My fiancée and I went there in the lead up to our wedding in order to learn a choreography for our first dance. My fiancée had something very specific in mind, and our instructor Faye was able to work with us to turn it into everything we could have dreamed for. Keep in mind: I am NOT and have never been particularly good at dancing, unlike my now-wife, so I was skeptical of how this would turn out. However, after just a few weeks of lessons, Faye had us waltzing around the room like it was second nature. By the time our wedding approached, we had included several lifts, dips, and other spins I never imagined myself performing. Faye's feedback and pointers are really detailed and helped immensely in sharpening up all of our movements as we got closer and closer to our deadline. The venue was also incredibly accomodating to us, as we wanted to create a video of our dance to share, and to have as a keepsake. We were able to rent out one of the halls for filming, and it turned out incredible.

I love to use the upstairs smaller hall for practicing because it has a lovely view. Not to mention I can plug my own phone or iPod to play the music I want for practice. I highly recommend Crystal Ballroom to anyone looking for a fun way to workout instead of just running on a treadmill or looking to meet new people and socialize. I found Dominic through Yelp and I am so glad that we took the chance to receive lessons from him. Dominic is very funny, charismatic and most importantly, as an instructor, is very patient. At the time I lived in Seattle and my then fiance lived in Vancouver but it was very easy to book with Dominic. We had about 10 lessons spread over 3-4 months and he helped us choreograph a dance routine that could be easily taught to two complete novices but that appeared quite complexed. When we viewed the video of us dancing our first song, I could barely believe how smooth we looked while dancing. I highly recommend Dominic. If you've never danced before, do not fear, he is the perfect instructor. There were times that he gave us glimpses of what he could really do and his long career of teaching and competing are sure to be able to assist dancers of any level reach a higher standard.

At first you feel silly and stupid but it's actually a great workout. No I will never get a career in pole dancing but you appreciate the talent that goes into it, its not easy. It wasn't my first time pole…read moredancing but it was my first time at Tantra Fitness and there was a lot of things that could have been better. - The way the classes are organized with the color code doesn't make much sense to me. - When I arrived, the teacher didn't introduce themselves or ask any questions if people were already familiar with some moves or not. Everyone did the same thing and we learned only one simple move in one class which isn't much. - The classes are only 55 minutes which is very short. When you take into consideration the warm up and stretching we only pole for 30 minutes, which isn't enough in my opinion. - I purchased a 6-day pass ($180 before taxes which is an average of $30 per class) but when I went to the website and checked individually, most classes were around $20. Then what is the point of the punch card if you're gonna pay more?? That's upsetting - I injured myself and had to cancel a class I had booked last minute. They did warn me I would have a cancellation fee but didn't say how much. I went through cancellation waiting for them to tell me how much I would have to pay. I ended up receiving an email AFTERWARDS telling me that they wouldn't pay my class back. That's not a fee, that's just stealing money. They need to be better at communicating. I tried calling them to talk about it and wasn't able to reach anybody. So yeah, the class was okay and I like the diversity of classes they offer, but there are too many things wrong going on for me to give more than 2 stars.

While I haven't had a chance to try out all the different types of classes, I've noticed that some require more independence than others; in particular, in the mixed level classes, the instructor will often teach moves and instruct you to practice with other people of your level, and leave you on your own for a bit while she tends to the people of the other level(s), and she goes back and forth. Most days this works well, but some days you're left on your own for a little longer than you anticipated. Still, there's loooots to practice, so that time alone isn't a bad thing as long as you use it wisely. If you were thinking of giving pole dance a try, definitely come here! Because their facility is a bit small, make sure you download their app and book well in advance. Many classes book up quickly!

We took advantage of the group beginner classes and private dances for our choreographed 1st wedding dance. Both the group beginner lessons and private choreographed dances were lots of fun. Simple and easy for the beginner classes, slightly more challenging for the private dances. My wife and i were smart to take some beginner classes first to get our feet wet, then graduated into a private lesson package with Nicole. Nicole is awesome! She put together our entire dance to the 3 songs we provided for her. Dance class was definitley a new challenge for us which turned out to be quite enjoyable; to my surprise haha. Cant thank Nicole enough for making our 1st dance a roaring sucess. Our wedding guests were shocked with our performance. Teacher Joel is a star as well. First we saw him for several private lessons where we learned the basics and laid the groundwork for the choreographed dance, and then closer to the wedding date we began the 7 lesson performance package as described on the JC Dance Co website. During that time Joel choreographed our dance with our input and taught us everything we needed to pull it off. Joel is patient and good-humored, and was great at guiding us through the various steps and patterns. He was able to evaluate our skills and progress, and design choreography that was appropriate for us. Once we had the full dance choreographed and memorized, the final lessons focused on helpful tips and styling to elevate the entire routine to the next level. He also offered some great advice for the day of the event, preparing us for things that might happen unexpectedly and how to handle them. This came in handy when our DJ mistakenly began the song before we were ready. Had it not been for Joel's advice, we might have panicked. But because he prepared us for that possibility, we knew what to do. Our guests were wowed, and we had a blast! We highly recommend JC Dance Co, both for dancing lessons in general and First Dance preparation especially!

The studio is bright and new with large viewing windows and quality sprung floors. The common area is welcoming, bright and often filled with dancers working on homework, sharing meals and non booked studio space is open for dancers to practice. We have had several new families join the studio recently, who have shared how unique our studio environment is and are so impressed by the community of dancers and families and often stay to socialize. I have no hesitation in recommending Boogaloo.
