I went to the Evergreen state fair for a concert. It seemed to be the best option in the area. Hotel, rooms, pool and hot tub were very clean and one of the most clean pool and hot tubs I have seen at a hotel. It would be nice if they have safes in the rooms. Only negatives with room was bathtub after shower seemed to not have all water drain and a little would stand there, found some outlets near the bed that did not work and walls seemed a little thin. I heard mumbles from neighbor in the morning and housekeeping through the wall. Pool could have been a little warmer but nice and cool for summertime. Hot tub was perfect temperature. Breakfast was OK but not fantastic but since it was included in the rate, it was filling. The coffee in the room was better than the coffee at breakfast. Staff was friendly. read more

The strong smell of Pine Sol when you walk in the door is overwhelming! That should have been my first clue but the carpets are gross, dirty and you feel like you're at a hotel for dogs. Oh they do allow dogs!! The room was ok but we would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to any one looking in Monroe. The Best Western is next door and you should stay there. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had with one problem after another. We stayed in November 2023 for the Monroe dog show. The first room was missing a shelf on the fridge, which was annoying but not a deal breaker. Then the toilet broke and we had to move to the only other available room at 10:00pm after a long day. The new room smelled overwhelmingly of whatever cleaning product they use. It didn't dissipate even after 20 minutes running the fan with the window open. The new room also had a bag of restaurant take-out trash left in the corner near the desk. The only good thing about our stay was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, who did their best in a bad situation. When we asked for a discount to make up for our terrible experience, I had to call back twice - once to talk with the manager, who promised to talk with the owner. And again when they never called back. I was informed that the owner declined to offer us even a partial refund. We will never stay here again. read more

To begin, the check-in experience was satisfactory. However, upon entering the room, an unpleasant odor of smoke was noticeable. Due to exhaustion, we decided against requesting a room change. Additionally, the shower water temperature was consistently lukewarm and never reached a comfortable hot temperature. Evergreen Inn was literally a life saver. I was a attending a cat show and was traveling with 2 cats. I had originally made a reservation on 5/3/23 for my stay on 7/1 at the Best Western Sky Valley. I placed in the notation I was traveling with cats, as I always do, because many pet friendly hotels are NOT Cat friendly. I called on the the BW directly on 6/24 at 6:42 pm and confirmed they accepted cats and I was told yes. During the cat show on 7/1 and received a call from the hotel at 2:30 pm, telling me unfortunately they don't accept cats. I told the gal I had called and confirmed (which I also always do, even though I always note cats when I book online) and that I didn't think I could find a hotel for the night and wasn't wanting to drive home. The BW manager, Mr. Guzman called me and reiterates they don't accept cats and no one at his hotel would say others wise. I must have called the main reservation line. Basically saying I was a liar, a couple of different times! Then he said again, no cats but for this misunderstanding, he would allow it, if I paid a pet fee, the cats were to remain in cages 100% of their stay and then he added an extortionist fee in them of an addition hefty room deposit! Thank GOD the Evergreen Inn and Suites had a last minute room available. The were so, so nice and less expensive! The room was clean, the breakfast buffet was great and the pool was open (though I didn't use it). I had a king suite I think, as I had a microwave and refrigerator. You could hear the car races and the train, but after 10pm I didn't notice a thing. There is a pizza place right across from the hotel and you can easily order and have almost anything delivered. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and hospitality. I will definitely stay again, for another show. Pet friendly, but most importantly.....CAT FRIENDLY! read more

The very best feature of this hotel is the front desk staff, especially Ms. Sandy. She is wonderfully kind and helpful! The cleaning staff is also amazing, because the room was spotless. They are centrally located in downtown Monroe, which might be a plus for those who enjoy this little town. The internet was fast and reliable. However, the town itself is loud at all hours. Especially the large train that likes to creep by across the street, blowing its horn... at all hours. The walls are also paper thin. We were lucky enough to have polite neighbors, but could hear every word of their conversations. Every vending machine was out of order, which is a shame because their "breakfast" didn't have anything I'd like to put into my body. Luckily, they are within walking distance of several stores and a host of restaurants. I really dislike when hotels place religious propaganda around. It's like finding a dead rat in the drawer. The wonderful staff here make the place worthwhile, which is why I rate it as "okay." In a world where smaller hotels are going out their their way to give you a great experience (and for a similar price), it's hard to recommend a space that deserves a shrug and then immediately forgotten. read more

