I am from out of town and every time I visit friends and family in the twin cities, shopping here is a must! I have been a loyal customer since 2019, purchasing multiple items every-time I visit! Unfortunately, this past visit, there was a sweater in the window display that was my size and well-priced. When I asked the sales associate, who was the only person working during this time, if I could purchase the sweater in the display window, she informed me that their policy restricts them from removing clothes in the display window because "it is too difficult to take the sweater off of the mannequin." She informed me that I should come back at a later date when they swap out the clothing in the display window to purchase the sweater. I informed her that I was from out of town and my return flight was before that date. She told me that they could ship it, which I'm sure I would have to pay the shipping costs on, even though I was already in-person at the store. I am not sure if this is a real policy or not, but if it is a real policy, they should really consider removing this and making the mannequins for accessibly. My son and I visited here for the first time. He/him is very petite but did find something he liked. I found a perfect hat. There is soooo much in this store! 2 concerns, women sizes only go to large. And it it so tight it is completely disabled impossible!! So only 4 stars. However, we'll be going back! There's an Everyday People just down the street from me, but I still prefer going to this one. Not that the Uptown location is bad, but the layout is a little nicer here (more room to breathe). They also do a great job with the window displays. The racks are packed with lots of merch for guys and girls, with a pretty extensive scarf "department" in the back. I enjoy that they have a big mirror out on the floor so it's easy to try on coats and hats and whatnot without having to grab a dressing room. Prices are moderate. Sometimes I pick something up and think it's outrageously overpriced (Forever 21 shirts for $12? It probably cost $10 new.), but I've also scored three amazing deals at Everyday People. Almost epic deals, actually. A Carlos Falchi bag for $13, vintage Joan & David boots for $15 and a Coach belt for $8. As with any secondhand store, you've gotta keep your eyes peeled. read more

I've liked this store in the past but don't plan to go back. I saw a scarf in the window, loved it and of course could not buy it because it is part of a display. Really? As someone who worked in antiques, vintage and collectible sales for years, one good rule is: if it's not for sale, don't display it. If people see it, they will want it. I worked in a store with a vendor who insisted on "not for sale' displays and it was just silly. I just loathed dealing customers that something was for looking and not for wearing. Then it was "we're out of bags." Again, really? Many of us are fine with stores that practice bag recycling. Small, local consignment/thrift store filled with unique gems at very reasonable prices. I've been shopping at Everyday People for a number of years now, and it never gets old. They sell gently used women's and men's clothing, as well as shoes and accessories. Their prices are VERY reasonable. Most of the tops I have purchased here are between $5-$10. This place is especially fabulous for those who like unique, retro or "hipster" attire. There is no shortage of crazy patterns straight out of the 80's & 90's. I gotta tell ya. I've been shopping at Everyday People for a long time (RIP uptown store!) but lately I've been really bothered by the lack selection for larger sizes. I'm only a 10-12 and have had a pretty impossible time finding anything decent in my size during my last couple of visits. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for women sizes 14 and up, which, need I remind everyone, is the average for American women. Its unfortunate as to how much stuff out there, that people have in their closets, remains unused and then eventually trashed. This store is not only good for economy (think 15 dollar Puma jacket), it is also good for the environment. I went to sell some of my clothes to this shop last weekend for the first time. The lady at the shop was very pleasant, asked me if i have been in the shop before and upon hearing that its my first time, gladly explained to me how it works using the least amount of words. The lady went through my stuff and found what they could possibly sell and politely returned the things that she was not going to purchase from me. Everything worked out well and I was happy that i got some money out of my old clothes and satisfaction that they will end up with someone who would appreciate them more. In another review for this business someone mentioned that the people in this store were not friendly enough and were actually rude. My take on this is that you have been spoiled by phony corporate pretenses, who actually charge you 100 dollars extra for that unnecessary fake smile. But if you are happy with that then good for you but what in the world are you doing in a used clothing store expecting to be pampered as if this was some Macy's. Have a little perspective and try not being petulant about things that are not the norm for you. read more

"I hate my wardrobe I'm going to Everyday People." Words I say approximately once per month. So sad that the Uptown store closed and that I used to live across the street from the STP one and now I don't. Still, it is a rare visit that I leave this shop empty handed. Yes, it's cramped but for some reason this just means that there are so many more clothes to sift through! I'm pretty much guaranteed to find at least one dress to bring home. I have yet to find a super rad pair of shoes or boots here though. They do have many nice high heels (which are not my forte.) Prices are so very reasonable which is part of its appeal. I don't think I've paid more than $20 for a dress and $10 for a shirt. The atmosphere is so so chill. It could be hip hop, could be electronic pop, could be funk and soul... music is perfect. The displays in the window (which are not available for purchase until the end of the month, I believe) are OFF THE HOOK. The mannequins in the store are also very well dressed. In fact, I once purchased a men's sweater off one of the in-store mannequins for my then-BF. When I go through my closet every few months I make a pile of clothes for Savers and one for Everyday People since I've come to understand their quality standards in clothing. read more

