Absolutely thrilled with KM Builders!!! We had a large project, total kitchen makeover and master bath remodel. Also took up carpeting and tile (except in bedrooms) and installed luxury vinyl plank flooring. It was a long processes, but the precision and attention to detail throughout, was amazing. Initial extensive assessment was on 31 Dec 2019. The entire team was professional. Courtney my designer was awesome. My greatest fear was making bad choices, expensive bad choices. No fear, if I strayed from the path, she subtlely redirected. When we finally began work, it was the last week in Aug 2020 (thank you Covid) It went beyond all expectations. All of the tradesmen were great. I was at work a majority of the time, but felt my home was safe. Communication was good. Any issues were quickly addressed. Kudos to all involved with the project but special thanks to project managers Tony and Luis. Luis had to pick up the project near the end when Tony had surgery and smoothly took over. Painters Miguel and Erasmus, Rudy, Alvin, Rob, Dan et al Pumbers, tiling and electricians were great too. 13 weeks later, mission accomplished. From the first time we met with Keith we knew KMBuilders was going to be our choice for our kitchen remodeling project. Keith, as he does with all his prospective clients, is the first one your will meet with to discuss your home remodeling project. Keith listened to all our initial ideas for a kitchen makeover and based on his many years of builder's experience, he was able to explain many different design options that could potentially be accomplished based on our personal desires. It was great to have Keith open our eyes to all the various things that could be incorporated into our kitchen remodel plans. What a professional and knowledgeable individual. Keith provided us with all the information we asked about concerning KMBuilders and presented conceptions of what KMBuilders could do to support our design experience. There were so many kind, professional, and technically skilled folks involved in our project. During the design process we had Morgan overseeing every aspect of the design. Marsha was our design coordinator, Bob took care of architectural details, Anna - interior designer, and Josh - Architectural designer (fantastic 3-D renderings), and Bonnie was our cabinet planner. The designers were always there to offer their expertise & advice and helped ensure my wife was able to make the proper selections that would best produce & support the design effects the wife wanted to achieve. The designers even took the time to go shopping with my wife to assist in various selections of products and material. As we moved into the construction phase, another whole group of individuals from the KM team was there to support us. But first I want to mention the great communications throughout the entire construction phase. Your whole construction project is scheduled in advance and available for you to view using the Builder App. There you'll be able to view what is planned for your project on a day by day basis, with daily progress updates, pictures, related documents, etc. Everything concerning your project is there and available to you 24/7. When construction starts you'll also receive daily texts messages each morning advising you on who is showing up that day and what they will be working on. Key individuals involved in the construction phase. Of course Keith, who stays personally involved with every aspect of your project, Mike the Production Coordinator, Chad, Luis, our personal Project Manager Zach (outstanding individual, knowledgeable, easy to communication with, always available to answer any questions that may arise), Rob and Henry on demo & hauling crew (very professional and neat), Daniel on framing, Rene and others as trim carpenters, I also believe Erasmo, Manuel, and Miguel at times. Jerry the painting supervisor (keen eye for detail, won't let anything get by him), and also the plumbers and electricians were very skilled at their work. Throughout the entire construction project at our home, every crew that worked each day in our home cleaned up after finishing their days work. No tools or debris to trip on.  Made it very easy and safe to walk around and take a look at what had been accomplished during the day. Want to also recognize Kelly and Tara in the front office. Sarah in marketing (very sweet and helpful young lady) and Lexus the Marketing Designer. Lexus also assisted the wife in putting things back in order in her kitchen after the construction finished, and she did an outstanding job of documenting our experience and creating & presenting our gorgeous kitchen in a video. Keith always said KMBuilders would treat us like family, and based on our own experience, we truly felt like part of the KM family. I was in the market for blown-in insulation, so I called KM Builders and scheduled an appointment for an attic measuring and estimate. A member of the office staff told me, in such a tone that suggested I should be impressed, that the owner Keith Moehle will personally come meet with me. So Mr. Moehle comes out and immediately starts trying to sell me on products I did not express interest in when I called. My bullsh*t detector goes off, but I give him the benefit of the doubt. When leaving, I ask Mr. Moehle when I can expect my estimate. He says after the weekend: 3-4 days. After a week I call and ask the office staff where my estimate is. They say they'll as Mr. Moehle. After two weeks I call and ask more forcefully, "where's my estimate?" They say they'll as Mr. Moehle. After two and a half weeks, I start badgering them and finally they send me an estimate. I follow up the emailed estimate with a few questions, but a week and a half after that I still have not received a response. Actually, after the first week of waiting for the estimate, I knew I wouldn't hire them, but since they wasted an afternoon for me--stayed home from work--I figured I deserved an estimate. So here is my conclusion: 1) They try to upsell you with products they claim will save you lots of money. Maybe the products are great, but if you're expecting someone to come out and bid on a specific project, but instead they bring out the dog and pony show, can they be trusted? 2) If you have to badger a contractor to send you an estimate, ...if you have to badger them to give them money, what does this say about them? What if the contractor gets his down payment for the job and then "hems and haws" on when they'll be showing up like they did for the estimate? I am not saying they do this sort of thing, but their behavior makes me a little nervous. 3) The meeting with Mr. Moehle again set off my bull detector when he started boasting about his 80 employees and radio show on WOAI radio. I didn't know he had a show, but if I paid WOAI for a weekly show about shoe laces vs. velcro straps, I am sure they'd give me air time too. A pay for play radio show doesn't necessarily translate into reliability. 4) KM Builders gave me an estimate of $2,400 for blown-in insulation. At an industry standard of $0.40/foot, that would mean I have a 6,000 square foot attic, which it isn't. Another local firm, Williams Insulation estimated $426, which was a very professionally priced bid. Mr. Moehle might give me a song and dance on William's inferior fiberglass products, and thus, their cheaper price ...but he is unresponsive. read more