First off not expecting much, but clean! Got to room and LOUD construction was going on next door. We were never warned there was any construction going on at all. After awhile we called the front desk she said it should end at 5:00pm, ok but we STILL should have been told. At 6:00pm it was STILL going, it stopped about 6:30. It was pounding, drilling, and hammering. Then I specifically chose this hotel because of the hot tub. We got to the pool, beautiful bright blue, then the hot tub...ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, brown! I stayed at Evergreen Inn and suites in Monroe, Washington, for one night. We went to check out the next morning and wanted to clean up and I looked at the shower and I thought what the heck is going on. The bathtub was absolutely gray with grime. I took a wet washcloth and just did a finger swipe and it was like gray grime and white. Disgusting. I wouldn't even shower in there with shoes on. I have been attempting to contact the supervisor Anita Galvan and even sent her the picture. She acted like she gave a crap, but she's never responded with any kind of resolution. You go to a hotel to sleep and get cleaned up. I only got to sleep, no way to get cleaned up in that disgusting shower. I'm bet that if I went back to that hoteltub and that room probably looks exactly the same. Do not ever stay there. read more

Eh Needs some updating and some new housekeeping for sure! Noticed Dirt along the hallways, and doesn't smell the best but that wasn't the biggest problem I had with Evergreen Inn. It's that when checking out and making sure we had everything, checked under the bed and we found pieces to a vape pen, my grandchild could have choked on. As well as 2 oranges and an empty coke bottle under the bed! Does the house keeping even look under the beds??? I think not Took all in a bag down to the front desk when we checked out and told the lady...she didn't say a word people! Not an "I apologize for that" there was no "thank you for staying with us" NOTHING! Except "what room?" and "do you want a copy of your receipt" Because of that last part, I will never stay there when visiting my daughter in Monroe again! I had an excellent experience at this hotel. I have used red lion hotels, red roof, Hamptons, and I have used several others to stay in business trips but I've never had the kind of customer service that was provided to me here. I highly recommend it, the customer service was excellent, I stopped in because other hotels were all booked. I've had some really bad experiences staying in hotels with the neatness, smells, cleanliness, and often times customer service has been really poor. I wanna congratulate management for doing a great job and I also want to point out this young lady by the name of Lily was exceptional, Very polite, super friendly, quickly got me a room and I did not have any reservations. The room did not have any smells, and it was very clean. This is the reason why I have continue to use it. I highly recommend this place hotel. There was a flat screen sitting right outside our first room, stubbed toe there. Then the toilet overflowed all over the place. When we returned to the room my husband had to go down and talk to someone who gave us a different room. They downgraded is from a king suite to a double queen. Smaller tv. Smaller room. Toilet would not flush correctly and the tub would not drain. Stood in ankle deep water when we showered. Mentioned the problems to the front desk at check out and she just told me the rooms were the same price. No concern at all about the problems, no apology, just a blank state. We will be looking for a better hotel for our next trip to Monroe. read more

We popped a tire in their parking lot, they had a foot deep hole and it costed us a $1000 to fix and they will not take any responsibility for the upkeep of the parking lot or take on any of the expense of tire being fixed!!! If you are an immunocompromised guest like me, YOU ARE NOT SAFE HERE. When I arrived the night desk person was not masked. When I asked about it he smirked and said "not for three weeks now". I was made to feel in the wrong for wanting to look after my own safety. None of the staff and few of the guests I encountered were wearing masks, although a housekeeping person and the morning front desk person donned theirs when they saw me wearing mine. A virus does not care what your politics are. I care about your treatment of guests. If I'm greeted with derision because I'm following guidelines for people in my situation then I will respond, and I will warn people about this facility's cavalier treatment of guests. DO NOT USE FOR GROUP RESERVATIONS - SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES I had the most unprofessional experience here ever. I am my daughters soccer team travel coordinator and have made numerous group hotel reservation bookings in the past several years without issue. This Guesthouse Inn and the booking manager Bill put a stop to my good luck. I called Bill to check into a group booking - asking for 12 rooms. He said he had 10 rooms available and quoted me a price of 115.00. I said we would take them. I asked for a contract to be emailed and he said he didnt have contracts but he would call me back with all of the finalized details. The next day he called me back stating the rooms would be 125.00, he could only hold them for 7 days before turning them back into inventory, and he only had one type of room available (all different information than what was given initially). I was very disappointed with this unprofessional service and should have stopped and gone elsewhere at that time but decided to move forward since I had already invested so much time into this hotel thus far. I confirmed the group booking. The very next day I received a message from Bill stating that they would have to release the rooms as the hotel was filling up and he wouldnt be giving us the 7 day agreed upon time frame for parents to call in. I was very angry at the bait and switch and called back but he did not return my call. The next day I received notice from a parent that the hotel was booked and they could not honor our booking. So basically he undercut our team to fill the hotel up quicker. I called Bill and expressed my displeasure of his unethical business practices and he just kept repeating that the hotel had filled up. I called corporate headquarters and expressed my concern over the shady business practices. They apologized but an apology certainly doesnt fix the dilemma we are now in with no hotel for our team for a tournament. All hotels I have worked with (Holiday Inn, Sheraton, Doubletree, Oxford Inn, Ramada, Best Western) have ALL been professional, efficient, honest, and easy to work with with group bookings. Guesthouse Inn has a LOT to learn from other hotels on how to handle group bookings. Unbelievable. I will never book any stay with them anywhere for any reason. read more

