My daughter is a student at Ole Miss... 600 miles from home. She gets a quote for a MacBook Air battery replacement of between $90-150 (max). So she drives an hour to drop it off. This morning, they quote her $288. I call to explain it's a simple fix, which the tech says the 2017 batter is 'glued' and I had to have him GOOGLE that it's NOT glued, it's a quick swap. He admitted he was wrong. He then tells me his manager told him they could "knock off $100" and didn't know if they could "stop of the repair process". Claimed that Apple wouldn't allow them to stop the sale. Then was told that she could just buy the battery and get the laptop, around $120. When they got to the store, they refused to let her take it. So be warned, they will try to take advantage of your child. I'm a VERY upset father. 4 hours driving total, inflated price, ME having to explain the battery type... all for nothing. She's getting her new battery at UBreakiFix in Oxford. Very poor experience. Brand new iPhone 14 just started power-cycling and after going through Cspire and Apple troubleshooting was advised by Apple to bring my phone here for an appointment at 9am on 1-18 to be shipped off to be replaced because it's still under warranty and they are the closest to me doing business as Apple. Apple explained that Exceed would run the diagnostics to determine it wasn't repairable, and then ship my phone off to exchange for the new one and save me from having to "loan" Apple $900 to ship me out a replacement phone. These were the exact words from Apple. And if this is something that is not true, then there needs to be clarification when I go to the appointment, right? I ask a lot of questions, because of situations like this. When I got to the appointment, the associate who checked me in explained to me that it would be a week's time to run diagnostics, determine if it was fixable, and to either replace or repair. This is definitely different information than Apple gave to me. But, I didn't worry with it because I had already prepared myself for not having a phone for at least a week. The day after I dropped it off, someone from there called my son's phone number to get an authorization to erase the phone and at the same time my son provided my phone number to the technician to reach me because I had a burner phone turned on until I get mine back. That was 1-19-2023. Today is 1-24 and I haven't heard from them. I called this morning and had the pleasure of speaking with Colin. This person explained to me that whomever started the diagnostics hadn't taken very good notes and really didn't know where we were with the phone. As I had already been through so many avenues of trying to replace or repair my phone, I determined that answer was not good enough for me. I wanted answers. I interrupted Colin (and apologized because poor Colin did have to hear the brunt of my anxiety over this phone and the business I have been through with it) to let him know he was giving me old updates. I needed new information, please. He then explained that the tech who was working on it (I thought I was having it shipped off to be replaced?) had been out sick on Friday. It's Tuesday. My phone still hasn't been shipped off to be replaced like Apple promised me. Poor Colin didn't have an answer to give to me so I said you know what, let me talk to a boss or someone who can reassure me that I will have a phone before the end of 2023. Colin put me on hold for quite a few minutes only to hang up on me, but Colin doesn't know I have a secret weapon - A burner phone and a phone number to call him back. I called back to get Colin again. Poor Colin was tired of me I could tell because he didn't have the answers that I so desperately needed. I took the liberty of looking up who the owner of this establishment was on the Mississippi Secretary of State website and asked to speak to the person by name. Nope, he wasn't available either - he was out on a job site. I said ok, I will just leave a review online about the services I received here and poor Colin couldn't help himself "ooooh, I bet you will". That did it for me, because you know what Colin? All I'm upset about is that I have been told a multitude of different answers at this time and I just want the truth. Colin tells me I can just cancel the service and come get my phone. Nope, that's not an option Colin. Apple promised me something because Exceed operates as Apple for replacements and repairs.
