Daniel's has been in business for 20+ year's and for his small storefront, outward looks can be and are a little deceptive. However the inventory that is not on the floor is in the basement, and 2nd floor which Daniel knows cold and can show you in moments. Daniel has furnished a few of our houses with his carpets, with so many options and such easy availability I just can not ever see going anywhere else. We always received excellent installations and price, I think 1st and 2nd floors complete wall to wall ran less than $4,000. Last week I needed a 8x11 area rug for the basement and did not want to spend a lot of money on. Pulling carpets from all levels, Daniel explained the quality of the better rugs, heat set, satin resistance and I was not buying a Turkoman. Offering linoleum, wood flooring product's like hard wood and laminates, blinds, tile and more Daniels is a great place to go for your home's interior needs. We had VJ and his team over to redo our floors in our home. I had full carpeting upstairs…read more(4bedrooms, closets, hallway and stairs) my downstairs had wood floors but they were cherry red and I hated them so I had them refinished and stained to a lighter color. VJ came to my home the first time and took measurements and next day he reached out and gave me a quote it was very reasonable and I agreed to move forward and we schedule for end of March, with a week to a week in half of work. First day they were on time and came ready to work. I was home with 2 dogs and they made the situation as comfortable as possible. in the evening they all cleaned up and left. Next day same thing on time and did some great work and cleaned up again. We were living with our dogs and kids under construction the cleaning up was very much appreciated. Originally he was not going to do my stairs (I was going to DIY it but thought he should do it) I was so grateful they did my stairs! They came out perfect! I am so happy with the work they put in. He did the molding and shoes all around the house for us. There were a few hiccups with my home (wasn't leveled) VJ gave me straight up view and told me he could do just do the work as is or I can level it for you and he explained everything. I liked that him and the team took pride in their work and I trusted his input and glad I listened. I highly recommend hiring him they did a phenomenal job! My home looks great!

My original plan was to just sand and refinish the floors and stairs. Both stairs and floors were under carpet for decades. The floors were still in decent condition, but the stairs were too damaged.....full of staples and nails. I was hoping the stairs could be saved, but Vijay told it to me straight. They're not salvageable. He knew I was on a budget, so what Vijay did for me was just replace the top part of the stairs (treads) and put a matching piece of wood overlay on the bottom (riser). But it looked like I installed a whole new staircase. Vijay is passionate about his trade and it shows in his work. You can tell he has a lot of experience and loves what he does. He's a true craftsman.

We vacated our apartment and Robert and David moved our furniture and finished the job in four hours! They used a fast-drying low VOC poly that dried in an hour and it looks great. This company not only did NOT successfully do the work that they were hired for, they LIED to me…read more Yamin of Imperial Contracting of NYC Corp** had urgently asked me to write my review of his company for Angie's List before the job was totally completed because he claimed that there was a deadline imposed by Angie's List that was going to pass within two hours if I didn't write the review. Since almost all the work had been done and it all seemed fine, I agreed to write the review. However, a few months pased before I understood that Yamin and his company had not, in fact, done the work that they were contracted to do, namely properly waterproofing my porch. Yamin had verbally guaranteed the work for FIVE YEARS (see contract photo). In fact, within SIX MONTHS my porch started leaking again. I even have a few videos of the porch leaking. Here is one of the, the one I sent to Yamin for review (see below): www (dot) youtube (dot) com (slash) watch?v=9zK1rIWEy0U&feature=youtu.be I contacted Yamin about it by phone in January. He requested that I send along a video of the leak, which I did. After that, he did not contact me regarding it. I reached out to him by texts and e-mails, but he has never gotten back to me. I asked a rep at Angie's List about this supposed deadline, and here is the response from the Angie's Lit rep: "We do not have a deadline for the submission of review... Normally a review will be posted within 1-5 business days upon submission." Thus, I could have posted my review anytime, and it would have posted. So, I lost thousands of dollars by hiring Imperial Contracting, and I might have to go to Small Claims Court to get back my money if my case is not resolved through Angie's List Complaint Resolution Process. Save yourself time and trouble by using an honest contractor, not this company, who not only didn't do the job they were hired and paid for, but who does not honor their warranty, and whose rep (owner?) also lied about the Angie's List ratings policy time frame. **Suspicious: The title on Angie's List is "Imperial Contracting of NYC Corp, and the address is listed as Lincoln Avenue in Brooklyn. However, if you click on the business card, the name is also listed as Imperial Contracting of NY Corp and Imperial Construction, with an address in Ozone Park. I was told by a friend who has worked with contractors that this is how construction companies skirt bad reviews and problems.

We own a two bed room co-op on Ocean Parkway. The building is well over 70 years old and our…read moreapartment walls were in horrible shape. Al (owner and worker) scraped the walls and plastered the entire place except for the bathroom and kitchen which were in good shape. He painted the entire apartment. He gutted and installed a new shower stall and re did the internet cable so it looked great. He did other stuff as well but those were the major pieces. My wife and I live 250 miles away in Washington DC so hiring a contractor for our project in Brooklyn was intimidating as many of the quotes we got were from contractors who were hostile or hard to work with. When we found Al we knew we hit gold. He did an amazing job on every front. And when he made a mistake, he took care of it at his cost. This only happened a couple of times when his guy broke the shower handle and they took off the picture hook molding by mistake. All gave us regular updates and moved the project along quickly. I can't say enough good about his attention to detail and his desire to look out for our well being. I am sad that he works so far from our home as I would hire him in a heart beat to do all the work we need on our 100 year old house. Often he would suggest better ways to get something done. Such as the plastering. They gave several coats of plaster and used a mesh so that these walls would last another 30 years if not more. He redid the shower stall when it did not look exactly perfect. He got the job done on time and within budget and with renovation there are always surprises. He just took care of them and was so friendly and communicative. He rocks! He lives his word and is totally trustworthy. I told Al my wife and I would give him references if he ever wanted them from us. When we first started to talk to him he gave me four folks to call and all had great things to say about him. He is not the cheapest and he is not the most expensive, he charges a fair price that made me feel great about paying him. Your friends may tell you to pay less or that it should not take so long. And I can tell you from experience the end result is the only metric for success in a project where you are taking apart a 70-80 year old apartment and bringing it up to speed. For example when they dug out the old shower he found leaky pipes. He could have ignored it and just did what we paid him for, but for another 600 dollars (which our building will pay for) he made sure it was fixed and saved us thousands of dollars down the road when another contractor/plumber would have to dig it all up and do it again. He always consulted with our super to make sure everything was done to the buildings specification. Al was at the job site doing the work most of the time. He is a skilled worker and not just a manager.
