The room itself was spacious, though a bit outdated. It featured a minibar replenished daily with soda, water, juice, and non-gluten-free snacks. Because tap water in the Dominican Republic is unsafe to drink, bottled water was generously provided throughout the resort and in our bathroom for brushing teeth. We did experience a minor bathroom leak, but maintenance responded promptly and fixed it. My strongest critique of the room is that it severely needs soundproof doors. You can hear people walking by and talking loudly all day, which disrupts the relaxing atmosphere. Gluten-Free Safety and Dining: As someone with Celiac disease, safety was my highest priority when choosing this resort over neighboring options. Navigating severe allergies requires vigilance, and while there is a general language barrier across the property, carrying an allergy card was very helpful. Menus feature allergy labeling accessible via QR codes, though options combining both gluten-free and vegetarian diets are limited, requiring me to order meat dishes for the sides and share the meat with my husband. Our dining experience had a few hiccups, including an initial quick burger joint lunch where communication was tough, and a hibachi dinner where, despite seeing separate preparation with gluten-free soy sauce, I still ended up sick. However, the culinary team consistently went above and beyond to make things right. At the main buffet, the food allergist can guide you through safe options or custom-prepare items like gluten-free pizza and pasta. On our last morning, when the Preferred Club breakfast switched to buffet-only and the standard egg station was not safe, the staff noticed my distress, found a chef, thoroughly cleaned a fresh pan, and made me a safe meal. My favorite dinner spots were the French and Mexican restaurants. Outstanding Staff and Service: The staff and servers at this resort are truly exceptional, and I will miss them tremendously. They were attentive, warm, and took the time to genuinely get to know us and my dietary needs. We made a point to tip our servers throughout the stay and tipped our personal concierge via PayPal, who was always available via text to answer questions or arrange accommodations. The restaurant team consistently double-checked with chefs to prevent cross-contamination, even warning us about sharing desserts when my husband ordered a non-gluten-free item. Special recognition goes to the lunch chef who personally came out to discuss my allergy, crafted an incredible gluten-free veggie burger with a dedicated bun, and remembered me the following day to make it safely again. Resort Grounds, Pools, and Amenities: The resort grounds and main pool areas are lovely and sit right on the ocean, featuring a dedicated Preferred Club beach section with complimentary umbrellas, though the lounge chairs could be more comfortable. Drink servers constantly circulate the main areas as well as private room pools. The main pools close early at 6:00 PM, which made having our own private pool an invaluable perk. In terms of house policies, while designated smoking areas exist, guests frequently smoke in non-designated spots without staff intervention. Spa and Special Celebrations: We celebrated both our anniversary and my husband's 40th birthday during this trip. The staff made it extra special by decorating our room with champagne, balloons, and rose petals, placing celebratory signs on our door, singing to my husband at the Preferred Club lunch, and delivering a birthday cake to our room. We also enjoyed a fantastic spa day using our check-in coupons and a gift card, charging the remaining balance to our room. The spa facility offers a sauna, pool, locker rooms with robes, snacks, and flavored water, capped off by a wonderfully relaxing 80-minute massage. Off-Site Activities and Local Area: Beyond the resort, we booked a memorable ocean excursion through the website that included snorkeling with stingrays and nurse sharks, a relaxing massage, and onboard snacks and drinks. Additionally, there is a local market with food and shops within short walking distance of the resort. It felt very safe and fun to explore. I have just returned from a 5 day trip. We're a couple in our 40s, no kids, and we stayed at Dreams Onyx but spent most of the time at Breathless Punta Cana. Both resorts are connected so you have full access to both (except preferred areas). Get ready to do some walking and get lost while you learn how to get around. By the way, for the restaurants, they should have bigger signs to make our lives easier when trying to find them. Food at the specialty restaurants is one of the best food I've ever had in an all inclusive. I recommend: - Bluewater steakhouse at Dreams: Skirt steak, short rib, Rib eye. - Coquette at Breathless: Beef tenderloin - Capers (Italian) at Dreams: Lasagna, Funghi risotto, chicken parmigiana. If you go around 7pm get ready for an average wait time of 45 min to an hour. They give you a buzzer and you can wait at the bar area having some drinks. If you go prior to 6:30pm you may be able to get seated