I had KM do our Kitchen remodel and it exceeded our expectations! Beautiful work, on time, professional...would highly recommend!!

I just got off the phone with the builder's receptionist. My review has nothing to do with their services but everything to do with one of their people driving their company truck in our traffic. Their driver almost caused a major 4-car accident on one of our freeways by coming to a dead stop on the inside lane, which is the passing lane in Texas. It appeared this driver was having issues with the truck behind him, consequently the dead stop in our lane. I'll let you know whether or not the owner of this company addressed this dangerous issue to his employee. Hopefully the driver isn't the owner. IF it is, he should apologize for such an irresponsible way of driving on our roads and for putting other people's life at risk. If nothing is done, I'll never consider them for remodeling. KM Builders installed 14 new windows in our home. The job was quick and clean. Our lives were hardly disrupted. The windows are high quality at a great price. What a dramatic difference compared to Window World who replaced six windows in our home and turned our lives upside down. W.W. did sloppy work. The windows do not open easily. They did not have enough men on the job and it took several days to complete because they measured incorrectly a few times. When I complained about the workmanship, the owner of W.W. replied that "even Tim Duncan occasionally has a bad day." Please save yourself a lot of stress and anguish, do not use W.W.. Instead, call KM Builders and get your windows done right. read more

This time I hired a contractor, and man the difference is night and day. I hired them, and I'm glad that I did! I've had handy man help in my home over the years and the work just never seemed to be up to par. I had a complete bathroom renovation, popcorn ceiling removal, drywall work, and flooring installed in my home and I'm extremely pleased. Their people are respectful, their craftsmanship is awesome, and they clean up after themselves. The project manager kept me abreast of the project at all times and answered any questions I had along the way. These guys are for real. If you need to get it done right - don't mess with the rest - hire the best! read more