Neat little store. Went in here with someone else that brought in 7 bags of clothing! I was afraid that they'd clam up and say "sorry, only 1 bag minimum." Conveniently located across the street from a Starbucks of Patina, it's easy to hop on over there or simply browse their in-house selection of clothes. Once the employees have decided on what they would like to buy, they let you know how much they will sell it for, what they can offer you for in-store credit, and what they can offer you for cash. In-store will always be higher than the cash amount. I came back a few days later and dropped off some things myself. Was surprised they took anything (since I was prepared to just Goodwill the other items). Whatever they don't take, they donate to an Epilepsy foundation. It's nice that this location doesn't have that old, musty smell that some other consignment stores emit. Really nice staff, and a clean interior. Shopping in the store, I have to say I don't understand the concept where they combine mens and womens jeans on the same rack; it makes for a difficult time shopping for the right size/fit. read more

This place is the ultimate treasure hunt for amazing vintage finds. Everyday People is a consignment store by label but I would also say it's a vintage consignment store full of an assortment of goodies. It's a pretty decent sized and packed full of different racks. Yes, there are men's and women's clothing, accessories and shoes. I appreciate that everything is organized by size and type. I usually head straight for the dress racks. The prices vary depending on the item of course but are great deals all around. If something is marked a little higher (50+) it's because it's hella good. On my latest trip I struck gold. I found this green vintage dress with windmills on it. Y'all, it's like it was made for me. I have never found a dress that was the perfect cut and fit like this. I couldn't believe it. For $30, it will be something I cherish forever. I highly recommend this place to any vintage hunter. Just give yourself the time and patience to find your real gems. read more

This is a great little shop to take a look-see at. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Great place to shop for a coat or jacket. They have a big selection of jeans. The prices are awesome if you know your brands you can appreciate getting Free People, Joes, Lucky, True Religion for around 30.00....Like all of these stores it is hit or miss but certainly if you find something you can feel good about getting a deal and have more drinking money for all the amazing pubs in St. Paul... read more

The clothes here are in good shape, but I didn't see much for vintage wear. I did see a lot of Forever 21 and Mossimo. What the eff? I wish they had more jewelry. Also, if it were my store, I would've figured out a better way to display the bags and shoes. Currently, all the bags are mashed together on a rack in the darkest part of the store....perhaps because they were ashamed of the ugliness of them? The shoes are on top of the clothing racks and didn't appear to be organized by size. What is up with the women's pants and skirts organized by waist size? Perhaps it's an attempt to be more boutiquey. I find it annoying. I was much more impressed with the men's selection. I'll probably stop in with my boyfriend next time he's in the market for jeans. read more

I went over with a box of clothes, after having cleaned out my closet. The buyer/ salesperson there was really nice and helpful. Clean and organized store, if a little packed in. Most of what I found on the shelves was polyester and much of the other stuff had interesting design...think 1974 coming back. I was paid a fair price for the few items that were selected, but most things weren't taken. The buyer was fast, too. If you're looking for the really interesting dress or funky patterned shirt, this is the place for you. Nice selection of jeans and almost everything was in clean and in good repair. Parking can be a bit of a drag, so be patient. This is a busy little corner so use caution! read more

Aside from Mossimo and Forever 21 I find myself continually finding designer labels I don't often see in other consignment stores (read: BCBG, Luxe, Betsey Johnson, etc.). I think shoppers should keep in mind that this isn't a vintage clothier, rather an upbeat and contemporary consignment store. If you want vintage, walk two storefronts up to Lula. I have to disagree with the other reviewer and say that I enjoy when clothes are separated by size. It would be more helpful if the dress, shirt, and coat racks were organized this way also. The store is very cramped and the rounders in the back - especially towards the shoes - are very hard to maneuver past. A dedicated EPCE shopper can look past this though for the treasures they might find. Agree that the bags could be displayed better...there is a section next to their current rack that is being used as a place to stash unwanted clothes from the dressing rooms that could definitely be utilized for display purposes. Speaking of the dressing rooms: they are atrocious. Only one hook per room to hang clothes and the curtain does not even conceal the whole room when it is closed. The rings that keep the curtain closed do not serve their purpose well and continually get stuck on the bar. This makes for a frustrating experience when one has an armful of goodies but nowhere to put them! I have resorted to hanging the clothes on the curtain itself when I am in there. Prices are very reasonable. Typically a shirt won't go more than $10-15 while bottoms can range from $5 at the low end to $40+ for some well-known designer pants. Their small staff become regular faces when you shop and are attentive without being overbearing. I like that there is always a new soundtrack whenever I shop, just another thing to look forward to. read more