right away. Buffet for breakfast at both Dreams and Breathless were good but we preferred the one at Dreams. It was an open air tropical vibe kind of restaurant. Lunch buffet could be much much better. Lots of variety but most things didn't taste good and we're not pick eaters. Taco truck is good but nothing really special about it so I don't get all the hype. Pork taco was better than chicken. Most of the times I had lunch at the burger grill by the beach. Their fries were 100 times better than the buffet fries. (No, the lunch buffet couldn't even get their fries right). The burger grill at breathless is better since they cook their burgers while you're waiting so you'll get them fresh. Main pool at Breathless had a good vibe, friendly people, good music, but, unfortunately, a lot of times they use YouTube with commercials when the entertainment team is not around which is ridiculous and amateur, but other days they had a playlist with no ads. The party pool at Breathless was a joke, even during the afternoon parties. Very boring. This was my main disappointment since I've been to Breathless Riviera Maia and it was much more fun. But since I was happy with the vibe at the non-party pool I didn't care about it. Lazy river at Dreams is also good, perfect for those hot days since there are multiple water falls. No need to bring your own floats, we always found available ones. Evening entertainment is a hit or miss. Silent disco was fun and so was the club afterwards. Unfortunately, it rained, so the white party was moved inside. The space was too small for the crowd and the music was good at first but the it became too repetitive. Not my type of thing. I didn't even go to the Dominican show the next day. Staff was very friendly. I still think the staff in Cancun in general is friendlier than in DR but the staff at Dreams and Breathless did not disappoint. You will come across a few people who seem to dislike their job but 90% of them are friendly. Most of the guests were couples in the 30 to 50 age range (including us) and we met some nice people. I do not consider this a party resort. It you want a relaxing vibe with good food, good drinks, comfortable room, friendly staff, both Dreams (with kids) and Breathless (no kids) may be a good choice for you. If you want a party resort "Cancun spring break style", a bachelorette party hotel for a group of 23 year old girls, a party resort for a group of single guys in their 20s, I would not recommend this resort unless you come in a large group and can do your own partying. For my next trip I might look for a resort that offers foam parties and more live music because these are things we enjoy and Breathless didn't offer during our stay. I understand they have a rock show but that's once a week. My last trip was to Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun and while I really enjoyed Breathless I had more fun at Riu. read more

I have to say this was a very nice resort as it's my first all-inclusive resort. It was very very warm and Punta Canta but I appreciate it that all of the rooms have really good air conditioning although I wish I could have adjusted Period the rooms are very nice and updated period my bed was very comfortable period I really enjoyed the amenities in the room Such as the mini bar That was fully stocked period My friends and I were preferred at the resort and I recommend upgrading to that status. Our butler, Sterling, provided excellent service and was able to get us into every restaurant and was able to accommodate a party of 34. We may not have been able to accomplish some of the things that we were trying to do without his assistance. I also highly recommend the preferred adult-only pool. The bartender Alejandro kept our drinks going and always had great recommendations for drinks and activities. Overall I am considering coming back with my family because of the location and of the excellent service. Please note that the Hotel amenities are great however some things that I would improve upon would be ensuring that there's air conditioning in the gym as I enjoy going to the gym but it was very hot. The breakfast food was our favorite, the Mexican restaurant coming in close second. The cafes were open 24/7 and they had a lot of pools to choose from. My boyfriend loved the lazy river and slides, as well as the massage we got at the spa. All inclusive, gated, close access to the beach, friendly staff, and clean rooms. Note Breathless is definitely more of a party vibe and Dreams is family friendly, both resorts are connected. There were parts of Hotel Onyx that were very nice. The staff was very nice, all of them. We didn't run into anyone who wasn't friendly and helpful. Also, the food was very good with lots of choices. But there were a lot of things that were not so great in my opinion. My biggest issue - people were smoking EVERYWHERE. The staff said there were designated smoking locations when I asked, but they do not stop people from smoking in any areas that are supposed to be non-smoking. So there were people smoking (cigarettes, cigars, weed) around