GuestHouse Inn & Suites Monroe is a 3-story Business-class Hotel located conveniently on State Route 2 in Monroe with plenty of restaurants and resources nearby. HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: CLEANLINESS: Very clean. Found no critters, bugs or any unwelcome guests. Bed was clean and smelled fresh, pillows were fresh and new-ish. Room smelled clean, clean carpets, very little dust or residue on any surfaces, bathroom was mopped and wiped down, no spots or smudges on the mirror or any glass surfaces. Exceeded expectations. BATHROOM: Engineered countertop surfaces, toilet and shower/bath in same room. Tile floors. One sink, overhead lights above mirror. GuestHouse Inn & Suites provides a standard assortment of soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and gel, as well as shower cap, and towels, bathmat and floor mat replaced daily as needed. Shower is LOW PRESSURE, and has three settings at the showerhead, a gentle wide setting, a useless 2nd setting, and a "massage" 3rd setting that is the only way to get decent water pressure. WORST TOILET PAPER I HAVE EVER USED. BEDROOM: One King Bed, medium sized room, lots of space. Bed is comfortable, sheets fit well and feel and smell clean. Four pillows provided, marked with "Soft" and "Firm", which I thought was cool. There is a desk provided, which is essential for business hotels, where I found myself working in the mornings and evenings. Desk Chair is comfortable, coffee pot is on the desk with provided coffee. Plush seating chair with pullout Ottoman in corner. Full size Ironing Board with good Iron. Suitcase Caddy provided. Lighting is overhead canister lights with Lamps, individually controllable. Closet with mirrored door. Only one real complaint: Not enough outlets for business travel needs. Good thing I carry my own outlet expansion strips. KITCHENETTE: Oddly, for a business hotel, there is no kitchenette; and not even a microwave or refrigerator, which was disappointing since I had leftovers to chill and no way to do it. SMOKING: No smoking here. In fact, they make you sign something saying that they will charge you if you smoke in the room. Windows don't open either, so forget it. CLIMATE CONTROL: Climate control has heat/ cooling, and is very efficient and quiet. I was always comfortable in-room. NOISE LEVEL: Walls are thin. I could hear conversations on both sides of me, thankfully they were short. Noise isolation from outside is good, except for when the freight trains roll through the neighborhood every few hours. My first night, I kept getting woken up by the trains blowing their whistles. INTERNET: Internet, when it works, is good and relatively fast. My first night arriving, the Internet was not working well and I ended up spending about 5 hours doing what I usually take 15 minutes to do. Manager fixed the problem the next morning when I informed them, and it worked great since. TV/ MEDIA: 32" flat panel LCD TV in a hutch. Limited local channels (about 20) with HBO. HOTEL: 3 Floors with Elevator and Interior Hallways. 44 Rooms, 18 Suites. 4 ADA Rooms. Pool, Hot Tub, Laundry Room all Interior. Front Desk in Lobby staffed 24 hours. Meeting room and small business center desk, Dining room with TV. POOL: Medium sized pool with a Hot Tub on the side. Access by card key only. Clean pool, heavily chlorinated water. Hot Tub was the perfect temperature and jets worked well; perfect for soaking in after a long day working. The whole time I sat there, I didn't see anyone else come in so I had the place to myself. Very nice. PARKING: Parking is plentiful. I always got the same space all the time, just a few spaces from the entryway. SECURITY & SAFETY: Safe. Access to the hotel is through the main lobby, which is always staffed. Interior hallways throughout, with security cameras. Access to special rooms are by card key only. Exterior is spacious and well lit. The area has restaurants and other hotels, and is not in a sketchy area. SERVICE: Professional and courteous, but not particularly friendly. They took care of everything I needed take care of, but did not make me feel particularly welcome. CHECK-IN/ OUT: 3PM Check-In, 12 NOON Check-Out (which was nice) BONUSES: "Deluxe" Continental Breakfast is pretty good. They serve CINNABONS (OMG!!!), and link sausage and eggs, which I ate a lot of. Oatmeal, Juices, Fresh Waffles, Muffins, Bagels, Toast, etc. I was very happy with this. COST: $114 King, $124 2x Queen, $134 King Suite w/ Queen Sofa Bed VALUE: Decent value. You get what you pay for here. BOTTOM LINE: 3.5/5 with a nod to 4. GuestHouse Inn & Suites met and in some cases exceeded my expectations. I had a comfortable stay, I enjoyed the deluxe continental breakfast, and everything I needed taken care of was taken care of promptly. This hotel is modern, clean, spacious....feels like home. We stayed here on New Years eve so we arrived late in the evening as expected...no problems with checking-in. We brought our two labradors with us, not wanting to leave them at home along overnight. We inquired with the hotel on their pet rules and of course paid a reasonable pet cleaning fee. Now these are not your average dogs...while they are both "Black" labs, and Maddie is average 60 pounds, Charlie is over 100 pounds and is big and bossy. The front desk welcomed them both as if they were their own. Parking was simple. This hotel had a very good hot breakfast. The beds were ideal, very comfy, warm, and plenty of pillows. A very nice hotel that I welcome staying at again when in the Monroe area. read more

