I recently found myself somehow arrested and charged with an A-Class Felony over a minor domestic situation winding up in the Orange County Jail in Solitary Confinement quarantined for (19) days. It ROYALLY sucked. I am not a frequent jail guy to say the least... a couple DUI's years ago and some petty Disturbing the Peace is all my rap sheet shows. Released from my solo cell once a day to the day room for 20 minutes I tried to use the phone to get a hold of anyone who's number I could remember. Memorize your loved ones or friends phone numbers now please. Unfortunately you will not have access to your cellular phone so you won't be able to scroll the contact list. During the current COVID19 situation my human and friend contact was very limited so I was only accountable to a couple people. None who had any reason to look for me or even be willing to help. During the 20 minutes each day I tried to use the phones in the day room. They did not work. Nor did the deputies have any involvement with them and were totally unwilling to be of any help. They said the phones are not theirs, but good luck with it, buddy. Existing only on the disgusting bag of "food" they so ungraciously provided my mind and body was deteriorating. Nineteen (19) alone and caged like an animal will make you do, think and feel crazy thoughts. Trust me, the "Bologna, carrot sticks, four (4) slices of bread, four (4) small cookies, two 2 small fruits and a milk, to which I am allergic is not that pleasant or satisfying. My water, when running working came from the same system as the toilet. Not my typical diet or drink. My twenty (20) minutes time was used digging in the trash for more food... perhaps an apple or an orange, maybe some dry cereal or a bag of squeezable peanut butter (the other jail delicacies) or seeing if anyone else I could talk with through the doors of their cell could make a call. They could not. A couple guys who seemed to be pals with the deputies could make calls and they were not my friends or willing to help either. Finally transferred to General Population I was given a working phone code from another inmate. Mine still did not work and again, no deputy help. Prepare yourself for that too. It's no joke in GP. It runs like a machine and you don't want to make a mistake, screw up or blow it in a segregated two hundred fifty (250) man dorm with your shitty metal bunk bed to lay and try to sleep on if you are lucky to even sleep.I finally was able to reach some Bail Bondsman who were able to locate my Father who was willing to bail me out at one point and post the $1,500 (10% of the $15K Bond) but that was squashed in the night by my bitter younger brother who said to let me rot and provide me with no help. Total dickhead move on his part and you are dead to me now, Bro, you shit.So I am twenty one (21) days in, lacking mental health support, on my own and hopeless, frantically calling any Bondsman that picks up.It took two (2) days and twenty-five (25) calls/companies before I reached KAZ at BAIL HOTLINE BAIL BONDS in Santa Ana, my hometown and city I resided in for 46 years. The office is at 321 E. 17th just past Santiago in Santa Ana four (4) blocks from where I grew up. You may be familiar with it as a car jumped a curb and got lodged and stuck in the 2nd story... a legendary Santa Ana history moment to say the least. Anyways, KAZ got me out with NO MONEY DOWN and on MY OWN, with BAIL HOTLINE BAIL BONDS being the only one who was willing to help. It was fast and super easy. I was out within 8 hours. I am so grateful to KAZ and BAIL HOTLINE BAIL BONDS. You should memorize their number and put some money, like $100 on book withKAZ in case YOU EVER GET CHARGED with some serious BS. Edgar and Coco were great. Friendly and informative and took time to answer all questions and make the whole process smooth and as stress free as possible. Called a few places and they were one of the few willing to do a cosigner with little to no money down, which makes the process easier for a family member to bail you out without the stress of financial risk. We did a cosigner and paid them the 10% as soon as the bail was posted and inmate released. Again, Edgar and Coco were great. They are a small business and they did a great job.