the pools, in the pools, in the cabana areas, at the bars - everywhere. Even navigating the walkways to get to the restaurants, or lobby there are people walking and smoking with no regard to the people who may not want to be around it. Also - the pools close at 6pm? Really? It's 90+ degrees at 8pm but yet you're going to close the pools at 6pm? They claim they don't have enough lifeguards, but there are no lifeguards on duty during the day anyway except in the kid area. Seems ridiculous to limit the pool time when the whole reason I went on vacation was too lounge in the pool. I called around to a few other hotels nearby and the pools are open for a reasonable time into the evening. The restaurants and lobby were way too hot. No where was actually refreshingly cool. So unless you were in the water, there was no where to go that was actually cool. Even our rooms were not cool enough. I called down and someone came to adjust it slightly cooler, but we did not have control of our own thermostat to turn it down more, so it was still some hot sleeping. Generally speaking... they could invest more in cleaning. When you shower the water goes everywhere and eventually pools in the bathroom so when you sit on the toilet your feet are sitting in water. Just got back from 6 days at this resort. Want to leave a full review so please be patient. Went as a family of four. Myself, wife, 11 and 13 year olds. Rooms: The rooms were good size and cleaned well daily. We had a preferred swim out that faced away from the main pool which was nice because it had shade in the afternoon, and it's own private bar. Not a traditional swim though where you step off your patio into water. It was more of a private pool and nonpreferred guests used it as well. Food: Overall the food was good. Hibachi was the best by far. Great show and did not feel rushed as we have at other AI resorts. French and steak house were great too. The Italian and Asian restaurant we were mixed on our reviews. Service was great at all locations. There is also an ice cream shop, which the kids enjoyed, and a taco truck that we didn't think was very good. Kids tried things from the buffet and liked it. Pool/Beach: The beach is amazing. Well maintained and very little seaweed during our stay. We stayed in the water for hours. The pools were all very nice and clean. Never a problem getting chairs and plenty of towels. Pool service was good, but they did not serve food at the pool area unless you got it yourself. Preferred: We would not do preferred again. On check in, the bag men did not seem to know where to direct us. The room reservation request we made was ignored, but eventually they were able to accommodate. We were there on our anniversary, and the only acknowledgement was a banner on our door. Our concierge was good for reservations, but he rarely communicated with us about once a day, only in person a few times. I found this very odd compared to preferred level experiences we've had with other resort groups. It was nice to have a preferred lounge to get out of the heat. There is a preferred restaurant off the buffet, but there were non preferred guests that would come in and take tables. We stayed at Breathless...first the VIP service e we received from host Willy was awesome...he was accommodating, anything you needed he took care of. He also went out of his way to make my 59th birthday extra special! Thank you Willy. The food was all good on both the Breathless and Dreams side...you were never going to get anything that wasn't seasoned well. Usually room service is not that great but everything we received was great. The Exhale lounge team was amazing from Murphy, Yanna and Dania were all great, great drinks and great service. Angel was also great at the party pool, gave us a great service and always checked on us. Earnandez was one of the trolley driver and her took us for a tour of both of the properties on our way back to the room. All together it was a great time and we were catered to every moment we were there. Never once did we feel like no one was available. Willy was available anytime you needed him and also popped up anywhere you were at to check on us. He set up all reservations, pick up's and took care of any special requests. I stayed at the Dreams Onyx for 5 days and 4 nights as my cousin was having a destination wedding at this resort. We booked our trip through Apple Vacation, so we had a shuttle bring us to and from the airport. Once we got to the hotel, we checked in which took about 10-15 minutes. The served us champagne and we got coupons to use at the spa, dining, etc. We got escorted to our room, which was a junior suite with a garden view on the 3rd floor. In my opinion, I felt like the room smelled a bit strange. I couldn't tell if it was because of the incense they were using in the hall for the mosquitoes or because of mold (?). The room came with a mini fridge, that gets stocked daily as well as a safe that didn't actually work. The resort itself is a bit outdated and could use some maintenance work. I overhead a hotel worker telling another group