Great apartments, excellent food (one meal a day is included in independent living monthly service fee), I have made many good friends, I no longer drive and love the activities on and off campus plus transportation to my medical appointments.

The ambulance people had to wait while they actually made the bed she was admitted to. TWO HOURS later, sick as a dog...not a SINGLE Nurse, CNA or staff member had been to see her. TWO HOURS she sat sick, and alone. We had to physically go confront them at 9:00PM to get staff to her. They took Her a sandwich. They did not change her out of her hospital gown- they did no medical care and did not even administer ANY of her meds that night nor the next morning.. NUMEROUS calls by numerous concerned family we're unanswered, and not one single call back. By the next morning my elderly mother was begging us to get her out of there and we called to let them know we were coming to remove her to please make the necessary arrangements. Once again FOUR hours worth of phone calls were unanswered and not a single call back. We literally had to show up at the place and threaten to call the sheriff. Unfortunately once we were able to get her out of the place we had to contact them to get an order for home health care which is where we brought her and the administrator of the facility told our Home Care Case Manager they C OULD write the order but THEY would NOT. Even after denying her basic medical/human care they refused to assist my mother in getting HOME HEALTH CARE! They said they COULD but they WOULDN'T.

Some of her personal belongings, including clothing and shoes, were misplaced and later had to be reimbursed after several months of follow-up. During one visit, I found her alone in her room in soiled clothing without water available. On another occasion, her meal tray was delivered and placed on a table without assistance, even though she required help eating. In addition to the care concerns, we experienced significant delays and challenges resolving reimbursement for the lost items. We were also billed for prescriptions that our family does not recall authorizing, and we are still working through pharmacy billing questions. Based on our experience, the facility appeared to be understaffed, and communication and follow-through with management were difficult. I encourage families considering this facility to ask detailed questions about staffing levels, care protocols, and billing processes.

I have not been at this hospital since my mother was a patient in 2012 and it was known as…read moreUniversity Community Hospital. I developed the ultimate respect when they took the stance to help my mother with long-term dementia...BCBS wanted her transferred to a county health center known as a dumping ground. They "held her hostage" for a week until Blue Cross approved an appropriate, incredible care program which ultimately placed her in a facility she LOVED and where she thrived for 8 1/2yrs. A lot has changed since then. I was asked by my out-of-state son a few weeks ago to take a phone charger to his father who had been admitted the day earlier into ER. I thought it would be an easy trip, even with my permanent concussion leaving me "weak" in formerly strong mental abilities. I drove in and immediately got lost. I saw tall buildings, a parking garage, winding drives. The ER was no longer a recognizable building with a parking lot. It had its own drive with four valets stationed. I panicked; I didn't know what to do. One of the valets came up to me, I explained my brewing meltdown re where to park. He calmly spoke to me and offered for me to pull a bit down the drive, park there by the door, and he would watch my car while I went inside. ER certainly had grown, was packed, but staff was calming and made sure I had help to where I needed to be. This was not going to be easy as my son's dad is my ex and I know his temperament. He was in his room, glad I had the cord, mad that I didn't have the charger portion which he had not said he needed.... hospitals often have extras of those. He was not pleasant, but the nurses were incredible. As I stepped outside his room, they approached me, one with a hug to calm my nerves. One, later told me her name Dylan M, said she was going to have Rachel H help find the piece he needed. It took a while to find one...I was so glad they did because he was not pleasant with anyone having to go in or out of his room to tend to his needs. Sorry to be so wordy, but I had asked their names and their supervisors' names because I wanted to make sure I wrote this review. The supervisors are Erics Avellan (mgr) and Jordan King (asst mgr). I had Dylan write the four names on a piece of paper for me. CB, my nickname for my "other half" Concussion Brain, must have misplaced the piece of paper when I got home. I couldn't find it anywhere! About 15min ago I opened my Bible and turned to the next set of verses I was to read. Yes, God made sure these angels would get their due review. God, bless these women, the job they do and the staff they work with to help their patients. The heartfelt way is still at this hospital....it may have grown, its name may have changed, but I have the same love and respect for the heart they put into their jobs!

Handling things with no organization. Then she is gone for a week because she is "sick" but reaches out to us and doesn't sound sick at allllll! She doesn't update his release date , doesn't tend to him as a therapist. Over all she seemed unexperienced! Now this morning I get a phone call that they are accusing several patients of having thc in the facility. Drug tests were taken. Thennn patients walk into workers flipping their rooms upside down and going through personal belongings. They also have received harassment since such accusations were made so bad that my fiance no longer felt safe and decided to leave. He's very proud of how far he has come and didn't want to let the ending ruin his intentions for now and the future. Unprofessional money grabbing and disgusting place. Maybe if your employees weren't on their phones so much and actually paid attention to such delicate patients they'd know exactly who had such substance in the facility.

The doctor is well if that's what you want to call him does the bare minimum my family member started to get foot drop and I mentioned it to him he stated he would tell PT no one ever came by to resolve with a boot. A lot of times I would walk in and my family members water was on a table across the room or their clothes smelt bad. If they are nonverbal you will never know what is truly going on. I pushed the nurses button a few times and I would have to wait awhile before I saw anyone come in. Often times they will speak in another language in front of you which is extremely unprofessional but you can tell the staff is dissatisfied working here. I met one amazing CNA and wanted to give her recognition because sure she was great and still yet to hear back how to reach her. My family member left in an ambulance if that tells you anything and unfortunately passed away I wish I took them out of here sooner. Do me favor do your homework and send your loved ones to another facility I still have yet to hear back from Northdale and regret ever picking them to care for my loved one.
