I'm really picky about flowers. I know what I like but beyond orchids, peonies, roses, I don't have the names of flowers on the tip of my tongue. ("Do you have those cool, kelly green flowers that look like space flowers, they're shaped like buttons?" Yeah, my "technical language" has flummoxed one or two florists.) So when I called Exeter Flower Shop, they carefully listened to my specific requests ("A tight arrangement, in a glass cube, oh are peonies in season?") and they kindly filled in the many blanks to produce a gorgeous arrangement. I'd ordered flowers for a friend's New Year party, can't roll up empty handed, and she was ecstatic. My little sister had her baby up at Exeter Hospital in NH. Being in the middle of a pandemic, nobody is allowed to visit and I had no way of driving up there from Massachusetts to delivery anything. So I called the Exeter Flower Shop. A wonderful gentlemen asked me how much I was looking to spend and what colors or flowers I was thinking of. After browsing their website, I gave him a rough idea of what kind of flower arrangement I was looking for. He took payment over the phone and said he would have it delivered that day. Not having the slightest clue how it would look or if it would be worth the money, I was pleased when my sister was surprised and sent me a photo of the flowers thanking me. I ordered a sympathy arrangement for delivery to someone dear who had suffered a loss. It turned out that my son ALSO placed an order to express sympathy to this same person at the same address. My son and I did not realize that we had picked the same florist and the same sample arrangement from the website. Instead of using common-sense judgement and varying the two arrangements at least slightly, or contacting me OR my son to ask for instructions given that they had two identical orders for the same person, the folks at Exeter Flower Ship simply made two, identical arrangements and delivered them both the the bereaved. Really? Does it make any kind of sense to deliver the same person two IDENTICAL arrangements from two different senders? I could see if one person were going to get multiple dozens of roses for a joyful occasion -- that would be lovely. But two identical sympathy arrangements? I still can't believe this happened and won't use this florist again. read more

My 86 y.o. mother lives in Exeter and my sister and I live far away. We have always been very happy with Exeter Flowers over the years. This time, however, they went above and beyond! When we had to cancel our plans to get together at the last minute due to COVID, it was too late to send the gifts and treats to my mom. My sister called Exeter Flowers and they were able to send a BEAUTIFUL arrangement the same day. We placed two orders for flowers for my mother's funeral. We had been advised that the flower shop was not all that dependable for on time delivery of flowers, so opted to pick up the flowers the morning of the funeral. When we arrived they only had one arrangement, and scrambled to even find the other order, they offered to "put something together" however, we were already on our way to the funeral and indicated that we couldn't wait. They allowed that because it was "partially their fault" they would refund our money - IT WAS ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT - I had the order confirmation indicating what time I would be picking them up and receipt, there should not have even been a question that they would refund the money. I would not recommend them to anyone, and am sorry that I did not pay attention when someone said that we might try to find somewhere else to get flowers for my mother's funeral read more

I had a relative in the Exeter Hospital and since I live in another state I wasn't sure of the exact address to give to have flowers delivered, since I only had a room number. I called to place an order over the phone and the woman I spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful. She said the room number was plenty and that they were very familiar with delivering to the hospital, so not to worry. She helped me design a beautiful bouquet, and the flowers, vase, small stuffed animal, and delivery all came to under $50 - and they delivered it same day! So thankful for their help! read more

Kevin and team created 8 table centerpieces for a family event that looked better than imagined. I came in a few months before, let him know certain flower types I wanted, color pallette, and I picked up a perfect Spring arrangement. Colors and array were perfect. I volunteer at Exeter Hospital and one of my duties is distributing the flowers that come in. The arrangements from Exeter Flower Shop are always gorgeous. That's worth 5 stars already. Added to that, I needed a low-allergenic bouquet for my wife who is bothered by the fragrance of the usual assortments. Exeter Flower Shop did a wonderful job! The flowers are pretty but the service was impressively not so. After waiting more than 25 minutes for two corsages and a boutonnière that they clearly had put no thought in until we had walked in, the manager proceeded to scream at a very nice employee in front of us and then complained to my mom about his managerial situation. I had spent the past few years playing scrabble with my Mom a couple of times a week at the nursing home. I bought it online. I choose the best one. It shows more than 20 flowers in picture, but I just got 17. And it cost me 127!

Flowers ordered by family member during my hospital stay in Portsmouth. Bouquet arrived a full day later than promised with a note saying that this was the case. My family member apparently had to call again to get the flowers delivered at all. When they arrived, the flowers looked old and not at all fresh. The roses were already drooping and browned at the edges; the lilies were already past freshness. I feel really bad that my family paid such a high price for such sad looking flowers that were delivered so much later than promised. read more
