Namaste. Just this past Tuesday I made a pact with myself to get up early enough to try a class...6:30am in case your wondering. I took the om yoga express with Tammy. She lead the class with clear, fluid control...even with her back injury, she strained some muscles and could barely move. Being the newbie in class full of regulars can be a little uncomfortable, but not at this studio. I was allowed to borrow a mat (from out of town) and felt nothing but encouragement in a inviting space. I especially loved the affirmations Tammy used in her instruction and heard a few songs I am trying to download onto my ipod. Overall this was a great studio that I would love to utilize again when I am in the area. read more

I cannot express in words how much I miss this studio! I transplanted to the bay area about 15 months ago and cannot find anything that comes remotely close in comparison. I started practicing yoga in 2006 at Evolution with their once a week Yoga 101 class. Sandy, the owner of the studio taught the class while two other instructors were there for support. The assistant instructors walked the room, made adjustments, and suggested modifications for each student. I was hooked. Once I completed my 101 class, I was buying monthly unlimited passes and hitting the studio five to six times a week. Every instructor was AMAZING. I was practicing a diverse range of classes, including: Sculpting Yoga, Bikram, and Vinyasa Flow. The studio was remarkable to say the very least and I miss it and the instructors. I'll continue my search here in the bay area to find something close, but the bar is set high. read more

Twice I went here and both times I felt like a party crashed. Just wasn't a welcoming place.

A few months ago, I recieved a phone call from a friend in California, right after she had attended a Bikram yoga class. She insisted I find one, and go immediatly. I was a bit skeptical, seeing as the basis premise of Birkram yoga is to do yoga in a room heating to 105 degrees. I do not like being hot. I am always hot. This sounded like an expirience I would like to pass up. Then I did some research. Bikram yoga is like sprinting, you do a pose, hold it, sweat, and then you relax. Its great. I love the rest period. I have been a dancer for years, and sometimes find myself zoning out during some regular yoga classes, because I have done that while stretching since I was a child. There is no zoning in Bikram. I have never been so aware of every muscle, every breath, and every ailignment issue my body has. After the first hour and a half class I attending, I felt like I was on top of the world. As I threw on some layers over my sweaty body I sat in my car and in the middle of the dismal winter night, I saw beauty everywhere. Seriously. Bikram has changed my perspective. Yea, it creeps me out too. Evolution Yoga has all kinds of classes all the time, which make it a place I want to frequent. They only have Bikram twice a week, but believe me, but they have a wide array of classes that I would be willing to try. They also have a store in the front toting all sorts of cool yoga gear. If you go to Bikram, bring a beach towel! My first mistake was forgetting this key element. It is hard to hold a pose when you are sliding all over the place. It really could be quite the commical routine. Bring water too- you will need it. I sweat more during Bikram than I did performing on an outdoor stage in the middle of Oklahoma wearing clothing from the 1800s in the middle of August. It was a good sweat though. I promise. Just don't wear clothes form the 1800s. That would just be silly. Try it. Its difficult. But it feels soo good. read more

when i first moved back to clevo about a year ago, i was in search of a bikram studio to continue my practice. that fell to the wayside when i realized there weren't any studios, and i had to take up a new style. then, this winter, i found evolution. decent studio. clean. well run. good website where you can actually register for classes. but here's my beef: they only offer two bikram classes a week. i know they're not primarily a bikram studio, and only offer it as an alternative or in addition to your other yoga practice, but i mean....friday nights and early sunday mornings. that's when the bikram classes are offered. i had signed up for a five class bikram pass, and thought i'd use it in a week. but it was hard to make it to the classes. i mean, you go on a friday night, you're there until like 8 pm. if you have plans on a friday, that kinda pushes them back a few hours. and sunday mornings? at like, 8:45? oy. i don't even get up at early for work. when i did go to the classes, i liked them. but the scheduling just sucked. cleveland. give me more bikram. i'd be a happy girl. read more

The Bikram Yoga class at Evolution Yoga is amazing! Rick Schwartz makes the class beyond great. His explanation of the poses and why they are beneficial is so helpful. I leave that class feeling healthier and more energized than ever. Please add more Bikram classes taught by Rick to your schedule. read more

I went for a class and finally felt like I got what I expected out of a yoga practice. Instructor was great (Joe T.). I don't have tons of time to dedicate to anything besides work, my wife and kids so practicing here is a treat and worth my time away. read more

This store is a rip off. RIP-OFF YOGI Purchased a robe and cotton dress for my wife for mothers day. She opened the gift and discovered a tear and small holes in the dress. She liked the dress so I went immediately to exchange it. The sales person looked at the dress and saw the defect. I tried to exchange it for the same color but they did not have it so I chose another color. Since my wife liked it I told the salesperson I wanted another three dresses in different colors and two more robes for a total of $450.00. The owner "Sandy"came from the back. The sales person had already completed the transaction and I had the bags on the floor on my side of the counter. The salesman asked her to look at the damaged dress. The owner without knowing I had purchased three additional dresses and the two robes took one look at the dress then sniffs it and told me she was not taking the dress back because it had been worn and smelled like smoke. I had smoked a cigar on the way to the mall with the dress in the bag. I told here that the dress was damaged and unless she planned to resale the damaged dress the smoke was irrelevant. She then shouted at me and said that that the dress was not sold in that condition and I was lying about the damage and still refused to give me credit. I then pulled the bags of my new purchases up and told her that I wanted to return what I had just bought. She then said she did not like my "tone" and was "calling the police". I was upset but I had just been called a lair but at no time used any foul language or do anything but state may case. While I was waiting for the refund on the new purchases she told me again she did not like my tone and picked up the phone and threatened to call the police if I continued to argue. Lets face it Sandy you just hated the fact that I was a smoker and dared to enter your self-righteous Yoga world and you started to berate me before even knowing the facts. I have stopped the credit card purchased for the damaged goods. read more

I am having a hard time sticking with a teacher I like at this place. They seem to have a lot of turn over in teachers, and I have heard some complaining about that too. I am sticking with a studio with a schedule that doesnt change so much. read more
