We brought our new puppy (9 months old) with us to Hilton Head. We were unable to leave him with my parents and I was a bit hesitant to leave him somewhere i didn't trust. When I google searched for boarding options in Hilton Head- Evergreen Pet Lodge came up. their website was FANTASTIC and won me over. I immediately called and the owner- Jonathan picked up! He was so warm and informative and helpful. I booked the dates immediately, on the spot. the prices were extremely fair and you can hear it in the video and in his voice that they LOVE what they do. They run a tight ship and have the absolute staff. Drop off was unsettling for me and the kids- but we were allowed to visit in the mornings and/or take him out for snuggles and walks on the beach if we wanted. When we came to visit Moose- he was SO HAPPY and wagged his tail at Kimberly at the front desk. David groomed him before our family pictures and met us for a special after hours drop off. I just can't say enough good things about this operation. Moose went to an amazing sleep away camp and came home better than we left him! This is an absolute no-brainer. In town for vacation and decided to do some sightseeing and touring that didn't allow pets. The staff at Evergreen were very friendly and made us feel comfortable leaving our fur baby for the day. We were able to walk in with no appointment, check in (proof of shot records is needed), and pick our pup up after we finished for the day. It was $20 for the day, they close at 5 PM and offer private spaces or socialized group play. Definitely recommend if you're on vacation and need pet daycare. read more

Excellent experience for our black lab! Our first trip w lodging and all raves for the lodge. We were able to pick up and enjoy the beach but also relax on day trips knowing she was well cared for. Staff were professional and friendly from the first phone call to reserve to pickup. Knowledgeable as well with our questions. Best part finishing w a clean fluffy puppy! Great bath. I really hate to give bad reviews but after seeing Evergreen win Hilton Head Monthly's best pet boarding, I had to speak up. Before you make a reservation, go shopping at Bruno's Nursery, their back yard neighbor. You can hear the pups being boarded barking nonstop. The stress level these pups are under has to be high. The layout of the place means close quarters where dogs see each other constantly. I boarded my dogs here only once, back when I moved here in Nov 2011. When I returned from my trip, one of my dogs had a large open wound on her neck that I didn't see until I took her collar off at home. No one said a word. I've been to Bruno's recently and could hear the stress filled barking continues. A new layout of the kennels is desperately needed and soon! Until they make improvements, there are better places to board your pets on Hilton Head. The other places might not be as cheap but you really do get what you pay for sometimes. To respond to owners response - I did board two French bulldogs with you in Dec 2011. I know it is a long time ago but I looked on your website and the layout appears the same. Solid walls between dogs but they are facing each other in close proximity. Yelp is meant to share info with prospective customers. I shared my experience albeit late. read more

AbbieGrace stayed at Evergreen for the first time in December 2018. Evergreen was recommended to us by my mom who took her beloved Maggi there for many years. She was so happy with Evergreen and tells everyone that this is the place for their pet when in Hilton Head. AbbieGrace loves it here. We feel that she was given excellent care while enjoying her week long stay. We were able to come pick her up and spend some time with her during the day. She never ever seemed stressed at all and was happy to go back when it was time for Mommy and Daddy to leave. We are so happy with Evergreen that Abbie will be enjoying her second stay next week in April of 2019. We love knowing that Abbie is greatly taken care of and this leaves us with such a great peace of mind. We will recommend Evergreen to anyone we know who needs their services. read more

Evergreen made our trip to Hilton Head truly amazing! We love to travel with our pup but there are activities that she can't attend, so we were so glad we found Evergreen to leave our pup for daycare each day of our vacation. She went to Evergreen each day of our trip, Sunday through Thursday. I can honestly say I've never seen a daycare place that my dog was so happy to go to (we usually have to drag her into other places). I've also never seen a daycare place she wasn't dying to leave and trying to escape. That really says a lot - the staff at Evergreen truly love dogs and will give your pup an amazing vacation too! Overall, Hilton Head Island is extremely dog friendly, just make sure you add Evergreen to the list! Btw - extremely reasonably priced too! read more

