I got a basic gel manicure and the artist didn't fully set the gel on my thumbs so it was wrinkly and eventually ripped off. I went to get this issue corrected and within two days I had the same problem. I went back in to get a refund to which I was told they don't offer. I've been going to Excel Nails for years, and have hands-down found it to be the best nail salon in Kamloops! The salon is clean, the service is extremely friendly, and the nails are exceptional! The girls always do my nails perfectly how I like them, and they last better than any other salon I've been to. They have a really good variety of colors as well, which is a huge bonus. Highly suggest booking an appointment as they can get quite busy, especially in the summertime! read more

Booked an appointment told them exactly what I needed done. Also booked for another person. Got to the salon asked me 3 times what I wanted. Sat down to get it done. And soaked my old set off 35 min, and 29$ later. Mentioned that these were my nails for my engagement (hoping he'd take time with my nails and make sure they were perfect) Didn't have very many colours. Showed him a picture of what I wanted. Not what I got. Had to get basic white nails and they were shorter than I wanted. Didn't ask or offer any design. Was just rushing to finish my nails. No conversation the whole time. Table was dirty. Didn't clean off my hands as he worked. Just when it was finished. Had to ask him to re shape a bunch of times and fix things. Got them done before I left there were bubbles in my nails they made me seem ridiculous so I only asked them to fix the bubbles on my ring finger... . The very next day one was broken. My ring finger wasn't done properly. 3 days later 3 nails broken. Ring finger literally split in half. I get my nails done religiously and very long I've and I've never had these issues. Nails paints already chipping and peeling. Worst part is this shit cost me a 109 plus dollars and they haven't even lasted a week. Only reason I got them done here was because I was passing through for a funeral. And my engagement was a day later. WORST MISTAKE. I JUST WASTED MY MONEY read more

Mani-pedi and shellac nail polish peeled off within 24 hours. Would not recomment service.

i went twice. first time just toenail trim. I said, "not too short". She cut them to the skin. Today I went for both. I said, "just trim two big toes" (as others just started to get a little nails.) She didn't listen at all cut all toenails. I said, "just a little trim on fingers nails". She cut them below my skin no finger nails left. I'm very disappointed as going on a trip in three days. i won't ever go back there. luckily another place I can try 5 blocks away. THEY DONT LISTEN!!! read more

Would give no stars- Just tried to book 2 full sets as a treat for 2 girlfriends. Apparently Excel has blacklisted me and will not book any appointments made by me. The ONLY time I used this salon was in Spring 2018, once. Two or three of the nails came off within three days. When I went back, @ExcelNails said that was my issue and wouldn't repair them. I have never had such poor service in 20 years of getting my nails done. They claim I came back 2 1/2 weeks later with my broken nails and one of them to fix them for free. I have a regular nail tech and have for years. I tip her well and would never expect nails to be fixed after one week because that would be normal wear and tear. I have tried many nail salons in Kamloops. Excel Nails is by far, the absolute best! All techs are good; but my favs are Annie & Vanessa!

I had been quoted $44 for a gel manicure, $22 for a regular manicure. I had made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. That was supposed to cost $65. When I change to a gel manicure oh, I was up charged $26 to take my polish off. Then they wanted to add $44 to that for the manicure that included gel polish. And on top of that I still had to pay $44 for a pedicure. When I asked why she was putting polish on before she'd even done my cuticles or anything is when it was explained about all the extra charges. Needless to say I walked out. Plus their instruments were not clean, they were taking them out of drawers and not out of a sterilized kit. This place is overcharging and sanitization does not seem to be much of a priority. I can just say that all's I got out of the deal was my nails filed and my polish off and my hands look like crap. read more

If you're looking for quality and expertise, you won't find it here. I gave excel nails a go a few months ago, and left with absolutely awful nails. Staff was nice but I would have preferred someone who spent a little more time than 40 minutes to slap big chunky white tips on my nails and get glue everywhere. I thought I would play it safe and get a basic French nails, but I ended up with a bit of a mess. Do not recommend. read more

I had my nails done for 3 sets and the 3rd fill it fell off within a week because everytime the sides started to lift they would just glue them down instead of shaving it down and applying more gel. Never going back. I called and they told me it was because of the hand sanitizer yet it's never happened to me all the other times. read more

I have been in this salon few times, but my last visit was the last one. I went there with shellac on my finger nails. Under the shellac nail polish i have some rests of gel nails that were already smooth by a precious manicure i got done i Vancouver. I ask them not to remove the rests of the Gel nails, but they decided that they need to remove it to do a better job so i agree. 1) They didnt ask me if i was fine with the extra removal charging of 15 dollars 2) They charge me for a full removal of the gel nails but they didnt remove all of them only three nails in each hand. 3) the shellac nail polish they did on the top lasted less than 10 days in a decent shape. After a week i could see how the shellac started to look old and dirty and some chiping was obvious. Total charge for this service 50 cad. I am not coming back to this place. read more

Every time I leave excel my stomach hurts from laughing so much! Not impressed!! Went in for set of nails for Christmas party!! The guy was very distracted don't do the normal prep on nails! As well less then a week later they were Chipping and pealing off!! NEVER has that happened before will not be going back! read more
