I bought a brand-new, long, suede sweater that goes to my knees. It has no buttons or belt, so I bought a zipper to transform it into a lightweight jacket to wear with my sweater dresses. I took it to Excel to sew the zipper onto the long sweater. She only charged me $12. She actually found a longer zipper in the same color. The outcome looked like it was made & sold in stores like that. I have received so many compliments and stares at my new sweater jacket, especially since I found suede boots the exact color. She also transformed another knee-long sweater/jacket by adding a side-tie closure. This sweater is a different material in which a zipper wouldn't look right. Do not use this company. I took a New with Tag top in to be hemmed. The lady that helped me has no personality. I think it was a bother for her to help me. I picked up the top approximately one week later. The odor was horrific. I immediately washed it and the odor remained. After about 10 days the odor has subsided. Also the workmanship was horrible. The machine tension was off in one section and the hem is not at all straight. Because this was a black and ivory top hemmed with white thread, it is very obvious. This will have to be redone. I paid $14 for this mess. I actually took 2 things in and fortunately after seeing all of the signs and the woman's rudeness I only left the one. This was not a welcoming place, had strong odor and workmanship is way below par. read more

Stopped by to ask about having a vest altered, since I have lost a bit of weight and the vest is now too big. I saw a sign on the front door that said "No fittings today," but I mainly just wanted to ask a few questions, like if the vest could be altered; how much it might cost; and when it could be done. I went in and spoke to the employee/owner politely, even complimenting him on his comic book themed shirt. He didn't really respond to that, so I told him I was wondering if the vest I had could be altered. He rolled his eyes and responded slowly and loudly, "Well...it CAN...but there's a GREAT BIG SIGN on the front door that says 'NO FITTINGS TODAY.' Did you NOT SEE THAT?" It was one of the rudest responses I've ever had from someone who deals with the public for a living. I've talked to some friends and a couple of them say they have heard of similar experiences at this location in the past. Needless to say, I'll never darken their doorway again. read more

Took a dress in to have alterations for a wedding. Upon dropping it off, I was asked if I'd like to pick it up the following day and I responded no rush, that I'd be in Friday (two days later) if they thought they'd have it done that quickly. They said okay, and sent me on my way. When I went to pick up my dress it was raining. They weren't busy traffic wise, but both employees were busy with other tasks. I had never had to have anything altered before and didn't know the process, so when the employee passed me my dress over the counter without showing me the work, I paid and went along my way. After leaving I called another bridesmaid and told her the excitement of me picking up my dress for her to express her concern with my not trying it on or anything before leaving, so I promised to try it on when I got home. I mean they were only taking two inches (MAYBE) off the bottom of the dress. Although the length fit fine after they took off the extra material, you can see how it was hemmed. I called them to express my concern and dissatisfaction with the work, explaining I've never gone through this process (taking ownership for my part) only for them to bark and be angry with me?! THEY KNOWINGLY PASSED THIS WORK OFF, and was insulted by my confusion/concern/displeasure. Finally, they offered me to bring it back in, but from their response and attitude, I did not feel welcome and didn't go back. I could not believe the level of unprofessionalism. read more

Completely happy ! I took my daughter's prom dress to be altered. Alterations were done in under a week and a half. Her dress had a lace applique and bodice that needed to be altered in order to fit around her neck and waist and they did it perfectly, can't even tell it was even altered. read more

This alteration shop is perfect if you only have something simple, ex. hem pants, sew on a button. I wasted money taking a very expensive dress in to have some add-ons, which they didn't do right so I had to go back, to get something done that was poorly sew on, that was supposed to be added on in the first place! Like I said if you need something minor done on a inexpensive item, this place would probably be fine but then again the minor addition was put on so poorly that I may need to retract that statement. Best piece of advice.. CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE, I SHOULD HAVE. read more
