This location is mostly close to where I live so I often visit here. It was a bit slower during the holidays, but they are picking back up at Spring approach, and slowly bring in the spring flowers and decoration. They have more selection of plans and garden decorations during the spring season. The nurse we have a good amount of parking space and it's very clean inside. Staff are friendly, and they provide a good service. Obviously, you know Bockman is not cheap, but depends on what you're getting the quality of the products reflect its price. I often like to come and stroll through the store, cause you never know what you'll find that's very eye-catching, and to your liking. Did you have a gift shop and floors on site with some minimal plants? It's a bit quiet at this location because it's not the main store but it's a great place to visit for relaxation. I got some seat from here and garden decorations. I like their vases choice and often bought several already. read more

Ordered flowers for my sister's memorial service over the phone and was totally disappointed. They assured me for $150 we would get a nice bunch of flowers with height. With delivery and tax came to over $190.00. I requested Gladiolus for height and a basket. They were in a vase and no Gladiolus and some flowers looked dead- they may have frozen on the way th the funeral home. I was embarrassed to ask my sisters to contribute with how the arrangement looked. i called Bachman's and spoke to Ryan who said he would talk to the design team and tell them the flowers weren't up to my expectation and he hoped I would shop at Bachman's again. read more

I live out of state and googled to find the closest florist to the hospital where my friend is having (emergency) surgery. Trying to call was a nightmare so one of the answering recordings suggested ordering online, which I did. I went through the process and was very surprised by the fees (I live in Nashville and its not cheap here) but continued with the order since they are local. I just received a call that the order was rejected twice (?? I ordered it only a few hours ago) the first time because the patient was still in surgery and then the 2nd time because there are lilies in the bouquet. They will only redeliver for another $30 charge. Hospital orders are apparently final as well. I was also told that all of this, plus more is on the website. Which I completely did not see (and took quite a bit to locate as I've gone back to search). I am so very disappointed in their customer service, lack of options, and lack of initiative to help someone (especially when a little observation you'd notice I am not local and the delivery is to a hospital). read more

She is truly emthusiast gardener, horticulturer. I wanted some items and advice regarding my small mulberry plant that I just purchased. Kathleen Z spent as much time with me as needed without making me feel like I am taking her time. She even shared with me some very appreciated knowledge about my other existing fruit trees . Stop to see if they could do a garden planter in large outdoor containers for a grand opening. It was only 4 days to the opening. They picked out the plants and helped with the selection of containers. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I wish I remembered the staff name. I will be back. I recommend calling ahead to verify any TV specials they are running. I was just in the store to go and see their perennials they advertised on the TV add and on their board outside the shop. Well here is what is 20% dying salvia and that is it. Nothing else. So they should be saying a limited supply of perennials are currently 20% off not just assuming it's all. The people there were helpful but didn't know either what was on sale for perennials told me the annuals were perennials. I work for a flower shop so I'm very well versed in annuals verses perennials. Another bonus, love they have everything sectioned off and labeled very clear and shows height and size and colors. Love that. So if they could get the sales part corrected I would go back they have lovely inventory and warranty on perennials. read more

Drove from Woodbury because I want to make sure that I'm buying only neonic-free plants. But very very disappointing. Selection was poor for herbs, annuals and perennials. Employees were unhelpful. Prices are high. Wanted white daisies. How hard is that? When I asked for help, the guy said he didn't know. Thanks a bunch. Wanted marigolds and zinnias. Only orange color available. Wanted native wildflowers. None. Hanging baskets are so high it's impossible to reach them unless you're blessed with height. Herbs are picked over. Many are beat up and broken. Went early in the day (10-ish) to avoid the heat. But I had to dodge water water everywhere. Came home with wet legs, feet and shoes. Many items were difficult to reach so rather than hurt myself, I just left them. Many lost sales, maybe a lost, formerly loyal customer. Not the Bachman's of previous years. Tomorrow I'll patronize the tent garden stores. read more

I love little boutique flower shops, however, this Bachman's is probably one of the best flower shops in the area. I can't find a flower shop in the Maplewood area that has a better selection of fresh flowers, plants and gifts. I always know that when I go there, I will find something to fit the bill. They have these mini bouquets that are around $7.99 a piece, and they are so pretty, so much nicer and unique as compared to anything you will find at a grocery floral. Also, they will wrap them up beautifully for you, making them look far more elegant. The only thing I don't like is the traffic on White Bear Ave, kind of a hassle. read more

Bachmann's has a name in the Twin Cities I had thought was synonymous for quality and worth the higher costs. Since moving to the East Coast I always relied on them when I needed flowers delivered to my parents or family in Woodbury. Such was the case this Valentines Day. In my phone order I explained the flowers were for my 90+ year old parents. I agreed the designer could use whatever she thought looked nice. Later my sister in law sent me a picture of the product that was delivered--a white vase with red lips, Xs and Os all over it. The assorted flowers would only possibly have looked nice in simple vase. Over all it was completely inappropriate for my elderly parents. It was obvious to me that they were getting rid of a tacky seasonal vase that may not be requested by a person in the store and they would not have sent it to someone whom they expected would ever see the arrangement. I called Bachmann's after seeing the picture, told them I was embarrassed by the quality and tastelessness of the arrangement, asked for an apology and refund and have never heard back. I am more than disappointed. There are many florists in the St Paul area, and most more affordable; I will not use Bachmann's again. read more

They have a great selection, and you know you are getting quality when you buy here. My only problem is that they have like 20 employees wandering around basically begging you to let them help you, which is cool, if you don't know what you want, but when you go to checkout, there is only one or two at the most people at the cash register. They should transfer some of the people who are wandering around to the register to make that faster. read more
