It's been so sad to see the utter decline of WRC since Ron sold it to some greedy investor who is totally disinterested in cycling. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade, but I've decided to move on and find a shop that actually CARES about their customers. The sales team, and ESPECIALLY the service crew, seem to give less than zero of a $HIT about their customers. They look/act like zombies that just want to get customers out of the shop so that they don't have to deal with them. When Ron owned/ran the shop, it was TOTALLY customer-focused, and worked hard to make customers feel like they were there to make sure that they got what they needed to make their cycling experience the best. Now, it's seems like the focus is, "What can I sell you to get you out of the door as quickly as possible, so that I can clock out and go home". I recently took my bike in for service, and it got lost in the "system", and what should have taken a couple of days to complete, took over two weeks. Every time I called to get a status update, the service team was clueless about where my bike was, what was being done, and when I could expect to get it back. The "system" couldn't find it, I was put on hold for 10-15 minutes while they scrambled to figure out where my bike was...TOTAL loss of confidence in WRC. SUCH a huge change since Ron left. Again, the only word I can think of is "SAD". This could have been one of the best bike shops in the country, but...it is NOT ! read more

John F. at Wheat Ridge Cyclery was by far the most helpful and knowledgeable salesperson. This place is the absolute worst, customer service is non existent. Went in a few months ago to look at a bike rack, spent 15 minutes looking. Not one employee greeted us or asked if we needed help. Went back in recently to give wheat ridge cyclery another shot because I was looking for a full face helmet. Still no greeting from employees upon entering but did end up receiving service. However this employee could be more unenthusiastic. This place sucks. If you want good service go to Evo. After wheat ridge cyclery didn't do it for me I went and checked out evo. Would give it 0 stars if I could. I am/was a first time bicycle buyer. My wife and I entered the facility, and waited approximately 30 minutes. We were looking and waiting to be approached by a staff member to gain recommendations, but none came forward, even though the staff waited on at least 4 other customers who came in after us. We had heard good things about this store, but our experience proved otherwise. We ended up going to a different store, and were greeted immediately and got personal help and purchased a bike and accessories. Would not recommend this business to anyone read more

Wheat Ridge Cyclery is accommodating and seems knowledgeable about e-bikes, although the local shop doesn't offer "test rides".

DJ was excellent in getting my new bike fitted and ready to ride. Very professional and attentive to my bike riding habits and made recommendations for the new bike, shoes and cleats. Went in today and test rode a 2023 $3200 Specialized Vado SL. I liked the bike but it had small nick's in the top tube where paint chips were missing. I asked if they could bring it down in price and they offered to reduce it by $75 and claimed I should just use nail polish to fix it. I asked for 10% off and the guy said they sell enough bikes that they didn't need my business. All this after I stood in line to test ride this bike while a couple of clowns were standing behind the counter playing patty cake. Just not a very good customer experience at all. I'll stick with Denver Bicycle Company in Park Hill where they care about the customer and don't act as if they don't need them. read more

Very impressed with their customer service: I was driving down from Breckenridge to pick up a new Trek ebike. But a traffic jam on I-70 held me up and it looked like I would not make it to the store before their closing. I called ahead from the highway and asked if they could have the bike ready for me even though I would be arriving right at their closing time. Wheat Ridge Cyclery staff not only had the bike ready for me, but they went above and beyond---spent an extra 20 minutes with me making sure that the bike fork was properly set up for me, dropper seat post was configured correctly for my pedaling dimensions, conducted an overview of the remote Apple iphone app for the Bosch motor. It's Saturday, August 13th and I'm sitting in the shop. I'm still in awe of their dedication to fixing a prominent issue with my Sram Red AXS shifter. It's been a major issue (to me) for the last three days heading into the last training weekend before the Triple. One of the mechanics even came in on his day off to start & finish the totality of the work needed. There's so much more that went into these last few days that it's difficult to encompass it all on a Yelp review. For me it was literally an emotional roller coaster, from being explained (in detail) why I'd need a whole new, electronic shifter, to attempting to reprogram AXS and 'Frankenstein' my available components, to calling other bike shops for unique rim-brake specific parts...to finally putting it all together and getting me back on the road to train for next weekend. To say their service staff "bent over backwards" to make things happen is an utter insult to anyone else that thinks they've "bends over backwards" for their clientele. In my 20+ years of biking I've never met bike mechanics work so diligently and feverishly. read more

