My favorite part of this park is the glacial erratic that's just to the side of the skate park. Though not as mighty as the Lake Stevens erratic, this one is pretty darn impressive. Parking is plentiful and there's a porta-john on site for that need.

After parking my car, I went to the skate park and checked out a sculpture piece added in 2008 with the skate park, per the website as of 1 August 2023 the main park itself is approximately 40 years old. After setting a self-timer on my phone and taking a picture of myself having fun, I went and explored the main park area. A large grassy area had yellow grass, a reminder of low rainfall paired with summer heat. Birds chirped along the border on one side of the park, chirping as they flitted about in with the blooming wildflowers. I could hear a Steller's jay calling from the direction of an area of trailer homes bordering another side of the park. A group was using the playground and a fenced basketball area had its gate open for use.

After missing one of the parking areas, I turned up the road by a sign along the street for the park. Just up the road and to the right is a small parking area abutting a paved area with basketball hoops and benches, a small red restroom building, a skate park, and a playground. Mine was the only car in the parking lot both when I arrived and when I left. Up the hills by the skate park is a trail into the woods. On a stump just in the trees was a chickaree (North American red squirrel). In addition to the first red squirrel, I heard others calling from the trees as I walked. The trees along the trails are tall and provided protection from the rays of the sun. Shade cast on the ground was cool. Along the trails were different flowers in bloom and ripening salmonberries. In my approximately half an hour at the park, I encountered vocal sparrows, a rufous-sided towhee, a bunny rabbit, a gray squirrel, and foraging woodpeckers. All around an enjoyable morning adventure.

Awesome new park that just opened. The park is located right next to the parking lot and has lots…read moreof outdoor space. This park is part of Jennings Nature Park and has lots of walking trails. The park is handicap accessible with a ramp up to the top level of the playground. There are two age group playgrounds. The sign that is posted says 5-7 but a 3 year old can easily play on the little playground with lots of slides. There are no swings however, but there are public bathrooms that were very clean. The park is also connected to the skate park. There are a few picnic benches for lunch time but no covered areas to escape the rain. The park is not fenced off so you need to keep an eye out for little ones. It is an awesome park with lots of activities to keep little ones entertained.

People who have dog need to have a poop bag(s) on them at ALL times. They also need to follow the…read morerules/laws. Just like you hope they do when driving. However, I've seen people walk to the park without a leash while my two dogs struggle on their leashes because they get approached and usually want to play. It's a mess. There is always ALWAYS dog poop left along the side of the trail that leads to the park. Good: nice run area with shady places. Most dogs are friendly. It's an easy to access off-leash park and they PROVIDE poop bags on rolls at both ends of the park. There is a trash receptacle inside the park, just outside the gate and a big dumpster in the parking area. Bad: a volunteer at the park does not leash his dog, (if he even owns one) and throws his cigarette butts on the ground everywhere. He also will throw away ANY water bowl someone leaves for the dogs. I know it's a rule to not share dog bowls but the dogs don't know that. Willis Tucker, Clark Park and others I've been to leave bowls of water and no one throws them in the trash. The community agrees it's ok and some even bring big water containers to refill. Many people who come regularly do it to socialize with others which is great but they don't pay attention to their dogs who I've seen poop which leaves a LOT of dog poop all over the place. It's a shame that over the 14 years I've been coming here that with the extreme population that has occurred in Lake Stevens that several visitors DO give a literal sh*t.

COVID-era review: My family came here for a short hike on the trails. There were a number of…read morepeople at the playground/skate park even though it was technically closed. The trails were relatively well maintained but not particularly wide and, as others have said - quite a bit of garbage around. Lots of fun things to look at and very accessible for our kids. I did notice that a number of trees look like they are unhealthy and perhaps needed to be taken down. Lots of shade for a warm day.

All and all this skatepark is SMALL. There is one 8ft section of quarter in a pretty sweet corner bowl. This bowl is 200 or so degrees around with weird noping hips out of it. The angles are all kinda weird. Even after you blast it, there is no where to go but to the hip: then your run is over. Definitely lots of small kids in the mix. A graffiti wall and climbing wall are nearby, but aside from the smell of fresh spray paint, they're no bother. For me the real thing that stinks about this park is that it's so nibble. I give it three stars because it is expressly BMX friendly and the bowl section is good for more that a few minute session. It gets the fourth star just because every skatepark is a good place in my book:) Most skateparks in Seattle are better, and by being grateful and having good etiquette, you can usually ride at any skatepark that isn't the Metrocenter.

Not sure they'd let you use theirs anyway. There is no parking lot. The YMCA lot doesn't allow for park parking. You have to park on the street. There is usually close parking available. There is no shade. It gets really hot during the summer. All in all, I like the park for its age range. I wish there was a bathroom. We've had to leave early a bunch of times because we need a bathroom.