of guests that the hotel has been open for a few years and to be honest I can tell. Now... the food. As this is an all-inclusive resort, all your food and drinks are included. This means you can eat as much or as little as you want. I don't know if it is just this resort or the area itself, but the food was not food. The food was bland and uninteresting. The beef was absolutely terrible, it was very tough and felt like I was chewing on a rubber band. There were very limited fresh fruits and they didn't taste sweet at all. The alcohol, while flowing, never made me even feel buzzed. They have the main buffet area, that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with a handful of al-la-carte restaurants that only serve for dinner. I don't recommend going to the steak restaurant, despite it being the one with the longest line. I preferred the Italian place. The pool and beach and fine. I've definitely been to cleaner beaches, but it is nice that all the towels and umbrellas are included and you don't have to pay extra. Overall, I felt like my stay at this resort wasn't the best. Breathless Cancun is the gold standard for me. So going to Breathless Punta Cana, Dominican Republic , I had high expectations. To summarize Check in - didn't get told how to get free bottle of wine and champagne breakfast. Dead bolt lock was not working. The bellman called to have it fixed and it's still broke. The light over our doorway flickered the entire stay. All constantly being sought after to buy trinkets and pictures unrelated to property. Beach attendants could be more responsive. All workers should spend less time socializing with coworkers. Pools were awesome. The service team was awesome around the pools. Add more towel pickup areas. My family and I checked into the Hyatt Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa in Punta Cana late in December 2025, and our experience was so unsettling that we left the very next day. I've traveled extensively and stayed at many Hyatt properties, and I have never felt so uncomfortable, unsafe, or dismissed by a hotel's leadership. From the moment we arrived, the tone was off. After check in, we were escorted to a room that was in visibly poor condition--worn, uninviting, and located on the first floor directly overlooking an active construction site. Not exactly the relaxing holiday environment we expected for a 7 day, 6 night stay. Still, we tried to make the best of it for our children. But as we explored the resort, things only got worse. Guests were openly smoking in common areas with no staff intervention. At the main pool, we overheard a family making derogatory remarks about Jewish people. As a Jewish family, this was not only offensive--it made us feel unsafe on the property. I raised these concerns with multiple staff members on 12/24 and again during checkout on 12/25. On the morning of 12/25, I spoke directly with the onsite general manager and was only offered a different room. Thankfully, I was able to secure accommodations at another Hyatt property starting on 12/25. Had it been possible to leave on the night of 12/24, we absolutely would have. Once I returned to the United States and started contacting the hotel, I was put in contact with Cheila Rodriguez. Unfortunately, Ms. Rodriguez was not helpful at all. Instead of showing concern, urgency, or even basic empathy, she offered no meaningful solutions. Her indifference was astonishing and completely unacceptable for someone in her position. Given the conditions, the lack of safety, and the dismissive response from management--especially General Manager Cheila Rodriguez--I am appalled with my experience at the Hyatt Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa in Punta Cana. This experience fell far below Hyatt standards and left my family feeling shaken during what should have been a joyful holiday vacation. Pros - Incredibly friendly staff willing to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. - Plenty of places to eat and drink. Recommend Bluewater Grill (steakhouse) and Mercure (French) - On site support to plan off resort excursions - Easy access to adjoining Breathless resort that features a nightclub and casino (not much of a casino though) Cons - It is a 45min to 1 hr from the airport. - Some sales pressure to join the Hyatt vacation club. You have to decline. - A lot of people selling trinkets on the beach makes it difficult to relax - Limited beer selection. They had Presidente (their local beer), Coors Light, and Heineken - Air conditioning in rooms do not cool effectively. Pointers - Suggest booking through an agency to have shuttle support to/from airport provided - Consider upgrading to Preferred status. We upgraded to the preferred to have access to preferred member areas but discovered that proof of the upgrade was not always asked for. We were asked only twice the whole week. - Have lots of smaller bills for tipping - Ask for top shelf brands as I think the rail stuff is watered down. read more

