This place is an institution really, and it's not hard to see why. Joe has got not just an excellent collection of racquets (tennis, badminton, squash and related equipment), but also great knowledge of what would suit a player best according to his style of play. He's even strung for Tour level players at the US Open multiple times! This knowledge is well passed onto Rob, who helped me find just the right tennis racquet and strings. The prices seem to match anything you get online, but it's well worth coming here for that added friendly touch and peace of mind knowing that you'll get a solid job done. Everyone's Racquet is truly a special tennis and sporting goods shop right in Center City Philadelphia. Joe, the owner and his staff are so knowledgeable, helpful, and polite! There is such a great selection of items there always and Joe and his staff know what people need for their game and lifestyle. I understand that they have been there for quite a number of years. Lucky for Philly! I noticed that they also have Pickleball paddles and balls. (Probably the fastest and newest growing racquet game in the country!) Joe and his staff are also available and quite capable of playing with customers should you need a hitting partner. Would always come back to shop there! I took an 18 year break from playing tennis and just got back in the game about 2 months ago. I went to the store and met Rob. He was very helpful and honest answering my questions. I dropped off my antique racquets (remember 18 year break) for new string and grip. It felt great playing again, but I needed a better racquet. I went back to the store and decided it would be best for me to demo a couple racquets before making a larger purchase on racquets. Rob was extremely helpful and spot on with which racquets I would like and not like. After a few weeks of demoing different ones, I bought 2 last week and a bag. It feels great to back on the court often. I recommend this store for all levels of player. Staff is very helpful and quick. I came once to look for a new racquet and they offered me a demo day. I got to play with 14 various racquets, hitting with a pro at an indoor court for an hour. The cost was modest, but it allowed me to choose a new racquet. I come here for all my tennis needs now. read more

First off, I'm surprised this place hasn't gotten hundreds of positive reviews yet. As someone who hasn't touched a tennis racquet for years, I was more than a bit rusty on my tennis knowledge. The staff explained all the ins and outs extremely well, asked about my playing style, and took his time to help me make my selection. Same day strung my racquet (as I was going to be out of town very soon). Very friendly, definitely not pushy at all on sales, and just all around a great experience. How great is this place?!? Pretty great! Went in for a re-gripping on my racquets - got both done for $20! Not bad at all. And it only took about 15 minutes. Terrible customer service. I went in to buy my first pair of tennis shoes in a long time and I really relied on their advice and sizing. They convinced me to buy an expensive pair, promising it would break in. Well, after a month my feet hurt so bad I can barely walk in them. So, went back to the store, and the old guy wouldn't stand by his product or his assistant's poor advice. I'll be buying online from now on. read more

My fiance and I wandered into Joe's store back in February or March on a tip that Joe does private lessons. We were out playing with him the next morning, and since then, we've never looked back. Joe is a really great instructor, as is Chuck, another guy in the store. We showed up to our first lesson with crappy, $20 rackets, and Joe kept bringing us demos of nice rackets to try. He never pushed us to purchase, however, since nice racquets really sell themselves. It was only in May that we splurged on our own, but Joe has a nice selection of used racquets, which my fiance picked up one of. I'm a princess so I got a new one, but really, his is identical to mine in new-ness. I believe the going rate for an hour of lessons is $80, but if you buy in packages of four or eight, he'll give you a discount. For two of us, that's $40/pp which really is not too bad. It's so much fun! Joe, Chuck and Robert will make you love tennis. read more

Great shop! 1-stop shopping for racquets, clothes, balls, etc. Demo racquets available. These guys know how to string a racquet: the stringing is consistent, turnaround is quick, and they don't try to upsell you with strings you don't need.
