I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I was forced to go back for a second biopsy because their tech didn't retrieve a good sample during the first. Of course they billed me for the second which I won't pay. I've been trying to clear this up for months. My biopsies were in Aug. and Oct. of 2024. It's March of 2026. After speaking with them today I was informed they changed billing companies between Aug. and Oct. of 2024 and seems like one is not talking to the other. She had no record of my copay and had to contact the old billing company. It now appears they owe me money. HOWEVER I just received a bill from them today. I've has CT scans and MRI's at Excel and found the professional staff to be outstanding, especialy the lady who very sensitively did the CT scan. The front desk people were efficienct. But the billing office is terrible. Be careful. I don't know how you can protect yourself. Back in August, 2025, I had a test and owed $22.53, which I paid with my credit card. In about January, 2026, I got a call from the biling office requesting payment. I spent about 1/12 hours on a call with the excel biller plus my credit union plus visa. Visa said they would contact Excel later which Excel says Visa did not do. Later, I sent the transaction number to Excel but Excel said their back office could not find it. Excel called me again for the transaction number and I told her I was done with this. But I called my credit union and they researched it to come up with the same transaction number and said it was proof they had paid. There was more wasted time with my credit union. Today, april or 2026, I am mailing the letter the credit card company sent me to Excel along with the bill they sent me again. Here is my take on it. Excel has a problem with young, untrained and unknowlegeable staff who do not know how to check a simple problem. OR they may have a major theft problem. I have invested about five hours of my life trying to accomodate Excel. I am not their employee. Instead of hiring and training people to do the billing, when there is problem, they keep cqlling the customer to solve the problem for them. read more

This place needs negative stars. I needed an MRI and had doctor referrals for it. It's been over 6 months, and I was quoted over $800 without insurance. I got insurance now and made the appointment, and they called to tell me with my insurance paying 90%, I still had a co-pay of over $500. This place is a SCAM. How did an uninsured image go from $800 to $5000 once I had insurance? i couldn't afford $800, and can't afford $500 either and I'd still like to know how with my insurance paying 90%, do I still have a $500 co-pay. Sounds like straight greed. And meanwhile, I still can't get a diagnosis, so as the patient, I still lose. This place and insurance will keep playing games, and I'll end up dying because with or without insurance, the diagnostic tests are unaffordable. read more

The medical techs are great. However, the front desk personnel could use a little training in tact and kindness. I came in to pick up an image disc after a CT. Was told to sign in and wait. Had to wait for 9 people and then they skipped my name. All so they could grab the disc off the counter and give it to me. Spent 25 minutes waiting. The sad part was they were 45 minutes behind schedule the day before as well. Would not recommend as they also made errors filing the insurance. If they can improve the office experience, that would be great. read more

I love the atmosphere of this facility- not hospital like other centers. The staff was great and I was attended to promptly. I also work in the healthcare field and have read through some of these ratings.... if you're not the FIRST appointment of the day- don't expect things to run iron clad. Things happen and you're going to have to wait- this goes for any medical office. They did have an awful billing company which has since been sorted. That being said, I send all my patients to their facility for imaging and they are so helpful with our office and patients. Commenting on people's physical appearance is extremely childish- I feel sorry for what has been posted on this column... but I guess Ignorance is bliss. Went to this discount crap place because my doc sent me there for an ultrasound. "Lady" at front desk with the cheap ass blonde wig that looks awful? Yeah she's worse than the wig. Whatever. Today the office called saying I was overdue on my balance that I already paid. Get it together and spend more time working wig lady and less time fluffing your raccoon hair. $365 is not $266 (insurance co estimate) and when I asked Michelle at Excel about the difference, she said that is what the insurance company wanted them to charge as I had not met my deductible. Wrong. I called my insurance and Sharon told me that it is up to the business to charge whatever when you have not met your deductible. IT PAYS TO CHECK PRICES FOLKS. I saved $99 OUT OF POCKET by calling around (from Ins co website estimator). Do your research. MRI of Palm Harbor charged EXACTLY what was on the insurance co website and the folks there, Amy, Kristy and Gordon my MRI tech were great people to work with, from finding me an emergency open appointment time to a bruise free injection of dye. It really shows when people are enjoying what they do and like the company they work for. read more

