staff and the inadequate management of the wedding/reception by our coordinator so use caution if you're considering this venue especially if your attendees have food allergies. read more

BRIDES: do not do it!!! Horrible experience. If I could go back I 100000% would. It was a SAUNA on my wedding date 8/6/22. Unsafe temperature for anyone but specially older people. 2-3 staff for a wedding of 200, Servers were horrible (but I was charged a 20% gratuity fee in my contract). The servers don't even receive that fee. Huge industrial fans, actual HOLE In the wall. The icing on the cake was when I sent my review to the old woman who has worked there for years, her response was nothing less of blatant lies. She claimed "nobody complained about the heat" I had complained, my husband was told they were working on the air, 10 family members/friends complained. pictures show everyone sweating beyond belief. She also said " someone said it was cold" it was 100+ in that room (the large reception room with balcony is what we had) she is a complete liar and disgusting. I am shocked the better business bureau has not shut them down yet. (Working with them currently) The are unethical, tacky, and liars. I hope and pray nobody else has to endure what we did. Gardens/greenery, a speakeasy, the fairytale bridal suite, the ballroom, peacocks- The grounds were SPECTACULAR. The food- DELICIOUS. I was a guest at my cousin's wedding at Meyer's Castle. My experience was beyond satisfactory. Everything from the venue to the food was great. The chicken and mashed potatoes tasted delicious, like home made. The property is very beautiful as well. The Castle itself is located in the middle on top of a hill surrounded by a huge green gardens. A collection of old pictures and gold framed mirrors was cool to see, it gave that extra mysterious castelish feel. Btw, you can't just walk in. It's gated, so you must be invited or book this place for your own event. I grew up loving fairytales, castles and fantastical creatures, and having my wedding at Meyer's Castle was a truly MAGICAL experience! The scenery is gorgeous, their bridal suite is so fancy (and has a shower! wow!), plenty of space to get ready for the big day while getting pampered, and peacocks running around preening, showing their beautiful teal feathers for everyone to see. What a sight that was! I can't speak highly enough of the owner & crew: Elizabeth, the owner, was so kind to my mother after my fiancé and I decided to postpone our wedding - not once, but TWICE! - due to the pandemic and all of the restrictions surrounding it. I have a lot of family overseas from many different countries and some of them wouldn't have been able to make it if we had to do the wedding on our original date, May 30th of 2020. Carolyn, our day-of coordinator, wasn't there for just the day-of, she was there for us the whole TWO YEARS!! She is super responsive and answered probably like ten thousand questions I've had by now, helped us have two different cake and food tastings on two separate occasions due to all of the time that passed, and was so accommodating in every possible way. Not to mention how she was also extremely helpful during the day-of and helped keep us calm while we felt nervous. Carolyn alone deserves 5 stars! Kate took over our rehearsal dinner the night before and she also helped during the day-of. She is not only extremely professional but super hilarious, too! She made all of us at ease with her down to earth attitude and helped answer all of the last-second odds and ends questions we had when we were feeling frazzled. Lisa, the floral designer, was incredible from start to finish. She sat with us multiple times over the two years to go over color schemes and found the EXACT colors I wanted (slightly more purplish mauve rather than pinkish, etc.) and she helped to deliver the most beautiful floral arrangements that she could come up with within our budget. Lisa is a complete ROCK STAR!! The food was fantastic, the cake flavors we picked were tantalizing - especially their house flavor, creme brulee vanilla! And the accommodated all of our vegetarian friends with an amazing eggplant primavera dish - which I liked so much I had to have it, too! The venue itself is gorgeous, we had the lounge for our pianist during cocktail hour, which was super classy, and then the reception hall itself is magnificent. To say that this venue is beautiful is such an understatement. We held our daughter's rehearsal dinner in the Oak Room, ceremony at the gazebo, and reception in the West Canopy Ballroom. If you're looking for a gorgeous venue to host a truly magical event, this is your spot. From the grounds to the decor to the food and the peacocks, everything was perfect! Make sure you ask for Eva when you consider coordinating services. She is organized, detail oriented, and an absolute blast to be with. AVOID booking this venue at all cost (because it will cost you). Up front, they are very accomodating, helpful, and pleasant but are dishonest about their policy. We planned for our wedding reception to be held here and the total cost was going to be in the neighborhood of $7000. When we put down the deposit, $950, we were told this was non-refundable and nothing else was mentioned about refunding payments if we had to cancel, nothing in writing. As we went along, we paid another $1400. As we were getting ready to pay another installment of $2100, we had an incident which meant we had to cancel the reception. That is when they hit you. On your cancelation form is where they essentially inform you they will not refund ANY of your money. At first? Just the deposit. After the fact? None of it. Thank God we did not give them another $2100. When you call to dispute or question the policy, their cancelation department cannot be reached and is independent of the Meyer's Castle office. This place is completely shady. They mislead, deceive, and then remain unavailable. We still have not received a response to our last request for an explanation of why we are not getting a refund on our $1400. I can imagine this venue made a FORTUNE from the canceled events from COVID and more than likely didn't refund one cent from months of forced cancelations.