Pros: - Beautiful beach - Access to the adults-only resort next door (Breathless), which has a casino and nightclub - Friendly staff - Pools all over the place. You cannot walk anywhere without seeing a pool - Bars everywhere Cons: - Our room had a broken phone and while it was quickly replaced after a ticket sent via the Hyatt app, it shouldn't have been that way at all - The TV never worked. It kept saying it was creating an experience but that experience never loaded. We were barely in the room so we let that one go - The drains in the bathroom sinks were slow as hell and could use a round of cleaner - Our room was only cleaned ONCE during our 5 day stay. We left the DND sign off the door, contacted via the app, nothing after day one - Turndown service only happened on our first night and they left a pile of pillows on the couch so the job was incomplete - The breakfast buffet is the only breakfast option (minus the coffee shop) and the food was bland. The coffee shop only makes sweet coffees and tries to serve cake on paper napkins. The ONLY place for lunch is Barefoot on the beach. All restaurants are ONLY open for dinner - The AC thermostat does not allow you to change the temp. The only way to turn off the blasting AC is to leave the patio door open a crack, which in turn causes condensation everywhere due to the humidity - The bars close at 11 unless you head over to Breathless. The bars also ran out of mint for mojitos after the second night I liked this place because the beds were comfy and the staff was friendly but it had SO many cons, especially for a Hyatt property. I really hope Hyatt can turn this place around so 1) there are better and MORE food options (especially for lunch) and 2) the rooms have things that work properly and are cleaned sufficiently. read more

We went here for a wedding and also celebrated our anniversary / vacation. Congratulations to my friends Eden and Barbie on your wedding. This place is so beautiful. And we stayed in the preferred rooms. What a great experience, and we also had an awesome butler, and his name is Francisco. So if you ever take a trip and stay at this hotel, ask for him. They decorated our room for an anniversary.The pictures are in my husband's phone. The food was delicious to entertainment was good. We had a couples massage. Or try a single person massage. And when we walked into our room, they Hey, bottle of champagne and a bottle of tequila in our room. They filled the refrigerator with M & M, Milky Way, and Dominican water. Our room had a private swimming pool , jacuzzi and a cabana. The staff on the outside was very helpful and polite. And always asking if you would like something to drink and bring it rent to your cabana or up on the deck. We also had a flotting river behind our room.They were with a swim up bar. Secrets that is a jointed to the hotel so you can do the adult party's, foam pool party and other adults activities. Dream Onyx Resort also has a water park and a very small casino. And one wins. I think they just want your money.lol I want to end and also have a lot of restaurants. Resort wise, the landscaping was gorgeous and the surrounding beaches were really pretty. It was easy to make your way to the pools or beaches depending on which one you preferred to visit. Towels were sort of difficult to procure, but food and drinks were fine. Room wise, the bathroom was awkward but the rest of the layout was good. The bathroom has an outer glass door that you close and then inside the toilet and shower share one door that closes one side or the other. You can use the door inside to close the toilet or shower... but it's not very noise proof. You have your own private jacuzzi on the balcony which was great fun at night. Food wise, it was alright. The Carnival Buffet was a bit lackluster - food was either very bland or very salty... what saved the buffet were the freshly cooked omelettes, waffles, and fresh eggs. We eventually moved onto the buffet at Breathless which was definitely better than Onyx's. However, dinner improved our spirits. Spice (a Benihana-like teppanyaki) was entertaining and they served a mean fried rice. Meat was alright. Bluewater Grill was probably the best meal of the entire trip. The churrasco steak was cooked medium rare and was tender and oh so juicy. Must try. Service wise, the staff that could speak English were very very nice and professional and got things done. The staff that couldn't speak English... well, let's just say if they couldn't comprehend you, obviously nothing happens. They just continue to serve like you didn't ask them anything. I was a little shocked that English wasn't the main language at the resort but I realized that it's not part of the United States. Spanish is the main language here. Oh, and if you're ever at the bar in the evenings, ask for Jorge. That man is a riiiiiiot and made our nights there simply a BLAST. He's great! (Hello from Stephanie #2!) Came here for a wedding, while the staff was friendly and welcoming the hotel itself needs more assistance. When we arrived we were excited that we could go to Breathless (adult only) side but on two occasions during our stay we came to our room that has no