You can hear people walking by and talking loudly all day, which disrupts the relaxing atmosphere. On our last morning, when the Preferred Club breakfast switched to buffet-only and the standard egg station was not safe, the staff noticed my distress, found a chef, thoroughly cleaned a fresh pan, and made me a safe meal. My favorite dinner spots were the French and Mexican restaurants. Outstanding Staff and Service: The staff and servers at this resort are truly exceptional, and I will miss them tremendously. They were attentive, warm, and took the time to genuinely get to know us and my dietary needs. We made a point to tip our servers throughout the stay and tipped our personal concierge via PayPal, who was always available via text to answer questions or arrange accommodations. The restaurant team consistently double-checked with chefs to prevent cross-contamination, even warning us about sharing desserts when my husband ordered a non-gluten-free item. Special recognition goes to the lunch chef who personally came out to discuss my allergy, crafted an incredible gluten-free veggie burger with a dedicated bun, and remembered me the following day to make it safely again. Spa and Special Celebrations: We celebrated both our anniversary and my husband's 40th birthday during this trip. The staff made it extra special by decorating our room with champagne, balloons, and rose petals, placing celebratory signs on our door, singing to my husband at the Preferred Club lunch, and delivering a birthday cake to our room. We also enjoyed a fantastic spa day using our check-in coupons and a gift card, charging the remaining balance to our room. The spa facility offers a sauna, pool, locker rooms with robes, snacks, and flavored water, capped off by a wonderfully relaxing 80-minute massage. Off-Site Activities and Local Area: Beyond the resort, we booked a memorable ocean excursion through the website that included snorkeling with stingrays and nurse sharks, a relaxing massage, and onboard snacks and drinks. Both resorts are connected so you have full access to both (except preferred areas). Get ready to do some walking and get lost while you learn how to get around. By the way, for the restaurants, they should have bigger signs to make our lives easier when trying to find them. Food at the specialty restaurants is one of the best food I've ever had in an all inclusive. I recommend: - Bluewater steakhouse at Dreams: Skirt steak, short rib, Rib eye. - Coquette at Breathless: Beef tenderloin - Capers (Italian) at Dreams: Lasagna, Funghi risotto, chicken parmigiana. If you go around 7pm get ready for an average wait time of 45 min to an hour. They give you a buzzer and you can wait at the bar area having some drinks. If you go prior to 6:30pm you may be able to get seated right away. Buffet for breakfast at both Dreams and Breathless were good but we preferred the one at Dreams. It was an open air tropical vibe kind of restaurant. Lunch buffet could be much much better. Lots of variety but most things didn't taste good and we're not pick eaters. Taco truck is good but nothing really special about it so I don't get all the hype. Pork taco was better than chicken. Most of the times I had lunch at the burger grill by the beach. Their fries were 100 times better than the buffet fries. (No, the lunch buffet couldn't even get their fries right). The burger grill at breathless is better since they cook their burgers while you're waiting so you'll get them fresh. Main pool at Breathless had a good vibe, friendly people, good music, but, unfortunately, a lot of times they use YouTube with commercials when the entertainment team is not around which is ridiculous and amateur, but other days they had a playlist with no ads. The party pool at Breathless was a joke, even during the afternoon parties. Very boring. This was my main disappointment since I've been to Breathless Riviera Maia and it was much more fun. But since I was happy with the vibe at the non-party pool I didn't care about it. Lazy river at Dreams is also good, perfect for those hot days since there are multiple water falls. No need to bring your own floats, we always found available ones. Evening entertainment is a hit or miss. Silent disco was fun and so was the club afterwards. Unfortunately, it rained, so the white party was moved inside. The space was too small for the crowd and the music was good at first but the it became too repetitive. Not my type of thing. I didn't even go to the Dominican show the next day. Staff was very friendly. I still think the staff in Cancun in general is friendlier than in DR but the staff at Dreams and Breathless did not disappoint. You will come across a few people who seem to dislike their job but 90% of them are friendly. Most of the guests were couples in the 30 to 50 age range (including us) and we met some nice people. I do not consider this a party resort. It you want a relaxing vibe with good food, good drinks, comfortable room, friendly staff, both Dreams (with kids) and Breathless (no kids) may be a good choice for you. If you want a party resort "Cancun spring break style", a bachelorette party hotel for a group of 23 year old girls, a party resort for a group of single guys in their 20s, I would not recommend this resort unless you come in a large group and can do your own partying. For my next trip I might look for a resort that offers foam parties and more live music because these are things we enjoy and Breathless didn't offer during our stay. I understand they have a rock show but that's once a week. My last trip was to Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun and while I really enjoyed Breathless I had more fun at Riu.

