Moisus was unavailable, so he sent an employee. I paid $950 for the inspection, which I later learned included only a verbal report--an absurd price for no written documentation. When I requested a written report, they invoiced me $250 more, which I didn't receive until January 2024, six months after hiring them. Later, I needed further services for my builder issues. Moisus suggested additional scans but failed to disclose costs. He later invoiced $350 for a vague 20-minute Zoom call with no definitive answers, promising a report by Dec 30, which I never received. When I expressed dissatisfaction, he warned me to "be careful what I say" because he might need to testify as an expert witness. He backtracks, withholds information, and invents charges. I do not recommend A-1 Engineering.

It's very detailed and structured. From checking if foundation is in place, if there cracks in nook and corner to any cosmetic changes, they include it all. They can also check The health of your pipes (if they have any debris from construction ) as an additional service . They found out some nice flaws that saved us lot of money. Progress was slow, emails / calls asking for status were ignored, and final approvals for the City never provided (I gave up and hired a different firm to finish the job). This team has real trouble keeping track of its projects. But oddest of all, when I picked up the plans a nervous office manager implied I didn't intend to pay my bill simply because I wanted a quick glance to review them for accuracy. Apparently she thought I would run out the door with the plans in my hand. Really? If this firm is worried about getting paid for slow work and poor communication, perhaps it would be smarter to ask new customers for a deposit upfront instead of insulting them.