The closest bike shop to my house closed I hadn't been to Wheat Ridge Cyclery since I was there to meet Greg LeMond and get an autograph back in the early 2000s. My awesome 26" Yeti finally bit the dust last Fall and I needed a new mountain bike. After much on-line research, getting recommendations from friends, and considering my budget, I decided on a Specialized Stumpjumper Expert. I ordered it at WRC about a month back and they called me 10 days later to say it came-in and was built and ready for pickup. I finally got down there today during their 50th anniversary sale to pick it up. The lot was full and the store was busy. Nevertheless I was helped right away and Greg made me feel like the most important customer in the store even though he was helping at least 2 others simultaneously. He set up my new shoes, adjusted the bike perfectly, and even got me an adapter for my roof rack. I remembered this being a really nice shop and nothing about this experience disappointed. I'm very disappointed. I've been a Wheatridge Cyclery customer for many years, and bought my last two bikes there. I always felt like I was treated fairly. Until today. I took my bike in for a basic tuneup and flat repair and was quoted $360. I couldn't believe it. I don't mind paying a fair amount for a service, but this is ridiculous. Just can't say enough about the incredible customer service at Wheat Ridge Cyclery. I stopped in to find two specific replacement items for my beloved 30+ year old Specialized Rock Hopper (yes, I know it is old but so am I and I still love it!!!). Multiple staff offered assistance as I strolled around the store and Tobin showed me what they had in stock. Unsurprisingly, their in-stock item wasn't exactly right for my very old bike. Tobin said he had an extra of one of the items I was looking for at home and offered to bring it to the store for me the next day. He also told me the service shop might have something similar enough to the second item I was looking for that it would work as a replacement. Sure enough, the service shop had something that would work! I came back the next day not really expecting Tobin would have remembered our encounter the day before - was I ever wrong. Tobin remembered me, addressed me by name, and ran out to his car to bring in the item I had been looking for. He wouldn't even allow me to pay him anything for it as he said it had been hanging around his place for a long time and he was happy someone was going to be able to put it to use. Now that is customer service! Tobin cared more about helping me get what I really wanted, continued enjoyment of my beloved Rock Hopper, than he did trying to upsale me into a new product. Wheat Ridge Cyclery has earned my lifelong patronage! The service shop can expect to see my relic when I bring it in for a seasonal tune up. read more

I stopped in the Littleton location today after my back brake stopped working. Stephanie looked at it and fixed immediately. She moved some of the accessories around that may have impacted the performance of the brakes. She even straightened the front out and filled the tires with air. All at no cost. She was extremely helpful and I will be back to have my bike tuned and serviced in the future. read more

I have heard so many great things about Wheat Ridge Cyclery, but was just so utterly disappointed. I walked around for at least 15-20 minutes, without a single person saying hi or addressing me. I was contemplating purchasing a couple of the Spur Cycle bells, as they have the black ones in stock (and SC have been out of them for a while)... but no... thanks. I'll wait or purchase elsewhere. When I finally walked up to the counter to say hi, and try to start a friendly conversation with the staff (again, shouldn't it be the other way around?), they were too busy typing away and would barely address me. I want to like this bike shop but I just can't. Every time I go in I have a negative experience with the shop staff. Today I went in to get the beads mounted on my tires. It was unsuccessful and told I probably needed new tires, which was fine by me. I paid $170 for two new tires, and after the transaction was told they can't mount them for another two days. What? I just paid for new tires to get back out on the road. I understand there's lead times and it's busy with spring. But there was no one else in line, and both techs at the front were not actively working on any bikes. I only bought the tires because I was under the impression I could get them mounted, which would only take 5 min. I would have otherwise gone to a different bike shop to have them bought and mounted. Frankly, I feel lied to and taken advantage of. On top of this, the service tech provided a bad customer service experience and from the start I felt I wasn't welcome and that I was an inconvenience to them. I've gone to this shop numerous times and continue to have bad experiences. read more
