We have a classic mid-century Ju-Nel home with a courtyard and needed custom windows to line the entire front of our home. John understood exactly what we envisioned and had already installed the same type of windows on many mid-century (modern) homes in our neighborhood. We have 72"x82" floor-to-ceiling custom windows that are TO DIE FOR plus sliding doors that match and they are all uniform...just gorgeous! The process from measurements through final installation was seamless. Once installed, we immediately noticed that our A/C didn't have to work as hard since they were so much more energy efficient than the previous windows. The craftsmanship is top-notch, locally made in Dallas with a lifetime warranty. The price was competitive and we were confident they had a better grasp of our vision than any of the 3 competitors. He had no succession plan for the business. The lifetime warranty for the windows is still enforced. You have to contact the window manufacturer - Anlin to put a service ticket or contact Ken Freeman who is the current Anlin Sales Rep for the DFW area (214) 449-6089 and leave a message (He is aware of Mike's passing and knew Mike well). Ken was able to perform fixes he can easily do being a former installer and send out an Anlin service tech from CA to inspect and fix my windows under the lifetime warranty at no charge. Anlin will also cover any damages if it is a manufacturer defect.

I was initially contacted by Mark Shinner, owner, to schedule an estimate. Mark said his son Adam…read morewould be the person coming out. Mark did an initial measurement and quote. Once we agreed to the type and pricing for these Vistamark windows and a small down payment provided; Mark and Adam scheduled their installer to come out the following week. Scott came out about a week later to refine the measurements exactly. The windows were ordered shortly thereafter through their Waxahachie plant for Vistamark windows. Adam was available if needed but once the pricing was agreed upon there wasn't a lot of need for our interaction with a few exceptions. Adam responded promptly when text or called. In summary we are happy with these beautiful new, energy efficient windows, having replaced our builder grade windows from 24 years ago. We had several other window companies out over a year's time with prices all over the map. A year and a half later, we're having to find someone else to finish the job. The project is only about two-thirds of the way done, even though we've paid nearly the full quoted amount. Despite a big upfront payment, Luis continually asked us for more money to "accelerate the work" but we never saw more than incremental progress and long stretches with no work at all. We've now hired a lawyer to try to recover the money we paid for work that was never completed (or in some cases never even started). This has been an incredibly stressful situation over the last year, and has caused our family a major financial loss. I wouldn't wish what we have been through on anyone. I can give more info on request, but really, just find a different contractor to work with.