our almost 15 year old terrier mix Smokey had another family vacation with us in Hilton Head SC - he's been a Lodge regular since he was pup and he had his $63/night private luxury suite and it was worth every penny - we'd pick him up early and take him to the beach or out shopping/exploring, but he wanted to get back in time for lunch, then his midday Deep Muscle Massage and a nap - he'd had a slight hitch in his giddy-up (stiffness in his right rear leg and hip) but the daily massage sessions made it disappear - he was running around like a puppy on our drive back and ever since we got home - I don't know what the professionals at the Lodge did for our dog but it was magic - we all can't wait for our next family vacation - Many Thanks and God Bless You All - Sincerely, Chris Smith, Fairfax VA 22032 read more

It really pains me to complain about any business, especially small ones, but my most recent experience with Evergreen Pet Lodge on Dillon Rd. prompts me to write this post. Do not do anything to become out of favor with the owner Johnathon. Several years ago I had to cancel a week of overnight kennels because of a family emergency for which I offered to pay so they wouldn't loose the business. Since then and on more occasions than I can count, I've been arbitrarily blackballed...sometimes he'll take her and sometimes he won't. I continued to use them because my elderly dog was familiar with them. The final straw was Sunday when I phoned to schedule an appointment for a bath and he actually said, "Well I hope this works for you, but our first available appointment is September 27th." That was not gonna work for me so I called the next day intending to hang up if Jonathan answered, but the always cheerful young girl answered! And as I expected, she said "Sure, we'll be happy to see (called my pet by Name)! Needless to say, I believe Owner was a little surprised to see me walk in. I do not need to beg anyone to take my money in exchange for a service, so I absolutely will not return, not because of the services, but because of the disrespectful way I've been treated for years. I must emphasize that the grooming she's received in the past has always been great! read more

As a local, each of my dogs have stayed here for the occasional doggy daycare short or long stays over the past 23 years. Jonathan and everyone who works with him are friendly and excellent caregivers to the animals who come through their doors. My current dog, Maggie, is my velcro dog and despite her stress when she is away from me, she is so excited when we pull into the parking lot. Honestly I don't even know of other kennels on the island, because why would I fix what isn't broken. As I write this review, I have just dropped off my girl as we head off on our vacation and I know she's on one too. I continue to stand by my review of Evergreen. I do have to say the owner did reimburse me for my vet bill only after the Better Business Bureau got involved. My dog was injured at Evergreen while being groomed resulting in an infection. I did nothing wrong - my dog is my baby. It could have been handled so much more civilly and I am sad that it was not. My dog had been boarded at Evergreen and I was a happy customer. My issue is completely with how the owner blamed the victim and that I had to take other measures to resolve the issue. Ultimately it is up to the dog owner to do what they feel is best for their pet and peace of mind. I realize accidents happen but the way the whole incident was handle resulted in my less than favorable review read more

