I came in looking for a couple of specific e-bikes. They had a great selection already but they also had my size (XS) which was IMPOSSIBLE to find anywhere else within 100 miles. Andrew helped me pick the right bike and make sure the size and fit was correct for my proportions, and explained everything throughly as we went along. They were also amazing to talk to as I had other specific parts mounted to the bike (rack, kickstand etc) and just made the entire process really effortless. I'm not a bike geek and went in here to get a new tire for my wife's bike. The employee gave me nothing but attitude and was annoyed went I didn't know exactly what I wanted. Just felt like all I was getting was attitude. Do you want a 28 or 23? I'm like I've no f-ing idea what you're talking about. He was unwilling to explain or offer any help. He's like "if you don't know what you want, how am I supposed to help you". Dude, you work in this bike shop.... I was in CO from CA for a few MTB rides and discovered my dropper post was not working. Since I suck on downhills as it is, I really depend on having a working dropper post. The post had been working fine since new after 5 years but not that day. The problem was strange and was an easy fix if one knows what to look for. I've dealt with several bike shops in over 20 years of mountain biking and I've had some great experiences with most of them, but I want to give special kudos to the staff at Bicycle Outfitters in Evergreen and Tony in particular! I've stopped in there several times with broken cables, rough shifting derailleur, or in need of tires, a tune-up, or a brake adjustment and Tony ALWAYS services my bike in short order. We drive up from Denver metro simply because they were the only shop that had decent inventory during the pandemic. We totally lucked out because what we discovered is an amazing shop with awesome service. We bought three bikes from this shop and felt really good about the advice we got and the price. Tony is awesome. I asked a million questions about bikes, components, and whether upgrades were worth it. He patiently and honestly answered each one without going into sales mode. I also test rode bikes for hours and he never seemed annoyed. He just wanted me to find the right bike. And I did! read more

Tony and team run a great shop. My impression is always that they guide me to the right purchase decision, not the most expensive one. Everyone is very nice and genuine and knowledgeable and they almost always offer to help on the spot even if they happen to be busy doing something else when I walk in (which they usually are quite busy!). This my favorite LBS. Tony, Joel, and the guys are great. Really nice inventory for serious cyclists - both roadies and off-roadies. Bike shops can certainly be intimidating for the uninitiated but these guys try to make the sport approachable. I've bought two pairs of high end shoes, custom wheels, clothes, parts, etc. and have had more than a few repairs done by Zack and the gang. Excellent repair work at reasonable prices. They're a main staging shop for the Triple Bypass so plan around that; they're always really busy in the middle of July so repairs that usually take a day or two may get pushed back a week. read more

I came in to have my Epic worked on with problems and no time. I was having some issues with my fork leaking oil and was in a huge hurry. Mark got my fork taken care of in the time it took me to go get coffee. He also noticed that one of my pivot bolts was loose and took care of it. I have had 3 bad situations and 1 good one with this shop. Today I was told that the cleats that I buy for my crank brothers pedals are not made anymore have not been made in 5 years! I'm no gear head, so I always feel slightly uncomfortable rolling my latest vintage alley find into bike shops these days. What happened to the days when bike riding was little more than enjoying fresh air and getting somewhere without being in such a hurry? Do I really need to play chicken in traffic and wear a ridiculous outfit to qualify? My bike shop test is based on whether or not they look past my weather-inappropriate fashion and understand that we all like to ride our bicycles, intense or not. I found Evergreen Bicycle Outfitters passed the test! They were very friendly. I can't believe that they're the only bike shop within a short driving distance of Evergreen. Like I said, I find my best bikes discarded in alleys, but IF I was shopping for a new set of wheels, I'm sure I'd find some options here. I was shopping all over for my first road bike this summer and was hesitant to shop anywhere in evergreen because you can just assume the prices will be higher but for all the shops I went to I was most impressed with the selection of both bikes and prices here. I of corse ended up getting my treck here and have been really impressed. The service here is not over the top but they have quality products and competitive prices and do basic maintenance for FREE with no limit on how many times a year you can come in. I also got a selection of additional goodies they carry a lot for a smaller store. read more

