A couple of years ago I purchased an Apple laptop from Middleton Experimax and repairs were made to another. Service was excellent and I posted positive comments. Last week I needed advice regarding one of my older laptops; I was also giving consideration to purchasing an IMac. After speaking with Henry, I bought a 27-in. IMac. Took it home, opened the box; there was a glitch. Details are not important; it was a minor miscommunication, mistakes happen. What is important to me is how a problem is resolved. Henry and I worked together to make it right. No waiting in line, no arguments, or "I'll get the manager". It was a simple, polite and professional business transaction. In the end, we shook hands. Though I did not buy another IMac that day, I will return again to Middleton Experimax in a few weeks to do so. Consumers have choices. On-line, big box, Amazon, the Apple Store etc. The above, sterile and impersonal and resolution can be difficult if a problem occurs. At Middleton Experimax you walk in and talk to the owner. My choices are based on relationships. Henry will listen (much better than I do) and work with you to meet your needs. Whether you are buying a box of screws, family gift, or computer, spend your money locally and support the businesses in your community. Yikes, I wish I could give a better review but I had some issues. On the plus side, the turnaround time was excellent and staff was pleasant. I had an Mac freeze up on me because of a faulty OS update. I was told it had to be wiped and the OS reinstalled. Although they were able to revive the Mac, a key folder was not recovered that contained important info for work. Before the wipe, I called and alerted them to the fact that these files are the ones I crucially needed and they assured me they were safe. Then they got deleted. I lost all the files, along with app preferences and other data that I am still working to set up again properly. It's been sort of a nightmare. In hindsight, I found out all the data I lost was in the User Library folder, which other repair places have told me was most definitely a main folder that should be archived before wiping a computer. I had a backup of my machine but it was manually configured ages ago and didn't catch this folder. To add insult to injury, they double charged our credit card. They did fix it as soon as we discovered it and apologized. And they forgot to return the power cord with our Mac, so had to make an extra trip out to retrieve it. read more

I was having a problem with my old MacBook Pro, 10 years old. Henry had a great price on a 2017 refurbished and gave me a great price on it plus extended warranty. As a college student, it is recommended for you to have a laptop. It's a necessity. But what happens once your laptop damages and your warranty has expired? I'll tell you what: you go to Experimac. For one, the pricing is very fair and affordable. Normally, most places ask for an arm and a leg. Secondly, they are very honest. They'll discuss the issue and give you the right advice; whether they offer to fix the device entirely or recommend for you to get a new one. (They sell pre-owned Mac computer). Lastly, they're VERY hard workers. They make enough time to work with each customer's devices and they'll get them to you as fast as possible. I had an old MacBook that constantly gave me those time consuming pinwheels and was beginning to crash. With a photo presentation for our senior group fastly approaching, I desperately needed to keep either this Mac or my photos alive. With the help of Henry and David, my photos were transferred to another macbook similar to my own but with much more memory. The price was for this MacBook was good, their service was excellent and their knowledge was priceless. I highly recommend their company for Mac product repairs and if anyone is in the market for an upgraded Mac or iPad, they have some really good deals. I had an excellent experience with the customer service from Henry and Drew and with the products purchased at Experimac. I brought in my older Macbook pro that was running very slowly and they said it was probably the hard drive. I had them replace it and the computer ran better than ever before and the price was very reasonable. I also purchased a used Macbook from them and when I decided I wanted to have a smaller and lighter model they allowed me to exchange it. I broke my screen on my new iPhone (very badly - you could see the inside of the phone) and was worried the phone was out of commission completely. Experimax came to the rescue. They were super helpful over the phone and once in the store, they fixed my screen and checked the phone all for a low price of $70. They used quality parts and were super fast. They said it would be ready in an hour and it was ready in half the time. I got my phone back in brand new condition and I was so grateful. These guys are the place to go for iPhones and macs. First I want to thank Drew for all his help! I just had my macbook pro repaired here, they went above and beyond!! I had a dead disc drive. They explained all of the options I had. They also recovered all the data on my old drive. They transfer the data to my new drive without any issues!! Did I tell you that my mac sat broken for over two years? I was extremely happy with my experience using this company. My desktop computer was not working properly and was very slow downloading most data. I was ready to scrap the computer and buy a new Mac Desktop Computer. I dealt with Drew, at the Experimac store and he offered to test my computer and determined that a simple memory upgrade was all that was needed. The machine is working great now and I saved lots of money. I also, bought a used Mac laptop from them and it is working out great. I would highly recommend this company to anybody that needs a Mac replacement or repairs to their current computer. read more

As a sysadmin who was looking for an affordable and powerful Mac, I found this shop on craigslist and highly recommend going here and will be buying from them again. The prices are more then fair and the quality is great for 5-10 year old products.There workers are smart, knowledgeable and friendly. They give you a 90 day warranty with your purchase and the only fault I had after building the Mac was the screen hinge had more flex then I would have liked, I called and brought it in the next day and they repaired it on the spot free of charge. This customer service is top notch in my opinion. They also include a great keyboard cover to keep the screen from getting your fingerprints all over it. Overall I paid a quarter of what a new MacBook is going for today and this is just as powerful if not more then the new Mac air with the ports! read more

I had a pretty good relationship with Experimax and Henry worked with me on a few issues I have had over the years with my iphone and also a former iMac I owned. Unfortunately I can no longer give a good review or recommendation here. The recent work I had done in my 2019 iMac was a SSD drive upgrade and I also maxed out my memory at the same time. This is the only time the machine has been opened up for service since I bought it. I can say the drive and memory are working well, but 6 months after having this done the glass screen is falling apart from the computer and I found out that the microphone was blocked over with the adhesive. I am unable to make a video call from my machine because no one can hear me. When I reached out to Experimax the responses I have gotten were to blame me as the customer as far as the seal coming apart and they did not address that they had not cut away a hole in the adhesive tape in order allow the microphone to work properly. I would have appreciated them working with me to honor the fact that this was not sealed properly. It would be hard to trust going forward with any more work here after this experience. Maybe this was an anomaly or fluke case but I especially did not appreciate the way I was treated. read more