cold running water; toilets couldn't flush, and the hot water to shower was burning hot. We called the front desk the first night and they stated it was an issue in the entire hotel and they were working on it, the following night the same thing but this time our room phone didn't work. Also the bride had no cold running water the morning of her wedding. The wedding coordinator told us one time for the rehearsal dinner 630, and when we arrived the restaurant stated it was for 6 and had given the table away. We came with a vision of considering this to be our potential wedding destination for when we tie the knot but we left displeased. The day of the wedding we ran into more nightmares, the coordinator did not coordinate anything we had to remind her when to cut the cake, and when the bridge and groom would do their typical garter removal and bouquet toss which has been discussed in multiple emails months in advance. You would think with a wedding they would give extra care to the couple and yet they had them running around like chicken with no heads. We came here for a quick weekend vacation. The facilities at Now Onyx and the neighboring Breathless were amazing! The service was above and beyond. The food was mediocre. The nights we were there the Italian restaurant was closed. We ate at the Eastern Mediterranean Restaurant and thought the food was pretty good. Buffet was again mediocre. No bad food but nothing blew me away. The entertainment staff, as most all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, was on point and very effective at entertaining. The bartenders kept everything lively and drinks flowing. We had a second floor room with a pool view. The room was very nice with new decor. I'll try to stick to constructive criticism and be as fair as possible...the pools and beaches are really nice. The pools have nice private islands you can rent and the beaches have private cabanas. If you don't want to rent one of those, there plenty of nice chairs you can snag on a first come-first serve basis. They have several swim up bars which are convenient and very cool. The lazy river and the slides are fun, especially if you have kids. The resort is overall clean and has a good vibe. When we checked in, we realized they had given us a double bed room and asked if they had any kind rooms available. Long story endless...we waited so long to be given a room that we submitted to taking the double bed room and didn't receive keys until after check in time at 3:40. My only other criticisms for this place are: The food: I'd give the food a 3/10. For an all inclusive resort, it was like they were trying to cut costs and reusing food or just making it plain shitty. The buffet is your best bet for decent food, don't even try the room service. The restaurants are just ok in quality and you need a reservation to get in. The drinks: I suffer from bad hangovers and bad heart burn. Throughout my stay, I went without any heartburn or hangover bouts and now that I think of it, I don't ever remember being drunk or buzzed despite having many free drinks. Service: You have two choices...go to the bar or wait for the waiters to make their rounds. Either way, they forgot what we ordered on several occasions or were talking and took forever to get our orders. All staff were courteous though. They have an option to get a "butler" which we thought was a person that would be available to get our drinks, but this person just makes reservations or checks on the status of your bags and things like that, much like a concierge. read more

We had a great stay with extended family and friends! Sixty of us flew in and stayed and gathered at Now Onyx for a wedding. The place was AWESOME! Not too crowded. We went in early April and the pools, restaurants, bars, and beach were just perfectly crowded. We never had to get down to the beach or the pool too early to set up our chairs/towels. We only had to make one reservation at a restaurant (and that was because there were 8 of us dining and we only had to wait 45 minutes at the bar next door - not a problem). The service was great - we never had to wait for a drink. Drinks were good - I preferred the beachy cocktails over the house wines/beers. The pools were beautiful! Staff was very accommodating if we needed a bit more shade. Restaurants were very good. There was a good mix of cuisine and the lunch buffet was very good and fresh. Our hotel rooms were extremely spacious, cleaned daily, and they were able to get adjoining rooms with family which was very fun. The balconies were great to gather and big enough for at least 4 to hang out on. We had a garden view and their garden/courtyard area was very beautiful with foliage, walkways, flowers, and blue pools. You could listen to music and people watch or if you needed some shut-eye, the sliding doors completely shut off any extra noise. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a blast! The DJ did a great job playing the requested music and some staff even danced with us! :) Food was good too! I would definitely go back to Now Onyx or a sister hotel on my next stay. So happy to finally get away from the reality of work & big city traffic gridlock for some sun and fun. It was a family of 7 escape. This family 4.5-star resort was a 45-minute bus ride from Punta Cana International Airport. Not unlike other drivers on roadways sprinkled with metal speed bubbles & bumps to slow drivers down, our driver wasn't holding back from honking at others and doing things that would surely get us a booklet of driving infractions. After stops at two other resorts, we arrived safely. First impressions are not always correct so I waited a few days to get data to reinforce my experience. So why a five-star rating? This a beautiful family resort with friendly helpful staff. The grounds, many pools, venues are pristinely maintained. The government owned beach is beautiful and resort beach staff readily met our beverage needs. Staff at the food venues were great with super service from Samuel (Scores Sports Bar), Eugenia (On a Roll Burger Bar), Delmari (CoCo Cafe), Joel (The Mix Beach Bar), Sylvio (Unlimited Vacation Club) and Dalyn + Manuel (Carnival International Buffet). I loved my room! Third-floor quiet, king bed, and a/c + fan cooled. All resort activities were updated daily on the big screen in room. Without a reservation, have dinner at Capers Italian Restaurant, Bluewater Grill, or Mercure French Cusine. Spice, a Japanese Restaurant requires reservations because there are only 4 tables of 10 guests each. Don't forget in this all-inclusive resort, if you get over-the-top service from someone, show your appreciation by tipping DOP (Dominicana Peso)! The on-site currency exchange is $1 USD = 45 DOP but don't be surprised that if they tell you that don't have any; beware they want you to tip in USD. Now Onyx Punta Cana Resort (is family focused)and Breathless Resorts & Spa (which is adults only and has a Casino) properties are adjacent to each other and you can enjoy most of the benefits of the other resort for no extra cost! What can I say , I went to Punta Cana for the second time and was amazed by what I seen . This resort was a little farther out than the previous one I visited a few years ago but it was really good . The people were nice and my butler was amazing Rafael . I went by myself but I met a lot of great people along the way . I liked the dining experience . I stayed in a preferred room so I had a little more access to private pool ,hot tub , beach area , eating area , private bars and other things that the general public didn't have access to . Also I was able to go next door to Breathless resort next door which I enjoyed as well . Watched the sunrise daily and it was an amazing view everyday . The up keep was great and waiters and waitress amazing , my only reason for not giving it 5 stars was the entertainment , with me being my age on vacation I need a better music selection and exciting night life and I didn't get that as much as I wanted but the resort next door offered it but it just started to late and by the time they opened I was tired from being up the entire day . I would definitely go back because if you look online their staff of amazing from that alone to my personal experience . Very clean and sure to make you want to revisit again . read more

There and so many great things I could say about this resort. Our experience was excellent! It was lower capacity due to Covid, so it was the perfect amount of calm for my family of four and two grandparents. We were treated like royalty. We had a preferred club room, with a Butler. Our butler for six days was Felix. He was great. He chauffeured us on a golf cart when necessary. My father came with us and he has two artificial knees so this was everything to us! He made us dinner reservations and got my husband certain types of alcohol. Basically anything we asked he did. When his day off was our last day, we were given Aris and he was just as good. We only had him for one evening, but he seemed to be amazing as well. The entertainment staff was great. Kevin Hart, Barack Obama, Mr. Little Man, and Beyoncé were the best. They went out of our way to make our stay great. Especially Barack Obama. He memorized where we were seated each day and brought us our towels without asking. Randy, was the pool bar waiter and was amazing! He spoke little English but that didn't stop him making a connection with my father who basically sat around all day, while we went to the beach and such. His glass was never empty, ice cubes melted, Randy is there with a new drink. Excellent service! Estoban was our waiter for most restaurants. It seemed we were on the same schedule rotation with him and he seemed to be at every place we were. He was great and even got my daughter a special dessert when the dessert wasn't available. The resort was clean, well taken care of and our rooms were great. One of the rooms we were given the first night was not, and they moved us the next day. No problems. My husband and I like to try new resorts each time we vacation which is about twice a year. However, this will definitely be a resort we revisit! read more