Everyday People is a great places to find nice, gently used women's and men's clothing. It small enough that you can go though most of what they have there in your size for shirts and pants in one visit. The stock is always changing, though. In particular, I think they have a good shoe selection. The prices are pretty reasonable, like $10-20 for a shirt and $20-30 for pants and shoes. I haven't have the best experience with the 'exchange' part of the store. I brought in a bunch of stuff (3 pants, 1 pair of shoes, 3 tops) that I had gotten there. I had liked them in the store but they didn't end up working into my regular clothes line up. But they wouldn't buy them from me, even though I had purchased them there. read more

I'm generally very pleased with my Everyday People experience. They are less picky than the Buffalo Exchange when it comes to buying clothes (Yeah!). The selection is pretty good- not a lot of vintage action going on but you can find a few things. You will find lots of designers for Target brands and Forever 21 stuff in here (Boo!!)among the D & G and Betsey Johnson. You gotta look hard but that's part of the fun. I want to love this place soooo much. The window displays and the selection of stuff inside are so pleasing to me. There's just the right amount of new and old funkiness. I can't love it right now, however, because the last several times I have been in, the customer service was outstandingly poor, especially compared to nearby shops. It's right in my neighborhood and I really wish that the people (maybe the same person?)(I will have to pay more attention next time) were much more friendly so I could spend a lot more money there. I brought in a bag of shoes that I was getting rid of on Tuesday night, and the guy who helped me sincerely seemed thrilled and very grateful that I had brought my things to their store. He popped up from behind a counter when I walked through the door, and promptly went through all that I bore. I had barely browsed through two racks when he came back and let me know he was finished. I typically expect a dismissive attitude and a bit of a wait in this type of situation! Then he proceeded to thank me earnestly for coming in, as though I had done him a personal favor. How sweet! A decent selection of mens' clothing, jackets and shoes, which is in itself remarkable. I still can't believe I found a pair of Levi's in my size, in perfect condition, for $15. What you'll find is a luck of the draw proposition, but there's always something worth buying. For me, this isn't the kind of place where I find lots of items, but rather it's the place where I find a few items that are totally squared away. Prices are extremely fair. 3.5: Everyday People is like your corner store for consignment-wear/random vintage finds. There's just enough selection to have a good half-hour flip and browse, but the something that's missing is the "ah-hah!" piece. I would say the tops section for women is their best assortment. It's a mix of new and old, conservative and slinky wear. I saw designers for Target stuff (under $15), Jcrew stuff ($20 range), and the occasional contemporary designer like Leifsdottir (new-w-tags dress at $60) and Jean Paul Gaultier Femme (shirt priced at $15 - beyond a steal if you like his work). I tried on several skirts, most skirts and dresses seem to be vintage or current but several seasons old, but didn't end up buying anything. Prices weren't bad; a 100% wool Pendleton brand plaid skirt was $15 in royal blue and purple. I will likely stop by if I'm making a day of consignment shopping. read more

I've experienced better from Everyday People. Truly saddened by the shift that this shop has been pushed in. Used to be my favorite consignment store in the cities, cause I've had some serious finds here. This is the last store front though, and it seems to be struggling. Yes they have new things when I stop in, but I'm surprised that I keep seeing items here up to 6 months later. Prices not lowered. They don't seem to groom their selection, which I find odd. I stop in every few months, since their jeans and pants sections are stellar, but frequent visits aren't worth it for me. read more

Went here today to try to unload some clothes after cleaning my closet. They didn't take everything but I got a lot of money for what they did want. They give 30% of what they sell it for if you take the cash or 50% if you take store credit. The guy working was super nice. I looked around while I was waiting and didn't see anything I couldn't live without. Agree with the other reviewers about it being very cramped. Everyday People is a great second hand clothing store. Yes, they sell Target brands and Forever 21, however, the prices are greatly reduced from what you would even pay at those stores. (Both of which can get pricey, surprisingly) The styles are always up to date, so brand recognition isn't as important to me as looking good. But if you are concerned with brands, they have all types. I've seen Betsy Johnson, Levi's, BCBG, Louis Vuitton, and everything in between. For a small store, they have a lot. Men's Apparel, Women's, Bags, Shoes, Scarves, Hats, Jewelry. Everyone working there has always been courteous. There was even a girl working there who told us other stores where you could get amazing second hand deals. So if you're ever in the Merriam Park area, I suggest stopping by. read more