Our 2 dogs boarded here and we were very happy with the staff and cleanliness. All the staff was friendly, and the owner went above and beyond. Ok, so we are so in love with our poodle puppy! We had a much needed 2 week stay in our Hilton Head condo scheduled. PANIC!!! The property doesn't allow pets! So what do we do with our little girl? Sneek her in and out for 2 weeks? No, not right for us or anybody else. WOW, maybe we have an answer. This kennel sounds really cool. So I called at the last minute to see if I could get a reservation. Jonathan, the owner answers the call. After a brief description of the health requirements, he makes arrangements for us to be received for a late arrival. ( It is a holiday weekend. ....) They took in our little baby and loved her like their own. We checked her out every day and took her with us for whatever we had in store for the day. (She loves the beach, and of course, the shopping). They welcomed her back at the end of the day. She loved them so, she wagged her little tail off when she saw them. We can't say enough about how much we appreciate the clean,healthy, loving, home away from home they provided. Prices were very reasonable and the relationship with them was PRICELESS! ! We ended up taking him with us to Hilton Head and left him at Evergreen Pet Lodge. They were great! Excellent care. We had our dog stay for the week because she was not allowed on the property of our timeshare. I was able to come and get her every day for a nice long walk on the beach and then a romp in the dog park. While she was very happy to see me when I came to pick her up she willingly went with a staff member every time I dropped her off. Every time! The staff was very friendly and you could tell they love talking care of the animals there. They are also very busy there with day care too. I was able to really enjoy my vacation and not miss my dog while I took my walk on the beach. It was also nice not to worry about what the dog is doing while we were at the pool or out to eat , I was confident she was in good hands! I highly recommend and will return. The owners and staff at Evergreen Pet Lodge were super friendly--to both people and pets! Our dogs were well cared for and even willingly returned after an afternoon on the beach. Sometimes when we board our dogs other places they are very reluctant to go back, but all 3 dogs seemed happy to be back with their new friends at Evergreen at the end of the day. Finding a wonderful place for our sensitive rescue pups to stay makes it easier to enjoy our vacation when the pups can't be with us. Animal hospital on site. Fenced area to let the dogs run and play in on our daily visits. Accommodated our early arrival with no problems or additional charges. My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Hilton Head this past weekend. We boarded our Boxer/Pitt mix here and have nothing, but wonderful things to say. Our pup doesn't always do to well away from us for more than a day. In the past when we have him stay somewhere for multiple days he either gets sick or just exhausted. We have taken 3 dogs to Evergreen through the years. We had two Pomeranians and currently an Australian Shepard. We have used both boarding and day care. This is the greatest kennel we have have ever experienced. Our Auzzie pushes their gate open to get in and smiles (while stealing a treat) on the way out. Our dog stayed here for two nights when we visited Hilton Head. The entire process was easy. I made the reservation over the phone and was told exactly what paperwork was needed. Check-in was busy, but they kept it organized. When we picked up our little guy, he was bathed, energetic and happy. My parents had been grooming/boarding their two Dogs Lucci & Baily for 17 years here. Never once did they have a bad experience. Unfortunately they both passed away in the past six months as did one of their dogs, "Lucci". I have been living in Hilton Head myself for the past 2 years. I have dealt with Jonathon and his staff through the years via my parents and now myself with my two dogs. I happen to be away, back at home in NJ and was just checking in on my two babies and I read these reviews and just needed to take a minute to write my own review on Jonathans behalf. In no way what so ever are the claims that have been negatively made could be true. Jonathan happens to be very compassionate about his business and always makes sure our family pets as well as I'm sure all the pets that are in his care are very well taken care of. I myself would never allow my pets nor would my parents be groomed there or boarded had they thought they were in any kind of a stressful situation regardless. I can also tell you this, Back in June of 2019, My husband and I needed a vacation after taking care of my parents around the clock for over a year. While away, we left them at home in my parents house while all the while my sister had been there to take over taking care for our parents for that week. Needless to say, they were well adjusted in my parents home and my sister was there to take care of them. When my husband and I got back, one of our dogs was completely beside himself. No ryme or reason. This was not the first time that we went away and that our dogs had been cared for. Until this day we have no idea why that happened to him but after about two weeks he was back to his old self. My point is, it happened to one of my dogs and he was in his usual environment. There may just have been something about that time that your pet was feeling uneasy. If there was anything negative at all regardless, to be fair I would post it. I was told I could see the suite my puppy was staying at when I made reservations. I tried to see it three times and was given three different excuses why. The first day I picked up my dog to take him around the island and he was off. He peed like he had not been taken out, was hungry, drank a lot of water, and was panting for two hours. I am very upset at how my dogs trip ended up being and the service I received so I took him to another dog kennel two days early. read more

My Lab goes to daycare at Evergreen Pet Lodge 5 days a week from 9am to 5pm, and absolutely loves it. She stays overnight occassionaly when we have visitors, or if we have to go out of town. John and his staff are the greatest. They truly care about each and every animal in their trust. This place is the absolute cleanest, most professional pet lodge/ daycare in our community. I have to say that this is one of the BEST boarding places I have ever seen... I have been boarding my dog Gino for over 3 years...