We have been preparing to have some remodeling done in our master bath. I've had the opportunity to visit and talk to some homeowners regarding their experience with KM on their past projects. Very favorable and satisfied customers, a couple were second and third projects. The remodels were beautiful! I Like the detailed contract with line items vs. the Contractor who provided a bulk contract with few details. KM has a nice design team, show room has many selections. I would NEVER recommend this Company!!!!!!! My husband and I hired this Company to put on a New Roof on our home a few years ago by K M Construction which is now K M Builders, same people, different name. There was a Hail Storm a few years back when we had to look for a Roofer, we received a nuber of bids for the Hail Damaged Roof when we picked K M Construction to replace our roof that was not leaking. Our New 30 year Roof that we paid over $5,000.00 dallers for has Leaked from the Day that K M Builders put it on and it is still LEAKING.. K M Builders has come to our home on a number of times to do nothing, they will not replace or fix the problem that they made. We had to call our Home Insurance Co. to come out to inspect our roof and we were told the the materials that was used was of the poorest of quality and should not have ever been put on a house. We contacted K M and they came back out and looked at our roof and agreed that it needed to be replaced and let us know that they were going to look for our contract, we received a call a few days later and was told they were unable to find our contract and have not fixed our roof. We even contacted the BBB to try and get this matter resolved and K M stated we never informed them of this problem. This has been going on for over 6 years and now there is nothing that we can do but buy a New Roof and have a different Contractor put it in. read more

I don't write reviews often but I'm tired of chasing people down for work! We had a remodel job and needed a estimate. Rep came out to house and took pictures and measurements and proceeded to tell us how great they are. He said he would call us in a day or two with a "ballpark" figure. Well, its been three weeks and no contact. The rep gave us an example of a bid that was for someone else with scratch outs and red lines. My BS meter went off also. Seemed like they think we should chase them not the other way around. Too bad for them, this was just a start for us as we are totally remodeling each room one room at a time and doing a huge outdoor living area. Short review: I do NOT recommend hiring this company. They talk a good game. But dealing with them is another story. I wish we had done more research on this company before hiring them. It seems our experience is not at all unusual. Details: We hired KM Builders to re-side our house with Hardy board, paint it, replace 11 windows, install gutters and a couple of other small jobs. We signed the contract in June. Work was finally started in December and completed in March. So much for being done by November like they claimed! The fact that the initial letter they gave us to sign was incorrect should have been a red flag. Then, our start date kept getting pushed further and further back. Excuses were offered. They had to fire a team, it rained (it had rained for a week), etc. I will bullet point the worst parts of dealing with them: * 7 of the 11 windows were installed incorrectly. We had to pester them to fix the problem. Our project manager and a window rep came to our house after we noticed the problem. It was determined that the installation was the problem. Pictures and notes were taken back to the owner. Then nothing for several weeks. My husband had to call the owner and tell him to come out to see the problem for himself. So, we had to have the project manager and the window company representative come out AGAIN, this time with the owner, so he could see for himself and hear again that the problem was installation. He apologized profusely at that time, yet it took him almost three weeks and my husband calling him personally for action to be taken? Doesn't seem genuine to us. Then we had to wait for them to send a team to fix the windows. * We'd thought about adding a small covered porch to the front of our house. During the initial conversation the owner ball parked a $5,000 price tag and said they'd give us two or three designs to choose from. When he came to our house to show us the plans, the cost was $9,300. He saw our shock and claimed this was the "more expensive version" and that "they" didn't give him the cheaper version of the plan. So much for the different designs to choose from. We did NOT add the porch. * The calking job on several of the windows was terrible (looked like air bubbles had popped all along it) or wasn't done at all. * They broke old windows removing them, which wasn't unexpected. However, I would expect them to put in some effort to clean up the shards of glass from the floor. * The painters didn't cover our sliding back door properly so we had to scrape dots of paint off the whole thing. Not a big deal, but we shouldn't have had to do it. There were also scratches in the paint in our hallway that were not there before the window installation. The one good thing about the company: Their workers are extremely professional to communicate with. read more

