Take your business elsewhere. I confirmed on the phone for an inspection for a pair inspection led by J Reilly whom I had read good reviews about. With no notice only a single inspector was sent. There was no pair inspection as promised. Additionally the inspection was not very through and completed in an hour compared to 2+ hours that was promised. Despite my requests some items were not checked. I made efforts to rectify this by contacting the owner J Reilly who was not willing to admit there was anything wrong with the change in personnel and quality of inspection. They also did not provide a walk through prior to closing as promised. Overall I was very unhappy with the quality of the service and the non-customer oriented attitude. read more

Holy cow! This is my first home purchase so I have nothing to compare them to, but from my inexperienced first impressions, they were incredible!!!! My realtor (20 years in the business) was there too and he was so impressed he's going to be using them for an inspection later this week. 3 people showed up (early too and after a call to see if early was ok) and my oh my were they efficient and professional. Someone on the roof, someone outside, another in the basement, then switching to other areas. Not only did they go over the report at the end of the inspection, but they brought areas of the house and concern to my attention as they came to them and explained everything about how they are, how they work, what they should be like, etc. I got an incredibly detailed report printed out and emailed at the end of the inspection. There was no waiting a couple days like other inspectors. The report was broken down into major repairs (over $1000), health and safety issues, maintenance issues, and a couple other categories. They will come out for a final walk through free of charge, the office has recommended companies to fix things they come up in the report, and if someone comes out and starts saying a repair they didn't find exists or will be $$$$ they will come out again. I wouldn't consider using anyone else. Ever. read more

Seemed thorough at the time but was not. A "sampling" of windows were tested and it was never noted they were the original windows, only that they were serviceable. Also floors throughout the house were uneven which was never noted and CT basements just told us we need a new beam and smart jacks or the house will keep sagging. read more

Reilly went above and beyond for our inspection. He was available sooner than I expected. He arrived early and walked me through what he'd do in each section. He patiently explained what he was seeing. He was unbelievably thorough, climbing, crawling, tapping, and investigating anything that didn't at first make sense. He provided a wealth of information about the house that will make it easier for us to transition into living in it. And he was one of the most real service providers I've ever encountered. The person he brought in for Septic stood up to the quality he provided. By the time he was done with us we were confident we knew everything there was to know about the house. (This is unheard of with other inspections I've had done!) He was a formidable ally as we sorted through information the sellers gave us about the house (and as we coordinated with their schedules). We went into contract more confident than we could have hoped for. As if all that wasn't enough, he had our report ready for us unbelievably quickly and in meticulous detail. It was in large part due to him that we were able to close faster than our team even thought possible. We were a little overwhelmed with the process of home inspection so when our realtor recommended Reilly Inspections we went for it. It turned out to be such a good decision! You get a literal team of people. One guy on the roof with the other walking around what they had found on the outside of the property. They use tablets as they go and bring a printer with them so everything is instant. You get the report before they leave! The owner of the company stopped by to go over the report with me. They separate all the major and minor concerns. We're first time homebuyers, so I had a lot of questions and no background knowledge. Jay walked me through everything with the electrical a second time and said I could always call the office if anything else comes up. I'd absolutely recommend this group to friends! read more

Didn't respond to emails either and after the 3rd email and 3 weeks later, finally responded. Overall, terrible job communicating and I would not recommend them for an inspection. read more

We had a great experience with Reilly Inspections. They were extremely informative, thorough, patient, and professional. For our initial inspection, they arrived on time and provided an extremely detailed report right away, which included a very useful summary page which allowed us to more easily communicate with the seller. They were just as prompt and thorough the morning of our closing. J also went above and beyond by quickly responding to an email and phone call from me three weeks after closing when we had thought there was a potential issue with our propane tank (turns out we had just run out of propane). Reilly Group inspected my home and missed many things that have cost me thousands of dollars to repair. Missed items (which I asked them about afterwards) include: light outlets that do not work (they were never checked), steam shower does not work and was not checked, refridgerator leaks water, divertor valve has never worked and was never checked, kitchen sink's spray hose leaks from first day we moved in. Attic a/c housing was eaten by mice and he never went in there. When I called Reilly to complain about all the things he missed, he came over and said everything was checked. Clearly they were not!!! My advice is Do Not Use Reilly Home Inspectors!!! read more

We had our home inspected this March and we used Reilly Inspections on a recommendation from a coworker and thank goodness we did! We tried calling a few other companies and when we told them that per our contract we only had a few days to have the house inspected, they wouldn't even bother with us. I sent an email to Reilly Inspections on a Friday night at 9:00 and they called me back within minutes to help. Mark in the office went above and beyond to work around our schedule and we were able to have our house inspected without even needing to take time off of work to be there. Everyone was so professional and thorough and we actually learned more about the home we were buying in the short period of time we were there with Mr. Reilly and his team than we knew about our own house we had been living in for 5 years! He even came back for the closing inspection to make sure the owner replaced the water softener and fixed the deck stairs as agreed on in our contract. It was a great experience and we will use them for all of our future homes. read more
