Then they already had a relationship with the resort we chose, and that made everything even better. I called initially to confirm so items and she provided some great insight into how to make my stay even better. Upon reaching the door we found it to be locked, but when we looked in the window we saw the owner Marti Lombardo working at her desk. We made eye contact with one another and she smiled. The first sign read "Open Saturdays 10am - 2pm" with another sign below that reading "Open Saturdays for Appointment Only". We figured that we would have to make an appointment for another time so we just decided to look at the few books that they had set up on their outdoor shelves. At this time we turned to see Marti Lombardo jump out of her chair and crawl under her desk in an attempt to hide from us. She was looking around the corner of her desk from the floor to see if we had walked away and was grabbing things from her desktop while still hiding underneath. We never knocked on the door or asked for any service. We were simply looking at the books they had to offer outside, but once Marti saw us, she decided to hide under her desk in an effort not to have any interaction with us for an unknown reason. I feel like this is VERY unprofessional and could have been handled in a completely different manner. Because of this experience we will NEVER be booking anything through Going Places Travel and we will definitely not be recommending this business to anyone.

On "our" block around our hotel, the Indigo (soon to be the Claridge), we had more restaurants than we could visit during our four-day stay. We could catch the taxi right outside our door and quickly get to the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Field Museum. Also, an architectural boat tour along the Chicago River. When I called 10 minutes after our…read morescheduled time, she offered an excuse despite having multiple opportunities (including reminder texts) to let me know she couldn't make it. I believe in second chances, so I rescheduled. She confirmed she would definitely be there this time. Unfortunately, less than 24 hours later, she was a no-show again. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend her as she proved to be unreliable and disrespectful of other people's time.

We had a brief tutorial, and there was even complementary (just on the rails) umbrellas because the sun was beating down. The distance between the person in front of us and behind us was perfect. The cars are self-propelled so you don't really have the pedal much. It was really nice and relaxing. I took some really great photos of the scenery. Two things I recommend; bug spray & a hat.
