I sought out Deb several months before an anticipated relocation, desiring career direction at a…read morepivotal time. At the end of our first meeting, Deb told me that I had the answers I was looking for; she was just going to ask the right questions. Our work together took a hard left from my initial expectations. Instead of Deb telling me how to land a suitable job, we explored my beliefs about money and personal responsibility. We examined how I judge in others that which I reject in myself. We practiced curiosity, self-compassion, and relational bridge building. We dug into meaning making and my attachment to personal struggle as a status symbol. In the end, I didn't move, and while externally my life looks really similar to how it did when I first stepped into her office, my interior has been rendered almost unrecognizable--in the best way. The gifts of our work together have been immeasurable. I have learned how to feel, think, and live differently. Working with Deb means working from the inside out. As a…read morewoman in my mid-twenties, my parents recommended that I schedule a session with a career counselor, but I felt that I needed something a little different. I had a college degree, incredible work experience, and years of therapy that helped me determine my values and goals, but I didn't know how to start leading the life that I wanted. I knew what I did not want, but had a hard time moving in the direction that I desired without a clear path. In short, the biggest lesson I learned from Deb was to simply stay curious and open to possibility. I previously would talk myself out of applying for a position, going to a workshop or out with a new friend, and rationalized it in my head as just being practical, but I was actually shutting myself down from a potential opportunity to build connection. After each session, Deb challenged me to come up with action steps, and checked in with me during the week to continue supporting me and hold me accountable (which I asked for). Since starting our work together, I have chosen to wake up each morning with intention and be happy and grateful about all of the possibilities instead of overwhelmed to pick the "right" one; I have gained more confidence in my decisions and self-worth; I received a scholarship to attend a workshop that I was excited about but could not afford; I started a part-time business with my partner through the help of community networking; and also began an incredibly perfect new job that combines my interests and values. Even though I needed help with action steps, I equally (if not more importantly) needed help with patience, something that Deb helped me become more comfortable with. It is this balance of being vulnerable- both in action and in patience- that I learned and has changed how I live and enjoy my life. Above all, Deb's compassionate, intellectual, nurturing and holistic style of coaching gave me the structure I needed to move forward, and skills to calm myself down, enjoy life, and stay curious.

Leapin has clearly marked sections to making it easier to find what you are looking for easier. They carry a wide variety of mediums from crystals to books to incense. Jewelry both made locally as well as from afar. The woman who assisted seemed a little awkward when asking for help. Could not make eye contact nor would she stay with me to answer any questions. She went from her chair behind the counter, pointed out the table with jewelry walking away from me to the bookshelf where she started to browse the books. The only thing I could think of was she was looking for a crystal book to assist? She did not though. I selected a gorgeous honey Amber necklace and three bracelets, next stones. If you've never been here before you learn that the stones call YOU. I have many examples of this happening to me and today was no exception. Then over to the incense area for a few boxes to stock up the house. I spent over $100 which seemed to make the woman happy, she had to do the bare minimum to make this sale. I do miss the women who've worked here who jump in and ask if they can help, stay available for any questions and are super happy you came in. Maybe she was having an off day, don't we all. On the minus side the variety once offered is no longer the case, seems like the whole thing has been scaled back considerably. I will now have to make my way up to the Freeport location and see what if anything has changed there. Happy they are still in our community.
