I found the box/gym because my high school friend took me to his gym while I was back in town and have been joining him and his family for the past 2 years when I go back to where we grew up. The space reeks of nostalgic CF gyms and that makes me yearn for the days when it wasn't as corporate as some places have become. It's situated in an industrial park and lacks the creature comforts that some boxes have embraced (like A/C, for example). It's beyond clean for a CF gym and has oodles of equipment and devices to ensure you get a proper workout and instruction from one of the many qualified and excellent coaches. The membership embraced me and my loud nonsense (personality) which isn't always the case when I'm visiting other CF locations. They are all supportive, engaging to new people (there have been other instances where I wasn't the only drop-in that class), and there's no territorial or ego struggles among the members. Alex has created a culture that embodies what the name means and has meant for the past 2 decades. I can't recommend TPA/CF enough for people in the area or those looking for a place to drop in and not be judged or held at arm's length the entire time. This is a place for fitness, improvement, and celebration of the fitness journey. What Alex has created here is something truly special and I will be returning soon.

Unfortunately it has become more and more crowded to the point of excessive overcrowding. There is no such thing as an off peak time to go. In the summer months, I don't go at all due to all the camp children overrunning the building and outdoor grounds. You can't even use the outdoor track because the kids are all over it. Despite having two large grass areas at their disposal, the counselors allow these children to be all over the track including their backpacks. This causes an obstacle for those trying to run and walk on the track. Inside is no better. If you are an adult and want to use the pool between the hours of 11:30 am - 1:30 pm in the summer months, forget about it. If you dare to go in you risk being kicked, pushed and smacked by the large amount of children in the pool. I will still maintain my membership, but will not be going in the summer months. On a positive note, all the staff I have encountered are nice and helpful.

I have been a member at many gyms, this one is not my favorite. It's closer to my least favorite. I don't know what they spend our dues on, but it doesn't appear to be the facility. However, most of the employees are helpful and it appears to be a great place for kids especially in summer, just not that nice for adults that have a history of gym membership. It's a good choice for parents with young children.
