Know who you are doing business with! Roland and Mylena (owners) are not the people I thought they were. I have worked with Excell for over 10 years. I have rental property and have rehabbed approx 15-20 homes where they have installed the granite. They were my go to company. We never did contracts or estimates, I called them, we discussed the price, they did the work. I considered them friends and we had a great working relationship. NOT ANY MORE! We took 2.5 feet of water in our personal home from Hurricane Helene. Same agreement as before... we went to Excell , picked a slab before agreeing on a price, no signed contract, and we gave them a deposit. I don't ever do business without a contract, but with Roland and Mylena we had a 10 year relationship, I trusted them. What we didn't know at the time was that our contractor that was putting our home back together wanted us to use his granite company. I went to Mylena, explained to her what happened and asked for the deposit back. She said yes and that they would mail me a check. When I received the check they held back a large portion (about 50%) of the deposit. After many attempts I finally reached Roland and explained to him our situation ( no contract, a handshake relationship for over 10 years, obligation to contractor to use his granite company) he eventually sent me another check but still held back $1000 of a $4,000 deposit. I pleaded my case again with Roland, our 10 year relationship, loyalty to Excell, damage to our home and personal cost of home repairs, no contract type of relationship... Instead of talking through it and explaining his side, he hung up on me twice. So here we are. They will not talk with me and my only recourse is to share my experience here. When people show you who they are you should believe them. They have a large showroom, nice products, fair prices, solid installers... They are good business people. My issue is their character. Should I have signed a contract ? YES! Should we have talked about process, cancellations, warranty...? YES! I will never make the same mistake again. They have shown me their true colors. Loyalty , 10 years of business, many referrals. personal relationships, and our personal friendship, our out of pocket cost to put our home back together mean absolutely nothing to them. I can't say enough good things about this business. Mylena is exceptional in her professionalism, attention to detail and design recommendations. The quality and quantity of the stone they gave at their shop is so much better than any other stone places around, yet they have given me reasonable pricing for the maximum value. Their install crew are absolutely amazing. The seams were great ...They even - without asking- take off their shoes when they come into your house so that that they keep your home clean. The installers did a great job on my new kitchen counter, BUT.......they lost my newer (2 years old) kitchen sink, so they offered me one of the ones they had in stock. I agreed to one (since install was next day and they had to custom cut around a sink) with the stipulation that they provide a new grid for the large sink. The one they showed did not match (fit or design). They agreed (I have the texts). I have tried numerous times via voicemail (the company line constantly goes to voicemail) and text. They are not returning either. I gave them until last night to resolve (either get the grid for me or refund me the costs that I will incur to buy new matching grids). No response. Feeling very frustrated. Oct 16th update: Mylena called and stated she was unaware of promise of correct grid. She is working on getting the grid. Nov 11th update: New grid delivered If they did not misplace my sink, I would have given them a 5, but am happy with final product. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! Let me start by saying Exccell Marble took advantage of Senior Citizens. We purchased our kitchen countertop and the female owner insisted on a "guestimate" so our realtor measured it while we were at the store. We were quoted a price on the "guestimate" and were assured that price would be locked in upon full payment, even if the measurements were not exact. She said most people "zelle" her the money to avoid the credit card fee, so we zelled her half that day and the other half 2 days later. About 2 weeks later, their worker did the template and the measurements were approximately 5 square feet more than our guestimate. We were sent an email that the job would cost us $500.00 more than agreed upon. Based on the total lack of customer service - her assistant texted and never returned calls, and good luck reaching the owner - as well as being verbally promised a set price, we lost all trust in this company and backed out of the deal. We requested our money back, less the expense for the template (which other places charge $150.00). The owner referenced the Cancellation policy in the contract and retained 20% of our money. Shame on us for paying in full before any work was done, but that lady is a great salesperson and we trusted her implicitly. Not sure we have a leg to stand on because we signed the Contract, but she outright took advantage of two Elderly people and that is totally unacceptable. read more

