Up front the cost for the inspection was about $730 which we felt was a steal for the peace of mind we received. Our inspection included interior and exterior review, wood insects, water fixtures, heating fixtures, attic, basement, and radon. All reports except radon were delivered just hours after inspection and radon promptly at the 24h mark. We are in the process of purchasing a very old home, Alan arrived much ahead of schedule (on incredibly short notice by the way) and conducted a full exterior inspection before we arrived for our scheduled time, he was friendly, enthusiastic and at every step explained not only what he was looking for, but the current situation and offered suggestions on replacements and repairs we could make along the way. Alan made us aware that he specializes in homes as old as ours was and offered incredible insight on what we can expect, what was normal for the time, improvements, etc. and offered to answer questions past our inspection which was so very thoughtful. We had a million and one places we could pick for a home inspection but Tiger was the first one we picked back in 2019 and have no inclination to change. Their inspectors knows their stuff, everyone from the admin staff to management to field inspectors are wonderful caring people that do a great job because they love their job. By far the worse inspection company. Steve has no sense of integrity or ownership on his lack of…read moredetail. No sense of pride in his work due to his incompetence. He is not a thorough with his inspection. All kinds of things he missed with his inspection. The biggest thing he missed is that the tank that was installed outside is an inside tank. There's a label that clearly states it's an inside tank. Turns out that it is all kinds of violations. His recommendation was to repaint the tank. It took over a month a half to get anyone from his office to call back. I filled a claim with his insurance company and they are equally unprofessional and incompetent. They have a disclaimer that their inspection is only valid for a year. True, if someone else wants to buy the property, it's been "inspected" within a year. They are full of excuses and apologizes. That is used as a cop out excuse and they say some bs how it's my responsibility to ensure things are done correctly. I'm not an inspector so why is it my responsibility to ensure the inspection company does their job. Their insurance company offered me a refund for how much they charged to do their garbage inspection. They then offered me not even 20% of the cost to fix his incompetency. They also say that I have delete or remove all negative reviews so they only show positive reviews. I did not accept such bs offer and let them keep scamming other people. Do not recommend Pilar to post to anyone. Please stay away from them As a result, I need to replace the tank to an outside tank. It has to be moved further away from the door and a concrete slab needs to be put down. No oil company will do the job unless I am a customer. My oil company is charging me $5,800 to fix it. Pilar to post insurance company offered $1,150. Not even half of the cost and they want all negative comments removed. It makes sense that the 5 star reviews are 5, 3 years old. Clearly they are not a consistent 5 star rating. I refuse to be bribed with their low ball offer. As if they're doing me a favor to pay for their incompetence. No thank you.
