My wife and I recently had to make arrangements to provide the adult beverages for our son's destination wedding reception in Lynchburg, VA. We made a preliminary visit to Lynchburg to look for vendors for some of the festivities, and the BNB owner told us about Everyday Sommelier. We contacted Scott and Tonya Hengerer and told them our parameters, and they put together a sampling of wines to consider within our budget. We met with them for a tasting of the samples at Everyday Sommelier, and they really hit the mark!! They are truly knowledgeable, helpful, and kept in touch with us throughout the entire process. This wine shop is run by three Level 3 sommeliers. I doubt you can find that many advanced sommeliers within 100 miles of Lynchburg. I walked in off the street after lunch just to peruse. I was welcomed with decade old Italian imported olive oils, cheeses, and balsamic vinegar to complement a red and white which they taste every day. Most of their wines are under $30 per bottle and they sell 6 pack global assortments of wine for about $60 which are generally about a $90 bottle. On my visit, I picked up the most well-balanced chardonnay from Lebanon and a bottle of Herman Story Boltcutter which isn't even available for sale outside of their wine club. read more

Brad and other staff members will take the time to learn what type of wine or flavors that you enjoy and will be able to help you find bottles that suit your palate and your budget. I cannot say enough great things about Everyday Sommelier. What a gem we have here in Lynchburg. I learn so much every time I go in. Scott, Tonya and Brad are so knowledgeable about wines and the regions they come from. They have some of the most unique wines from around the world. In addition they have a full line of food items from Tuscany (my favorite place on Earth). I have only known them a short time but feel like I have known them forever. read more

It is worth a trip just to meet the owners and see their incredible selection of wines and champagnes from all over the world. They have personally selected their inventory to meet both the taste preferences and budget of their patrons. Last Spring, the owners of Everyday Sommelier, a business new to the Lynchburg area, offered to assist with our adult only school fund raising event. Pleasant surprise in downtown Lynchburg! Great global selection of wines and knowledgeable staff. Not stuffy or overpriced. Used to have to drive to purchase decent wines but now I can walk with their convenient location off 5th street. The owners know what they're doing and it shows in selection, price and education.