We have used Excell three times now. Once for my home, and twice for my brothers condos. They have a beautiful selection of anything you need... every color, style, and it's all gorgeous. The hard decision is what to choose. The easy part is working with them after you've selected your stone. They measure your area, then trace out the form from your slabs, and install everything. Each of the three times, it's been perfect work, very responsive, and we highly recommend. Here are a few pictures of what they have done for us. Advice for Excell, never judge a book by its cover. A bunch of arrogant snobs run this place. I came in with a punch list of work I needed done on my home including replacing all the stone in my kitchen, main bathroom and 3,200 Sq ft of flooring. I initially needed to get a small backsplash done for one of my bathrooms. The receptionist was very nice and tried her best to help me. Ready to place the order, she went to introduce me to Mylena. Mylena looked me straight in the eye, no smile, no hello and said 'we're going into a meeting' and walked right past me. Fair enough, I didn't have an appt. The receptionist told me to text and email her photos, which I did. Never heard from anyone there. So unless you're going in there with a $$$$ sign on your forehead, don't waste your time. They don't care. There's tons of other places that realize one thing leads to another. read more

Sorry I feel compelled to warn others about how much Excell Marble and Granite has changed. We returned to them after doing our kitchen renovation- thought they were good. Bought a marble remnant piece for our main bathroom renovation. We left a $500 deposit. When it came time to have it measured we were told that piece was not there still and that we bought "the material" not the piece. This is the verbatim explanation given to us; however when we purchased our kitchen granite piece several months earlier Excell took our deposit then they wrote down our name and put it on the slab sold; they didnt do this with our marble vanity piece. We didnt want to lose our deposit so we worked with them to find something close to what we wanted. The piece we chose was then installed with many chips; and a sealant that was slapped on and looked like bad paint strokes.- after the install I immediately contacted them and the owners wife --Mylena - she gave me the brush off. Not a single word of sorry/ lets fix this instead I got " I dont have my calendar here and next week we have a meeting and then Excell can figure out when someone can come later the following week to look at it" After that I called AMEX (Pay their cc fee 3% and get some insurance for these large purchases; glad I did). AMEX immediately started an investigation; halted their payments and what a miracle I got a call next day from Excell that someone can come to repair it in a day! They did; it was acceptable. I called AMEX back to close the disputed charges for the one piece. AMEX said it would take up to 14 business days for the credits to reverse. I shared this with Excell; perhaps there was some confusion between AMEX crediting back to me the consumer vs. crediting back to Excell the vendor. All I know is that Excell called me; they used their office assistant to make the call. I returned the call thinking it was Excell to tell me they finally got the credits/payments -- instead the assistant put on the owner Roland who immediately in a threatening voice said he was having his lawyer put a lien on my house for non payment that day. I said how I was clearly working with AMEX to get this resolved for them to get their payments-- I wasn't going to give my cc again or pay twice for this marble. Roland doesn't listen; he hears what he wants to hear; he slammed the phone down on me. Luckily this was on speaker phone and my partner heard it all. They say they are moving to another facility; they say they are looking for larger more "up end/market" clients. Bottom line you dont treat ANY customer this way who has clearly shown he was trying to make the payments and the problem existed because the quality of their work is so poor now. They might own a quarry in Brazil with lovely stones; but what good is it if you have to go through hell to get it; pay for it; have them treat you like a criminal when you were going above and beyond to get their monies back to them caused by their own poor quality workmanship. In the end I simply gave them my AMEX again after calling AMEX that I would NOT have to be pay twice; I would keep the credits issued -- perhaps AMEX knows something I dont about Excell since they closed the dispute in my favor very quickly????? Bottom line it was a horrible experience with them. I have to add-- the bathroom vanity itself that the marble went on. We had ordered it; first one came with a slight wood chip which I thought would only need a repair person to fix. Instead the company left me with it and brought a whole new one. I showed the assistant at Excell the picture of the vanity and the slight wood defect. She said the owners wife liked it and didnt mind how it was and that she could use it for her own bathroom renovation at home. I was glad this piece got a second chance to not be in a landfill. She sent her guys over who picked it up a few weeks before all this happened with our marble vanity top...Never got a call from her or them to say thanks we got it; etc.....so perhaps Karma was sending me early warning signs of who we were doing business with- Also when my partner and I went back to their store when we found out that the piece we originally selected was not available we both saw clearly that piece in the remnants section. It was broken- but it was also drilled out for someone else's bathroom sink. So this was another karma moment of the type of business people they are. I am sure and hopeful there are legitimate good granite and marble companies here in St. Pete. Just we haven't found one yet. read more

