I found an abundance of different wildlife out and about at Lynndale Park this morning, arrived about 7:07 a.m. on Thursday 25 May 2023, and the sun was shining and warm. After missing one of the parking areas, I turned up the road by a sign along the street for the park. Just up the road and to the right is a small parking area abutting a paved area with basketball hoops and benches, a small red restroom building, a skate park, and a playground. Mine was the only car in the parking lot both when I arrived and when I left. Up the hills by the skate park is a trail into the woods. On a stump just in the trees was a chickaree (North American red squirrel). In addition to the first red squirrel, I heard others calling from the trees as I walked. The trees along the trails are tall and provided protection from the rays of the sun. Shade cast on the ground was cool. Along the trails were different flowers in bloom and ripening salmonberries. In my approximately half an hour at the park, I encountered vocal sparrows, a rufous-sided towhee, a bunny rabbit, a gray squirrel, and foraging woodpeckers. Many reasons to like this park, but this review is specifically re: being the parent of a 2 year old. My daughter was running near the the playground on our way out, having just adventured through all the various park toys. Near the bathrooms there is a long trench that runs across the entire patio. It's difficult to tell at first glance, but the trench is actually quite obtrusive to walk over. Not noticing the trench, my daughter caught her foot and face planted on the cement. You might be thinking to yourself, "Parental fail! Why weren't you watching her?" Welp, Yelp, we absolutely were! Only we were deceived as much as she was about the trench. It's easy to miss, and I'm likely not the first to have this happen. Like I said, plenty of great things about this park. Just a bit lame that something like this hasn't been addressed considering how many children (and likely old folks) spend time here. It's a primary walkway in this area of the park, so you'd think they would cover the trip hazards (literally). read more

This park is INCREDIBLE! My boyfriend and I randomly happened upon it one day on a walk around my neighborhood and I was ecstatic we found it. Despite being very close 196th, the park is really tucked away. The only real evidence of it from the road is via the skate park along Olympic View Drive. However, if you follow the paths up the hill into the woods, you will find far more than just a skate park. There are asphalt paths and broken-in trails that lead you up to tennis courts, a small amphitheater, a couple of baseball fields, basketball courts, a beautiful covered picnic area, several play areas for children, small rock climbing walls, and a lot of grassy, open space. There is a school adjacent to all of this as well. In addition to this, you can always wander the trails through the woods for some time - the paths often split off and seem nearly endless. We happened upon a rope swing hanging from a beautiful old tree, which was a nice find. Everything is very well maintained and clean, which really impressed me. I will definitely be back to this park. I am so happy I found such an amazing gem in my neighborhood! read more

This park has a lot of amenities and walking trails, but it can be oppressively dark, even at noon. I know a lot of folks enjoy it, but it's one of my least favorite parks in the area for that reason. If I'm going to a park shade is great, but I want to still know it's daylight. read more

It's hard to believe I'm the first to review this little gem, tucked away a couple of streets of 196th (which seems to be the Avenue to Everywhere around here). A google search for "hiking trails" in my zip code revealed it's location. No, it's not destination hiking but there's plenty for me and my two English Bulldogs to explore (they don't like long walks especially and will just STOP and refuse to go further once they're tired). There's asphalt paths and nicely wood-chipped trails too. It's going to take us awhile to completely explore this one. Since there's an especially fancy play area, I imagine folks with kids would appreciate it too. Also: huge covered picnic areas and a fancy baseball field is adjacent. I'll know to avoid during baseball season! read more

The whole play structure is in the shade! That's probably the only downside to it, because it's COLD here while the rest of the park is sunny! read more

It is definitely hidden, if you have never been here. I scouted the area and discovered a beautiful park, full of jungle gyms and swings...with plenty of picnic tables to enjoy your favorite snack before acting like a kid again! Keep on pumping those legs and reach the top of the trees, if you can! read more

Arguably one of the best parks in the area. Playgrounds, trails, shelters, tennis, basketball and an amphitheater. Been there a couple of times and been nice each time. Lots of trees and shade as well read more

Wow! A nice clean park. There's a big grassy area for football, frisbee or whatever, a basketball court, the typical monkey bar-slide set up, and.... A SPRINKLER PARK!! Several water sprayers to run around in means hours of fun! There are also picnic tables, plenty of shade, and a small ledge to sit on around the sprinkler park. My son loves this place! It is my favorite park in the area and I feel so lucky to have it. read more

Performed herer on Jul 29 as part of Greenstage Shakespeare in the park. They have developed a natural bowl into an amphitheatre. It's not bad, but the crowds are awesome! The other facilities appear top notch and were in heavy se during our show. All in all, a nice place in a very nice town. read more

Walking distance from my house so I'm here often. Their trails are smooth and well kept- perfect for running with my pup. It's very family friendly and I even occasionally go for a night jog here. It's a very safe area (I keep a knife on me still). There's not enough trail to get lost in but just enough to make you feel like you can be alone. I love that I'm lucky enough to live so close. The adjoining skate park gets my approval too, the bowl is a little too deep for my newbie skills but I love the ramps and drop ins read more

Lots of different trails at the Lynndale Park. A great pokemon spot. We saw that we can reserve BBQ places so we are going to check out the pricing for that and do a BBQ over there this summer. read more
