The ACSM certification is what I personally prefer and was happy to find someone to work with at Body Outfitters. From Bachelor degrees in Exercise Science, ACSM certifications and Certified Strength & Conditioning coach credentials to being a well rounded staff of athletes, Body Outfitters has a trainer or coach for you to help you with your athletic and fitness needs. When seeking a personal trainer, It is important to know the background of the trainer you choose to work with and I feel all staff at Body Outfitters are professional and more than qualified in their trade. I am working with Eric Thompson and like any new trainer/client relationship, we are in the grace period of where he is getting to know me and I am getting to know him. A good trainer wants to keep you safe, teach you good form, make you grow, build & tone your body, keep you smiling & motivated and train you to keep you in your athletic endeavors you love for life. I want to sweat, be pushed, work in proper form, laugh and feel a sense of accomplishment. Eric and I are slowly finding this groove as we start to work together this summer. A good trainer is a good accompaniment to my athletic lifestyle and all the other things I do (hiking, biking, yoga, boxing, Pilates, etc) and I have found that with Eric and Body Outfitters. They have personal training starting around $33 (which is a steal compared the costs I am used to paying living in larger cities!), in addition to small group training, family workouts and training geared towards working through an injury. Body Outfitters seems like they are going to work with you on whatever fitness need or goal you have. When I initially reached out over e-mail, I heard a response very quickly. The small facility in the cute city scape of downtown Zionsville is clean, welcoming and functional. They have all sorts of loose weights, weight machines, TRX equipment, etc. to build a program full of variety. By appointment only, so check out their website and contact the owner or staff to make your initial visit. My first visit/consultation was at no cost. If you are seeking a personal trainer and live in the area, Body Outfitters would be a good spot to start your fitness journey (regardless of level!).

The nice thing about Anytime Fitness is that members have 24 hour access 7 days a week, hence ANYTIME. Members can also use any of the Anytime locations with their key card. So there's no excuse not to work out when you travel. This location, like all the locations has a mix of cardio machines, weigh equipment and dedicated area and an area to do mat exercises. They have a small amount of cubby's/lockers to put you stuff each time you visit. They also have a couple of unisex showers (but do not supply towels.) This location gets a little crowded with a lot of people working out. The machines are pretty close together and it gets pretty loud when all the cardio machines are going. I also think the gym is a little dark, with black ceilings, dark walls and cramped quarters. The people (staff and clients) are super friendly. Everyone is supportive. They do not offer classes which I think is unfortunate. Anytime has an app for members and it gives you tips and will help set goals if you want.

It's smaller than my "home" location but it still serves my needs. I would like to see some newer cardio equipment like the AMTs or even the arc trainers. Though I considered myself in decent shape…read more(I was on the treadmill daily), I definitely felt I could use a good kick in rear to whip myself into better shape. The workouts at 9Round are very challenging, but doable, even for those of us in our mid/late 40s. There are nine, heart-racing stations or rounds, that you circuit through, with a 30-second aerobic "break" between each round. The rounds are changed up on a daily basis, but every workout includes core, arms and legs. Every workout also includes kickboxing (punching and kicking), which is fun and stress-relieving! Trainers are great, and create a fun and motivational atmosphere. End of the day though, the results are the results. The challenge was 20 pounds OR a 5% reduction in body fat in 6-weeks. Weight: Starting weight: 194 pounds Ending weight: 180 pounds Loss: 14 pounds 14 pounds in 6 weeks - AWESOME. Slightly disappointed not to lose the 20 pounds, but I don't think I was quite 20 pounds overweight starting out. Body Fat: Starting: 28.2% Ending: 21.7% Loss: 6.5% I kicked the challenges' ass and am beyond thrilled with the results. I am more muscular now and have lost both my 2nd and 3rd chin - very exciting! Between the weight loss and the body fat reduction, I look and feel better than I have in probably, well, pretty much my entire adult life. Conclusion - If you are ready to commit to intense, but fun workouts 3-4 times per week and eat a healthy, balanced diet, Josh and his fantastic team of trainers, can and will help you to accomplish your fitness and weight loss goals. Love the 30 minute, come when convenient for you, workout. Highly recommend!