I've never seen such hospitality before, it was amazing. Our host "Will" was a pleasure to deal with. Very professional, gave you his whatsapp information so if you had any questions, he would accommodate us. Even went out of his way to get us some exotic fruits that we wanted that were not served. Great guy, give that man a raise! The entertainment was great also, especially the burlesque aerial show. What an amazing set! If they have that their again, I highly recommend it. Their shows are at 9pm every night so keep an eye out for them. There are some negatives which is why I am giving this four and not five stars. The food was subpar. All the pastries in every bar, restaurant, Cafe were all the same so not a lot of diversity. Most foods were bland besides some places like the Hibatchi Grill which was amazing (highly recommended) and the asian themed buffet which isn't all the time so it's not nightly. My biggest complaint though was on the 19th of May 2026 at 6pm when the buffet opened. I'm saying the exact date and time so the resort will know who was working the buffet entrance. Now the dress code was casual elegance "sneakers/tennis shoes or dress sandals, dress shirts with short sleeves or collards shirts. No sleeveless shirts or flip flops. Long pants required for men". (See attached image) Me and my family came when it opened at around 6pm(ish) and I had a sleeveless shirt (because it's hot and humid) and was told that I need to go change bc its against the dress code. To be fair, I didn't know there was a dress code bc its a buffet, not a fine dining type of place and I had to run through the pouring rain to get changed. I came back and sat down, pretty irritated but rules are rules... or they're supposed to be. Imagine my surprise when I see women wearing nothing but bikinis, tank tops and tube tops. almost ALL men not wearing pants but shorts. None of them followed the casual elegance rule as I stated earlier but somehow my sleeveless shirt (that wasnt a tank top and showed no chest, just sleeveless) offended her that I was the only one to be made to run back through the pouring rain to change??? How am I supposed to take that but as a personal insult to me when no one else had to follow the rules but me? And she was RUDE as shit when she told me this that even my family felt like she was being disrespectful. As I said, the staff was amazing except for this miserable woman that worked at the front counter of the buffet on May 19th, at 6pm. She needs to follow the rules equally for everyone or she's just picking on people and having a power trip. Either the rules apply to everyone or no one. Her attitude and selective choices of following the dress code ruined my idea that this place was the perfect getaway and soured my experience. 3 weeks prior to upgrade to Level by 15 emails 10 calls with no help. Upon arrival to celebrate…read morepur engagement we were greeted from Eliezer Sanchez. Hector brought us some delicious juice. Eliezer was to be our concierge since upgraded we were switched to Nathaniel. He did not make an effort to meet us the first day and denied us dinner reservations at Mediterranean. A waitress told us they had plenty of tables. Our room door lock was a broken. Enjoyed spa, steam room was broken. Level building 7 our room had sewer gnats. First two days room overlooked by house keeping. Eliezer texted on 3rd day, we let him know about house keeping. That afternoon it was cleaned. Eliezer was a great example of excellent customer service. Nathaniel for some reason upon our first meeting was only 3 minutes he was rude and annoyed. He did not make the effort, we would have tipped greatly and abundantly hundreds if he did. Enjoyed a bike tour with a fantastic guide. We did aromatherapy, Martina was excellent. Due of her good efforts and attitude we booked another spa. Tipped great tram drivers who were happy. In spa Alvaro was exellent, brought drinks and kept spa in order. On our last day we asked Nathaniel about bali bed and bikes. He didn't offer to set up for us instead told us to walk down an wait for staff on beach, waited about 10 minutes to find staff to assist. Dined at Hokkaido our chef was entertaining, helped make my order without food allergies we tipped him. Our concierge never made an effort to meet us on our first day and denied us dinner reservations at the restaurant we wanted. He was very rude to us our entire stay. Each time we saw him and said Hola he gave us dirty looks and never responded back. He never came to us in person nor texted each day to see what we needed. He only texted to activity schedule which we already had on the Melia app. Completely horrible customer service which is sad as we would have tipped him hundreds of dollars if he made an effort. He did not offer us any help nor excursion options, did not schedule spa for us only stated he left a message for the spa with my scheduling question, the only dinner reservation we asked him for he forgot. We waited a bit over an hour and heard nothing so we walked to the spa. They were not busy at all and I had asked if we could move our appointment to the next day. They happily changed it. Not sure why our concierge was unable to do so for us. That afternoon Eliezer met us on the beach. He was personable, made an extra effort, and laughed with us. He mentioned a membership opportunity. We agreed and he offered a romantic dinner on the beach. We heard out the meeting with Alejandro to join the Melia membership it would have cost $2,700. Not bad price at all however, at that point we were there for 3 days already spent $2,800 on all the horrible customer service experiences with Nathaniel. IF our experience had been nicer then we would have purchased the Melia membership and been back yearly. Our room had a bunch of sewer gnats which was gross, a broken door lock, and the only room door without a peep hole. Our second night in the room we were laying in bed and at 9pm a lady tried to open our door multiple times and scared us. She didn't say anything and we could not see her as no peep hole in the door to see if she was housekeeping or not. I texted Nathaniel as we were not feeling safe then and he said could be housekeeping he will just check in the morning. Not the response we hoped for, shouldn't a concierge offer to find out what's wrong if a guest is not feeling safe. Instead I called the front desk to ask and the offered to call housekeeping right then to find out. Nathaniel never followed up about it the next morning. Again why did we pay an extra $1,000 and not get the assistance we paid for?? We went to both customer service desks to review and see what could be done. At Level all they did was call Nathaniel to come talk to us. We headed to our "private" on the beach dinner at Serindipia restaurant. It was not it was on the restaurant with the only difference was our chairs had a flower sash on it. My fiance doesn't drink wine so we opted for moscow mules and asked for titos. We wanted to pay upgrade for them, instead we were brought absolute vodka drinks. Pedro was our waiter who was also the manager. He asked any allergies and I let him know them. Was very disappointed in my salad that consisted of very watering lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado whch was missing limes for the dressing I had asked for. My fiances cesar salad was canned chicken and the dressing was mayo misxed with garlic not cesar. I was sad Pedro couldn't provide replacement food items for me with an onion and garlic allegery, I asked maybe a plain avacado but he said no and I just watched my fiance eat some of his odd Cesar salad and pumpkin soup in front of me lol. Do not get the level upgrade, it's not worth it.

