I now understand jewelry selection is a one on one/personalized step before my appointment but I made the mistake of browsing beforehand (I was excited and traditionally that's not an issue). I asked the guests at the counter if it was okay to look at a display that it looked like they were done with (bc I was trying to be mindful of others and didn't want to interfere with their experience) after receiving a "yeah no problem" I gently slid it over but Kat swiftly snatched the display out from in front of me and said "actually we ask that you don't touch the displays and also you can go ahead and sit down until we call you for your turn" in a very snarky & intentionally nasty tone. I truly almost left. Redirection is fine but that was a distasteful way to introduce me to an establishment that up until that moment was perceived as top tier. I think Blair may have noticed and without speaking on it very gracefully turned around my experience and I'm grateful that she did. Overall the place is great. On top of the terrible quality, the worker spent the session complaining to me about how hard their job is (knowing I'm a nurse) and whining about people not tipping enough. Evolution is clean, consistent and has been around for many years. My first experience was with them when I was 16 to get my belly button pierced I have since been going to Noah and I am now 34. I am never disappointed. Noa is very quick with his piercings and precise. He's honest about the pain levels with certain locations of piercings. I love their selection of jewelry. I have been able to reuse my jewelry for multiple years. I love their new award system. I wish we could totally backdate it for all my previous jewelry. I've purchased, but I am thrilled to still continue to go there for my jewelry and sometimes my new piercings as I'm getting older. I got my double nostrils pierced here. it was quick and relatively painless. The employees were very nice and great at their jobs. they have a great selection of jewelry as well! I got some opals. the space was clean and well kept overall it was great! the only thing that was a bit killing to me was the price. it was about 200$ to get my double nostrils with the price of jewelry added in. Once upon I time I got a piercing from a super random place and to put it simply, I know just how wrong things can go if you don't go to a good place. When I moved to ABQ my freshman year of college, everyone talked about how great Evolution was. I am so grateful for those recommendations back in the day! Noah did a custom J-curve for me that I still have in today. Now I have jewelry pieces from Evolution that have lasted me years. Their stuff is super high quality and not to mention the pieces are beautiful. I love that they have a massive selection of body pieces for just about every location you can imagine (and some I would rather not think about lol). As for my most recent visit, I had a smooth experience with Syndesi. I made an appointment for 6:00 PM and it did take a little longer than it would have pre-COVID. I highly recommend making an appointment and paying more attention to their hours as they have changed. They now close at 7 which is a pretty big change from my past experiences. The changes are manageable and you can be assured they are taking extra precautions with COVID. I am so in love with my new nostril piece! They had some beautiful pieces in but I just couldn't say no to an adorable little Zia from BLVA. Now for the real fun part, the healing process. I highly recommend Evolution for any piercing needs or even just if you want to upgrade an old piercing with a high quality piece of jewelry. Dropped in to to see if a piece I purchased on Etsy would work for my rook. Unfortunately or fortunately it did not work out. The earring itself was not made right and would have been uncomfortable if they had put it in which I had a feeling that might be the case before going in. Noah the head piercer at the shop worked with me to see if there was something in the shop or out of his collection I might like. We were able to find something I liked after looking at some pictures of his work. He did not have one in stock but said it would not take long and he would go make it right then and there. Sweet right! I filled out the paperwork since it was my first time in the shop. I picked them based on their yelp reviews of course! The piercing shop is tranquil and relaxing there are fountains and lots of plants that really do give it a spa like experience. My wait was short and relaxing. I have not gotten a piercing in a very long time, the last time I did was when I was younger and I had a horrible experience. I called Evolution a few days before I went in asking them general questions about a helix piercing. I'm not sure who I spoke with, but they were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. A couple of days after, I go in to get my helix pierced. Allen was super helpful in showing me which ones I could choose from. I filled out some paperwork, waited 2 minutes, and was called to the back to get it done. Let me just say, this place is absolutely so clean. It's insane! My son was in town to celebrate his 21st birthday and wanted to get a nose piercing. His request was kind of last minute, so I was doubtful we'd find a piercing studio that could accommodate a last minute request. Evolution had been recommended by several people on a local Facebook group I'm in, so I headed over to their website to see if I could set up an appointment. The scheduling process was quick, efficient, and easy. Within two hours we were in the shop selecting jewelry and getting my son's nose pierced. Evolution is a class act! The entire staff was wearing masks, as were all the customers (which is required for entry). Hygiene is an utmost priority, as it should be -- and it shows. We took our 5-year-old to get her ears pierced at Evolution today. We saw Noah. I made the appointment online about a week in advance. There were appointments available before a week out but I needed Friday afternoon and wasn't in a rush. Our experience with Noah was fantastic. He was kind, gentle, funny, and welcoming of ALL 4 of us showing up to watch my youngest get pierced. The studio is clean and sterile. I will NOT ever allow my children to go anywhere else to get pierced. Our youngest got pierced at a kids hair salon and I will not do that again. To get my youngest pierced with Noah (including earrings, cleaner, and getting pierced was $195 with tip. A lot more than I paid at other child salon place and it I'm fine with that. As long as Evolution is in business we will be customers. Here are a few things: 1. Masks are required. They will provide one of you don't have one. 2. Kids have to sign paperwork and then stents/guardians have to prove guardianship via birth certificate or other legal paperwork. 3. More expensive than I expected but worth every 100th of a penny. I decided super recently to get my nipples pierced. I was so nervous because I'm extremely sensitive there and all my friends told me it was the most painful thing they've ever done so I thought it would be even worse for me. Syndesi did an amazing job calming me down and was so professional, kind and understanding which definitely helped. The piercing wasn't anywhere near as painful as I thought it would be and it didn't even get sore after a few hours or the next day. I went in to have my swollen double helix hoops changed out for studs, and the guy didn't use a long enough post. Right away my ear felt tight; I couldn't tell if it was just new jewelry irritation or what. One day later and the lower and smaller jewelry has basically been sucked back into my ear and is moderately painful. I have had this procedure done before, and my last (wonderful, professional, Phoenix AZ) piercer was diligent enough to use a longer post for the swollen part. Not that hard to figure out. Examine the problem before you just shove something in there. I called the store today and the gal cheerfully said they could not have anticipated "more swelling," uh 1) even if it had stayed at the same level of swelling, it needed a longer post and 2) you absolutely Should anticipate more swelling, especially when going from an 18gg to 16gg. The girl on the phone told me to use ice and ibuprofen. I'm going to go to a shop in Santa Fe to have it fixed because I don't have time to go all the way back to Abq. Super disappointed, waste of money. Also- I overheard one of the desk girls trying to turn someone away for a simple missing ball replacement for a navel piercing. Just sell the girl a ball, don't make her "come back tomorrow with an appointment," she can put it on herself. Really turned off by the whole experience. read more

Evolution is a unique shop that takes what they do nothing but serious. They have a great reputation which is why I chose to go there when I got my nose pierced about two years ago. I recently visited them to get my other nostril pierced. I walked in but imagine they may take appointments as well. It was a saturday and they were quite busy as to be expected. I was acknowledged and assisted in no time. They have a lot really beautiful jewelry to browse while you wait. The staff and the piercers are very knowledgeable and will happily answer any questions you have so don't be shy. I went with a girlfriend who had recently got her other nostril pierced as well. She was going to change out her flat back and give it to me for my piercing. We thought it would be a simple switch but found that it would take a few hours to fully sterilize the jewelry. The more you know! I had my nose pierced by Noah last time and requested him again. He is very personable, down to earth and makes the process very easy and comfortable.