A nice clean place to stay in a town with few options. The accomadations were very satisfactory. We stayed in a suite for 7 days. The suite means a 3 foot dividing wall between the bed and couch bed. Bathroom is good size. Small refrigerator with bar sink and microwave. Ironing board and iron are located in a good size closet. My issue is with housekeeping. 2 of the 7 days they did not clean the room. If they see a do not distrub tag, they fail to return later to clean. read more

It's is called Evergeen Inn. It's a bit outdated but it's clean. Rates are great. Paid 107.00 with my moms AARP. Pool was warm. Hot tub was small but a great temp. Beds were comfortable. Each bed had 4 pillows. It was clean but had a small stain on the comforter. Free continental breakfast. Waffles, sausage and biscuits, cereal, a wide variety of breads, yogurt, apples, bananas, muffins and cinnamon rolls. Staff was polite. Great pizza right across the parking lot. Will definitely not return to the hotel. Overpriced for what we got. The hallway to our room smelled musty and moldy and old. Got to our room and although it was clean the smell was even worse. Our check in clerk looked very unkept, greasy and just creepy. Sorry but if your employees represent your place of business at least look clean. Free breakfast was mediocre at best. To top it off my car was broken into in their parking lot. A few items were taken , phone charger, change and just left a big mess. Extremely accommodating from the phone call to reserve to the time of checking out. You get a nice breakfast, cinnabons, nice muffins, bagels, make your own waffles, yogurt. No eggs but sausage links to go with the waffles which, btw, were yummy! The lady attending to the breakfast bar was very attentive to everyone making sure they could find everything they needed and helped me with the waffle maker since it was the first time I'd used it. Only thing I would suggest is that they have an option for a tray and paper plates for breakfast in case you wish to take it back to your room. We also had 3 small dogs. $20 for all 3! No issues or problems. That's better than what we could do with a kennel! I would also suggest a folded blanket and 2 extra pillows in the closet for people like myself that need more pillows and cover. I canceled this RSVP the same day (5pm) I was to arrive (became ill and returned home). Mary from the Evergreen Hotel told me I had to talk to someone the next Monday to get my money back. About an hour later, we decided to use the room. We called back and they were 100% booked. We booked this hotel on the phone directly with the hotel. Since I have never canceled a booking before, I was unaware of their policy to charge for same day cancelations. They did not state it on the phone nor email it to me or communicate this in any way. I called "Bill" the General Manager who post reservation informed me of his policy, and will not make this right. I have read other feedback where they delay issues until workweek, charge in full, and then refuse to work the situation. read more

Watch out non refundable reservations on their web sites. They refused to cancel 3 nights because they were made on the web and have no control over web reservations. So we have to pay them even through we are not staying there. So we moved our reservations out till December and are having homeless people stay in the room for Christmas.