Fast forward.....Our stay at Meliá Caribe Beach Resort was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. My family had the best time ever from the pool, bar beaches and restaurants....they all were absolute highlights of the trip. The staff there was incredible- and so attentive, fun, and creative with the little ones. The resort itself offers so many activities that kept our whole family entertained. From slime-making and foam parties to beach games, a mobile disco, karaoke, and incredible evening shows, there was never a dull moment. If you're looking for a family-friendly resort with top-notch service and endless fun for both kids and adults, Meliá Caribe Beach is the place to be. We can't wait to come back!

I simple assumed I would be able to get some ointment and a bandaid when I returned to the resort. On arrival everyone said no and to check the gift shop. I thought it was crazy I HAD TOO pay for a bandaid but the fact they don't even have a simple first aid kit is crazy to me . I was informed there was a clinic on the premise but that wasn't included and need insurance for a scrape on my knee. I declined. Overall the resort was beautiful and calming. The main restaurant was buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner which wouldn't haven't been bad if the food was properly enclosed but, flies were everywhere. The highlight was the Asian infused dinner reservation restaurant. The service and food was great. My favorite part was definitely the massage at the spa by Yolanda . She was AMAZING and I left feeling relaxed. I highly recommend the spa and wish I knew before hand but also included with services is a pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. Overall I recommend this place and I think opting for the level upgrade would have elevated my experience.

Took a transport 1 hour and 45 minutes to the resort. As soon as I arrived I felt like I did not have a worry in the world. Rookie mistake was not checking in on the app as soon as I arrived. Once I checked in everything at the resort became very easy to navigate. The pools and beach area is the best. Unlimited drinks of any kind you want and there seems to be food everywhere. The Buffett is really well done, food items are designed around DR food items and are always fresh and hot. The rooms are 7 out of 10, my only complaint is the water is super stinky and toilet smells might sneak into the bedroom. Other than that this place is a must visit.

For over three hours, we attempted to contact your staff for assistance--specifically to ask whether we could return to the property at a discounted rate due to circumstances beyond our control. When we finally reached someone, we were placed on hold, transferred three separate times, and ultimately hung up on without resolution or courtesy. This was not our first experience with your property--we have stayed there twice. Sadly, the post-stay service we encountered was the worst I have experienced in 23 years of travel. The message was unmistakable: once guests walk out the door, they no longer matter. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service was shocking and unacceptable. Because of this experience, I will never return and will strongly discourage others from staying at your property. You had an opportunity to help loyal guests during an unexpected travel disruption--and instead chose indifference.
