Not as advertised. Not suitable for beginners. Awfully expensive. A bit disorganized…read more I received a lesson/fitting package as a gift. The gift giver was assured that the experience would be suitable for a beginner. Nope! Much of the lesson involved golf swing jargon that just isn't going to be understood by a beginner. Hey, if you know the difference between an open and closed shoulder in your backswing, or the difference between a strong and weak grip (hint: now I know it's nothing to do with how hard you grab the club), then you aren't a beginner, and GolfTec might work for you. Anyway, I stood open mouthed as my coach spewed utter jibberish at me. I stopped him early, and let him know I didn't understand the lingo. Didn't really help. Despite their claims, they really don't have a curriculum for beginners. Beginners need a bunch of instruction in set up and swing fundamentals that really don't benefit from GolfTec's (admittedly cool) elaborate video and computer swing tracking technology. Hey, I get that an advanced golfer, who swings consistently, might love the video breakdown looking for swing faults. A beginner is going to have enough self evident swing faults that this technology is overkill. It's like using a sledgehammer to push in a tack. And GolfTec is expensive. Anyone getting lessons on a weekly basis is definitely going to be paying GolfTec the equivalent of a car payment. Hey, I'm not saying it's not worth it. It's just that for beginners, there are cheaper and more efficient ways to learn the fundamentals. My friends who have had success with GolfTec are both far from beginner level, and are pretty indifferent to cost. If that describes you, great! You might love GolfTec. Me, not so much. Not as advertised.

It's walking only Tuesday-Thursday. The staff are not super nice but not rude. The pace of play was average, with 4somes walking 9 we finished in just under 2.5 hours. With this course, you come for the links but you'll stay for the views. This course has one of the best views in the city. You can see the city skyline and mountains that are the backdrop right off the clubhouse. If you stay for a drink or meal after your round you'll want to grab a table on the newly renovated patio. They have some cool historical exhibits in the foyer. Additionally, I always appreciate a course that supports first tees! Pristine tee boxes, well kept greens and fairways. Very interesting layout, the back 9 holes are jumbled into the front 9. Concrete cart paths with curbs. Holes 3-6 and 9 all next to the road. We played on the front 9 and majority of the tee boxes are next to the street and that's a bit obnoxious because of the noise, but that just not my thing. I rented clubs and they were decent. I'd say that they could use an upgrade to newer/ less worn equipment. And not having a towel or brush on the bag was whack. I couldn't clean my clubs off in between shots. Also, I'd never rented clubs that didn't come with tees or balls. That was new to me. Overall, the facility was really nice. They have a turf driving range, really nice chipping and putting green. They looked like they even had live entertainment on the patio.

Greens were medium in terms of speed but very smooth. Fairways were great and the rough was thick. This is my favorite flat course I have played. Tom Doak is an amazing golf course architect, and this is by far the cheapest course designed by him you'll find. Greens are wild. So many reveals when you get closer or go over a ridge. Number 3 is a great par 5 with a center line bunker that messes with your layup choices, and the punchbowl green is sweet. A couple of people I played with pulled their shots left and had some really tough chips coming in. Number 10 is a short par 4 that I would play differently next time. Very wide open on the left, more that you would think. Better angle into that green where trees guards the right side. I would not hit driver and go left, leaving a flip wedge in. Hole 11, a par 5, is my favorite. Didn't hit it well off the tee and ended up in that big cross bunker. Big mound short right of the green both kicks golf balls towards the middle of the green or propels balls over the right side of the green. Water is all up the left side is the hole. Great design. Absolute brutes from hole 14 to the finish. Fun track I'll try and play every time I'm in town. Very hard to get tee times, even during the week as a single. Driving range is huge and off grass. I think I saw three chipping greens and a big putting green. Plenty of areas to practice. Great course for a push cart.

Driving range was on grass but was mostly dirt by my 2pm tee time. Food was pricey and meh, and takeout service was incredibly slow. Nice starter and no pace of play issues. Course was in great conditions. I'd definitely return given how affordable it is to comparable tracks.

My kiddo just turned six and has been golfing for years now. I decided it was time to let him play a 'real adult course' after playing exclusively the First Tee par 3 courses around town. So first things first - the pro shop is out back of the building and a tiny bit tricky to locate the first time around. There's a bag drop out front, but doesn't need to be there. Just take your clubs straight back. The staff member who checked us in was very friendly. There is a discount for Junior golfers, but no such deal for veterans. All in all it was $25 to play (total for two of us) and we were able to tee off on time. The course is is great condition, and it is clear that they have a staff that cares about presentation and course management. The winding lake in the middle only brings water into play on a couple of the holes. The rest are pretty straight shots, and nothing is out of reach for most golfers. I think the longest was just short of 200 yards. We had a great day, and even though we had to wait at a number of tee boxes, the whole round only took aboutj 90 minutes. There is a very fun looking restaurant right as you step off the ninth green that we definitely want to try at some point, but it was a work day, so raincheck on that one. All in all, great experience.

The position of the two bench presses and incline bench are pushed up against the wall on the East side of the building. You cannot even get behind them without crawling around the weights or beams themselves. This is incredibly dangerous and a major safety issue. Whomever designed the layout of the weight room does not appear to have experience with weight training. The nautilus machines and free weight areas should probably be switched. There is nowhere to safely stretch (people do it under the stairs) or do ab exercises, box jumps, etc. Someone, with knowledge of weight training, should redesign the space for efficiency and safety.