After 2 weeks it looks like it is 10 years old. Had the worst possible experience and would not recommend to work with this company. Not only could they not honor the trine frame to complete a very small job I had to constantly chase them down after paying for my job in full up front. I was told a week to 1.5 weeks. 3.5 weeks later I was still chasing them down. I was told oh sorry someone should have called you. I had spoke with them twice and left 3 messages and yet I literally had to call and tell them I was heading back down there for a 3rd time and needed the finished product. First mistake. 2nd mistake the quality was terrible. They did not cut my pieces from the stone I paid for and then tried to pass off the job as done. When I questioned them on this they said they could show me that my cuts did come from the stone I purchased but then had to recant. They showed me a small remnant which if the piece shown was what I would have received there would not have been any complaints. All they did was prove my case and point. So now I have 3 pieces of stone that do not match or even blend. They are useless and the pieces don't even fit. The company was given a template and couldn't even match the measurements. They cut the pieces wrong as they are larger get than the template provided and too thick. I asked to speak to management on 3 different occasions and no one would return my call or meet with me. Thank goodness it was only a small job. They lost my business to handle a full kitchen remodel and do far after showing 2 more potential customers what this company provided to me they lost those jobs as well. BEWARE!! Don't put any deposit unless you are absolutely positive that you are buying from them, otherwise they will keep a big chunk of your money. Melania made me believe that if I changed my mind they would keep only 10% of my deposit... Well, guess what? It was 10% of what she assumed would be my entire order!! She certainly taught me a good lesson! No matter how nice they talk to you, you always should read the ENTIRE CONTRACT before signing and don't believe what they want you to understand at that moment. I was deceived. Just liking a piece of marble cost me more than $400 They didn't do any drawings, no templates, nothing!! That was a rip off!!! I would give less than a star if I could. read more

The on site choices are huge, but if there is specific granite you are looking for they have the resources to get it quickly. We recently relocated to St Petersburg and remodeled our kitchen and a couple of bathrooms. We had discovered the "Wholesale" tile place on 22nd St N and had major issues with orders being placed incorrectly and not receiving the materials that were required to finish our job. We had ordered our kitchen backsplash tile from Larry at Excel and had a wonderful experience, so we reached out to him in an emergency when the "Wholesale" place did not come through with our order. I am sorry to say that we have had a terrible experience with Excell Marble and Granite. We selected a stone for our bathroom counter tops and paid a deposit. We were given a date for installation and scheduled our other subcontractors around that date. A couple of days before the scheduled date, Excell called and told us installation would be 2 weeks out. We complained and after several calls to Mylena, they moved the date to one week out. Excell sent installers out to measure and create templates and returned several days later to install. When we saw the installation, we were shocked. The sink openings were cut unevenly; the corners on each counter were different from each other; the sink hole on one counter was cut in the wrong place; the sink hole for a different sink was also cut in the wrong place. It was unacceptable. We immediately contacted Excell and said that we had concerns and we needed a supervisor/owner to inspect the job. Due to family issues, they couldn't come until the following week. That week came and went, into the 2nd week, we continued to call them. Finally, the owner, Roland, came out to inspect. Two weeks after the installation date. He agreed that the cutting and installation were unacceptable. One counter needed to be replaced. He said we would hear from them the next day. That was several days ago. We have called and left messages as well as emails. No response. We're seriously considering going to a different company and forfeiting our deposit. We are so disappointed. read more

Unprofessional. Spent 4 weeks waiting for our cabinets and counter. They called the day before our appointment and rescheduled for 2 days later. Then we had to wait until 7pm for them to finish. Not to mention that they scratched our cabinets and the granite looks like it may have been cracked and then patched. some companies store their products out side but not excell granite everything is inside. we live about 49.4 miles from them but we always ended up at their warehouse on 5th ave in St Petersburg Fl. they gave us a good price. we went there so many times because the grani ite my wife wanted to think about was always gone when she returned (others liked the same granite she did). the last time we went there she chose a slab of granite we both came to love they came out to measure and in weeks installed it.we have a medium kitchen about 49 feet we have a wrap around stile kitchen. I could not get over there was only one seam that was invisible and could only be found if you knew where it was.Marilo measured was the guy who came out to and on delivery day helped 2 other guys carry the granite in. Marilo did all of the fitting.excell granite even supplied the sink.the plummer said he rarely saw sinks installed with mounting clips as he saw then.we are very happy we bought from them.
