Then i went into the showroom, which was really beautiful. It was a little bit overwhelming to me because I wasn't really sure who to see or what to do as there were many different menus on many different walls and a display which apparently had different types of scents of marijuana. They also had some gift items and apparel. I think there was something like a waterfall there too. I went up to one of the Bud tenders, and I told her that I wanted 5 or 10 mg CBD without THC. She asked for my ID again, which must be standard procedure. There's no way I look under 21, haha! I don't know if it was my mistake or the Bud tender, but apparently I ended up purchasing the wrong one. I paid for the item. She gave me a small discount as a first time buyer and I gave her a tip. Unfortunately, the item I ended up using was a 50 mg gummy. Good thing I cut it in half as a precaution! I ended up being extremely sedated, which I didn't really want. For all I know, it could have been my mistake because I could have pointed to the wrong one on the website on the tablet. Also, the labeling on the back of the package was confusing, because it said that there were 0 mg of THC, but there was a warning label that says warning this item contains thc. I'll be back, but of course, I'll make sure that I know exactly what I want and check the label before I leave.

Going there was extremely uncomfortable. There's a big table with plenty of chairs where everybody have to sit there to fill out the papers. No health privacy protection whatsoever and if you have a question feel free to ask in front of everyone. They charged me $300 that I had to pay with a credit card. I got my license but a year already pass and I need to renew. A guy call me and remind me my upcoming renewal and offer to schedule an appointment. He told me if I haven't received the papers from the state to not worry that they have copies and to bring the fee of.... $300. WHAT!? I researched online and the renewal is as far as I found less than the initial charge. There places charging $100 but this place think I have that kind of money laying around for them, like the supplies in the compassionate centers were inexpensive. This is an example of how people benefits from the pain of others. Shame on you. Later that day a friend who I told what happened offered to call to check the info and again the guy told him it was $300 and my friend complained that was to much. The guy put him on hold and when he returned he told him that right now they had an special of $250.... exactly. I'm wondering if this charges are regulated or not... guess I'm going to make some calls.

As a medical patient I really appreciate this location- shoutout to the workers who hold this place…read moredown when it gets busy! I usually order online in the app and pick up inside. I look for the best deals of the day and the prices seem fair- I love when they do bundles and specials so keep an eye out for that! They also have a drive-thru for pre-orders- a great option for convenience that I used to use a lot. The parking lot can get a bit cramped but I've never had a major issue. There is a large, clean bathroom inside if you need it. The service is always pleasant and informative and medical patients get points towards rewards for their purchases. *they charge a fee if you pay with a credit card, so cash is best! They do have an ATM inside but I believe there is also a fee on that. I haven't been to other compassion centers/dispensaries in the area since relocating here from L.A., so I don't have much to compare it with in the state- but this place is my joint! pun intended ;)

December 25, 2025…read more Subject: Concern Regarding Patient Rights and Recent Interaction at Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center Dear Management Team at Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center, I hope this post finds you well. My name is Jose Rodriguez, and I am a customer. I am writing to bring to your attention a recent experience I had at December 25 , 2025 involving a request to view the Point of Sale (POS) screen during a transaction. As a customer, I understand that my personal information, including registration details and purchase history, is displayed on the POS system for verification purposes. I politely requested to view the screen to confirm the accuracy of my own information. However, the employee responded by arguing that this was not permitted, citing concerns about viewing other customers' data. I clarified that my request was solely to access and verify my own personal information, not that of any other customers-patients.Under Rhode Island's data privacy principles and patient protections, individuals have the right to access and review their own personal data. Allowing a customer to briefly view their own details on the POS screen--without exposing any third-party information--aligns with these standards and helps ensure transparency and accuracy in transactions. The employee's refusal and subsequent backtalk created an uncomfortable and unprofessional situation, which I believe does not reflect the compassionate service your center is known for.I value the services provided by the Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center and have been a loyal customer. I am raising this matter constructively in the hope that it can lead to improved staff training on customer rights, data access, and customer interaction protocols. This would help prevent similar incidents in the future and maintain the high standards of care for all patients. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would appreciate a response acknowledging this concern and any steps you plan to take. Sincerely, Jose Rodriguez All Rights Reserved 11:58 PM

I've been a customer for at least a couple of years. I have mixed feelings on their product because…read morethey do get in things from some of the better growers like Tower Three, but they don't offer medical patient service and their prices are always on the high side. In terms of the shop itself, it's unfortunately basically a clone of most other dispos - almost like there is one decorator/blueprint that most of them use. So differentiating has to be with product and service. On the actual products, it's been very hit or miss with the freshness on purchases, which I've talked to people at the store before about. On service - they, like SO many other dispos, use dutchie for the online storefront and ordering, and I HATE dutchie. It's difficult and inflexible to use (Can I just look for all products from Tower Three? Nope! I have to pick a particular product then start filtering by brand. Can I get super easy access to a brand filter and choose all of my preferred brands at once THEN look at the listings? Nope! It's going to re-paint the screen with each.single.checkbox.I.click). Dutchie leads me back to the service part - I've had tons of problems with their system over the years with different dispos, but on my last 2-3 visits to Botera I've been unexpectedly told there is a problem with their payment system. The last time, I was met at the front by a not friendly person who just said "ATMs down, cash only, there is an ATM inside" and wasn't happy when I mentioned on previous visits I was told about the same problems and that they would be temporary. Look, it's not my problem if Dispo's or Dutchie has issues to hash out with the debit card networks - if your system is down, just announce it with a dismissable banner on your website and maybe even on the front door. Don't make me waste my time coming down there, and no, I'm not going to use a random ATM in a dispo. I really disliked the front receptionist's attitude so I'm taking a break from Botera for a while. My backup suggestion is to go visit High Hopes in Mendon, probably 10 minutes away.

The workers could be a bit friendlier, gave it many chances and will continue to avoid this place.read more