I think because I was not considered a serious rider by the staff the help I received was minimal at best. Friendliness and service seemed forced and not genuine. After purchasing a 2000$ road bike l got no assistance in a good fit. When I scheduled a fitting session the person who does that wasn't even there when I arrived. I live more than 30 miles from the shop but no one bothered to call me and cancel. I definitely wish I had spent my money elsewhere. read more

Great people but less than transparent pricing and poor explanations for same. I agreed to have rim brake pads replaced as part of a bike tune for "about $10 per pair", which seemed fair. Picked-up the bike and was floored to understand their was a $20 labor charge for installation. When asked to elaborate on the charge, it was explained that the torque needs to be set properly and the brakes adjusted. From my perspective using a toerque wrench rather than a hex key does not add additional labor and brake adjustments were part of the tuning per their collateral materials. Great people and high quality work. Hopefully this was an atypical customer experience. read more

We have bought at least four bicycles from Tony and each has been a great choice. They listen to your input before making a recommendation. I have tried numerous times to get info or feedback from the staff here and usually I just get a lot of attitude. I have called more than once and have left mestages and have never gotten a call in return. I am all about supporting our local businesses, but this businesses also need to know that it is the client's, the customers who keep them in business. If there was less attitude with the staff and more appreciation I would return, but for now I will shop for bike gear elsewhere! ! read more

Bought a new Yeti SB 5.5 with the Eagle upgrade from "EBO" in May 2018. I have been waiting to post this review until I rode the bike a bit and had some feedback on service. Bike is absolutely awesome! My prior bike was an ASR, which I loved. I wasn't sure whether to go with the 450B or the 29r. So glad I went with the 29r (and the Eagle upgrade)! I ride a lot locally - usually 2 - 3 times/week at Centennial Cone, 3 Sisters, Bergen and Buff Creek. I've also gotten out to Moab and Breck east side for some good rides on this bike. The 5.5 loves to climb - almost as well as my ASR did. And it loves to rip - all while looking like a goddess (it's a real piece of art in my opinion)! I really have nothing negative to say about the bike except I seem to experience more chain/gear "offset" than with my ASR. I'm not a techy so what I mean is there's a bit more rattle and the chain doesn't seem to be sitting optimally. There's got to be a name for this but I don't know it. I've had one tune up since I bought it and that fixed the "rattle" for a bit. Once I get a mile or so into the ride I don't notice it anymore. Anyway, overall I still give the bike a 9.9 out of 10. As for the shop, they are extremely knowledgeable, good at what they do and friendly. Tony was patient and helped me think things through. Sarah help me with accessory questions and the other two guys prepped the bike so the dropper was perfect and it rode like a dream right out the door. I used to go down the hill to save a few bucks. It took me a few years to learn that even if you do save some money, it's not worth it. Buy local, stay up the hill and have a shop you are comfortable with. Glad I sprung for the bike and glad I bought it from EBO. read more

We spent a few days in Evergreen, from out of state and wanted to rent mountain bikes at a shop near trails, so we didn't have to try to cram two bikes into a small rental car. I made a few calls and spoke with Andrew at Evergreen Bicycle Outfitters. He was very clear on the type of bikes they could rent, sizing options, price and gave us several trail options. Other local shops were helpful, but EBO had the best selection, pricing and location, so I decided to go with them. As soon as we walked in, Andrew and Rick helped us out, were very careful with the bike setup (pedals,fork and shock sag, seat adjustment). Rick gladly switched over the brake levers on my Santa Cruz Tallboy to match my preference. While he worked, he answered all of our questions about the various models and brands of bikes they sell, which was an interesting perspective as they are a multi-line dealer. And, they gave good directions to the trails (Elk Meadow, great riding!). Overall, I was very impressed with the shop and the staff, considering we were from out of the area and may never spend another penny there. read more