I wanted to take a few moments and thank KM Builders for a job well done. After many attempts to solve a most frustrating water problem with an after-market French Door at my residence I am finally convinced there are honest and reputable contractors in San Antonio. I have had many bouts with missed dates, missed call-backs, missed expectations prior to contacting KM Builders. I heard of this company while listening to local talk radio. A testament to the benefits of advertising. In fairness, we did get off to a rocky start. Specifically the timeliness and attention to the quotation process - I was ready to write KM off as one more of the same. But, I was truly impressed with the owner, Keith's promptness in addressing my concern personally. After agreeing to a scope of work I was even more impressed with his commitment to do a job right. Here are some notable examples: Their team ALWAYS showed up on time and on schedule I was continually kept in the loop as to milestones and activity Everyone who visited my home was courteous and conscious of my property They got the job done on time and UNDER budget I am as guilty as the next person in losing site of the little things that really set KM Builders apart. The first day on the job their team actually put down plastic on the carpet (including the stairs) prior to doing anything. WOW! I was dreading a mess and there was none! They even vacuumed the floor before they left. Their team managed to patch a drywall ceiling (and texture, and paint) without having a house full of dust! The kicker for me is that they were very straight forward from the beginning. Personally speaking, it was a common understanding that they needed to run a business and I needed a problem solved. Too often we lose sight of the win-win. I can tell you from my personal experience I would not hesitate to recommended KM Builders to anyone. read more

We have been dreaming of a new kitchen for years. Even had other re modelers tell us the job was too small for them. Heard your ads on the local radio station and met KM Builders at the Home Show so we decided to give you a chance and boy are we glad we did. You listened to what we wanted and suggested alternatives that we had not considered. You gave us an honest and fair appraisal and came in on budget and on time. Your workers were excellent and very proud of the work they did. They cleaned up the job site every day taking extreme care in every thing they did. Now we have the kitchen we dreamed of and couldn't be any happier. Thanks for everything Keith we will forever spread the word that KM Builders is the best in the business. read more

My wife and I wanted to extend our living area by adding a nice patio cover over our existing deck on the rear of our house. After talking to several roofing/remodeling companies, we found out that because of the existing roof line of our house it was not as simple as building a cover attached to the house. The patio roof would need to be built into the existing roof. It wasn't until we spoke to the team from KM Builders that I felt comfortable that the project would look good and function well running off the water when completed. Keith is the owner and he came to our house personally to make sure we had all our questions answered. We decided to have KM Builders build the patio cover and replace the roof. We have absolutely no regrets, they did a great job. We met with the design team to discuss what we wanted. They drew up the design and offered options while working with our budget to get the patio cover that we wanted. They handled all of the permits and approval from the HOA. The whole project was very well planned and there were no surprises. Communication was great. We got a text everyday letting us know what work would be done that day. Every KM employee was courteous, polite and respectful. Their workmanship is first class. The patio is beautiful, no one would ever now that the cover was not part of the original structure. My wife and I highly recommend KM Builders to anyone looking for a remodeling company. read more

We were quite impressed with this company when we saw them present at the Home and Garden Show, with their approach to use "universal planning" to make the remodel fit the homeowner. We paid them to draw up the plans and hired them. That's when the nightmare began and it was not over for 18 months! We had a revolving door of site managers who did not supervise the subcontractors they hired. When it became apparent the original plans had errors, and we pointed it out, we were hit with additional costs, every time. Mr Moehle is unethical and bullies you after the contract is signed. The few concessions they made were only given after much documentation on our part (with their threat to take US to court)! They talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. Every step was delayed because they overextend themselves...and act as though it was our, the customer's, fault. We finally had to pay them for work they didn't do, taking work away, to get this nightmare over with. If you hire them, get a lawyer to review the contract before you sign - they are masters at writing it so you pay for their errors! So disappointing. read more

We had a wall that the recent wind-blown rains had done a number on--rot in the bottom of the wall from seepage. The entire wall needed replacement. The engineer came out and was friendly and professional--worked up a price pretty quickly. When it became clear that the entire floor also needed replacing, they worked up a second quote, which came in higher than our regular flooring folks'. We contracted with KM for the wall and they started on time, did their work professionally and within the projected time frame. When it became clear that the foundation (which was an original patio) would not behave as expected, the owner (Keith) came out to explain the options for fixing the problem. We chose what appeared to be the best method and they proceeded. The demo, framing, exterior, interior, electrical and framing were done as well as I've ever seen. The project manager was courteous and prompt. Great work at a reasonable price. read more