I have been using excel for almos 15 years and the last few years I continued to have issues. I have been told by one person they dont do a certain test with my ins company and then manager says yes they do. I have left several maessages for the office manager to call me back as she promised last time I was there she would fix things. They try billing me for things my insurance cover and told by my insurance company they can't bill me for that. The front desk staff is rude and talks down to people. My friend needed someone to go with her for her mammogram. The nurse that took my friend back was pleasant and polite. The types of work they perform here Mammograms, MRIs, CT, ultrasounds, X-Ray, bone scan. Apparently one of the two doctors that work here (Dr. Das) will be doing Botox. The front desk folks were nice and informative. Clean, fairly quiet area. Coffee and tea looks to be offered. Monday-Friday hours 8-5:30 they are open for MRI on Saturday during the busy. Waited more than 16 days to receive the appointment. The staff that greeted Me were very unfriendly. They noted that I didn't have a mask and refused service. At no time was I informed that I needed a mask to receive services. We drove around for two hours looking for a mask, there where none available. When I contacted the office to clarify the requirement, the young lady was nice and apologetic. and said that was the decision of the doctor in charge. When I asked what to do since we cant purchase a mask. She said we could wear a scarf. So instead I am going to prefer, do business elsewhere where they actually communicate with the patient, instead of treating us like livestock. She got the request for the imaging wrong...I had to tell her 3 times what the script said. She told me the date and time which did not work well but she said that is all she had. PROS: beautiful, clean facility with plenty of room to spread out, TV for entertainment, restrooms close by. Good parking, easy to access and exit. Handicapped friendly. Techs are very professional and courteous. Kindest I've had so far in comparison to other facilities. CONS: will not send your procedure results to your doctor despite calling and being told they were faxing it right away. Also, I had completed release forms for my doctor to get these results a week before my appointment. I had to leave my doctor's office during my appointment-which was over 5 miles away- and drive over to them and ask them face to face for copies to take back to my doctor. I expected much better from Excel. SO, if you MUST go here, be sure to get your own copies of all your tests/records and take them with you to your doctor to avoid all the gas wasting I experienced today. I have been here numerous times. I still dont understand why it takes so long to check in. I arrived at 9:30 am for a 9:40 appointment they did not check me in till 10:20 am. The 2 ladies at the front desk seemed to move in slow motion. The one that checked me in was rude to patients checking in. Now I am in another waiting room to get CT. I went for a doctor ordered ultrasound to verify bladder stones at the office in New Port Richey, FL. The VA accidentally discovered I had bladder stones during a prostate check via ultrasound. Then off to a VA CT scan which verified 2 very large stones which require surgical removal. After the fact my Medicare primary also sent me to excel for a verification, and they found absolutely nothing. How can you trust this facility? Basic stuff here that you have to trust with your life. read more

I took my husband to Bay Regional URGENT Care; who then directed us to Excel Medical Imaging. EMI told Urgent Care that they would see us right away since he was in need of a CT Scan for SEVERE abdominal pain. 1) We are STILL here 2.5 hours later 2) There is multiple miscommunication between the front and back office 3) If you are going to accept an URGENT CARE PATIENT, obviously it needs to be urgent and as smooth as possible. Instead it has been nothing but unorganized, stressful, and waiting around as the pain continues to INCREASE. There should be absolutely no reason for a patient to have to get up and down several times to ask what is going on, how much time is left, when will I get my results, etc. This is absolutely ridiculous, unprofessional, and unorganized. read more

Today I called and was informed that xrays were done via walk in until 5:30. I left work early to make it by 4:45. When I got there I followed directions to sign in and take a seat. I noticed that the front desk personnel took care of two people who did not sign in and sit. One of which was there to have an X-ray. He seemed to know the staff. I heard the front desk personnel say that she wanted to hurry and sign him in because they were going to be working on the machine. I waited 30 minutes total to be checked in and then was told that she needed to check because they were working on the machines. Needless to say I was not able to get my X-ray. Most of the staff is pleasant it's true at times the wait is a bit too long it would be nice if they can tell you that when you signed in . The hard part when getting ultrasound , MRI, Etc is getting the Hard copy sent to the physician. What a run around Recently I called they told me it was sent , the physician said it was not Received , I called again now they tell me it takes 72 hrs I told that person I was told it was sent yesterday , then this same person oh yes it was sent however the doctors office never received it. I was a last minute person, who has no insurance and needed an MRI to see if my arm was broken. An admin helped me out, the front desk squeezed me in and the tech people in the back dong the MRI are amazing!!! I will be writing a letter to the Supervisor of this place in the morning. I went there for an ultrasound for a large ovarian cyst and drank 40 ounces of water prior. The technician was pressing extremely hard on my ovaries and very rough with the wand. She kept on pressing firmly and I told her it hurts. She ignored me until I said it again. Her name was Lisa. Beware she lacks compassion and gets off on hurting and inducing pain on people. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone!!!!!!!! read more

I have stage four lung cancer and have had to go to excel imagining four different times. The actual working staff are very good but setting up appointments is an altogether different animal. They treat you very unprofessionally and expect you to bring a script to every visit. I was just in there this last Wednesday and today I went to my oncologist to find out the results and excel had misplaced them. I believe this is my insistence they move up to the 21st century and embrace the fax machine. I just hope I live long enough to see my results read more

I was a bit hesitant going in due to all the bad reviews but I must say that overall I had a good experience. I was 10min late to my appointment due to traffic. They were very nice and very professional. I was called back after only about 10min waiting and the tech doing the MRI was great. My only complaint was that I was suppose to receive a call befor my appointment to verify that my insurance covered the MRI and they never called. I had to call them the morning of my appointment. The staff is polite and friendly. They are a bit slow however. Even with an appointment it takes awhile to get checked in. Once after a needle CT scan they left me alone in a cold, dark room, on a high stretcher and told me not to move for an hour. I didn't have my phone with me, no one to even talk to, and I had no idea of the time. I finally got the attention of someone passing through the area to find out what was going on. When I left, the paperwork wasn't ready and my driver had to leave. I was told I could come back for it. When I drove myself back, I found out I wasn't supposed to be driving. read more
