The owner was so rude to my 78 year old mother when she asked for help with a simple question. He did not explain what he had done to fix her computer problems and then expected her to pay him $100. WOW....Cannot believe the review from Dr. O....My daughter has done business with them for some time now and referred me to them last week. I called on a Sunday, left a message and they returned my call at 7am on Monday morning. I brought my laptop in on Monday as the LED was gone and my 8 year old laptop was running poorly. I also needed a new battery. He couldn't have been more accomodating and saved me lots of money by suggesting I forego the new battery as I always use it plugged in at my desk. He also had a used LED that he installed, cleaned and tuned up my laptop. It is now running like it used to and the cost was equivalent to a night out for dinner! Oh, and I had it back in less than 24 hours! I have been telling everyone I know about the amazing customer service, the quality of the workmanship and even more importantly, the honesty of the owner....he could have made a lot more money by telling me I would have to have a new screen and a new battery. I went there to have a small electronics job done as I live close by. The woman working the front counter was super helpful and friendly. Sadly the issue was with the owner. He was rude, grumpy and abrupt. He begrudgingly quoted me 5 times what I inevitably paid to have it fixed at The Tech Center at the Liberty Tree Mall, while I waited. Stephen at Digital Docs kept a confirmed lemon 2016 Dell Inspiron running long past expectations. Last week the laptop finally died beyond resurrection = the lithium battery melted down - literally melted down - of all the annoying Windows 10 pop up messages you would think "battery seizing temp alert, power off now" might be a noteworthy addition. So i bought a new laptop within hours and Lee worked with me to help ensure that Stephen re-loaded the backed up desktop, files, apps, etc. They called me when i got back to my desk for a remote session to tweak some settings and were thoughtful about following up and ensuring i was good to go. My daughter's Mac book Pro had an unfortunate encounter with a glass of wine. She wanted me to get her photos off her hard drive and I needed a hard drive enclosure. None of the major stores had then in the stores and I would have had to order one on line. I called two other Marblehead computer repair stores. One was busy and the other said take it to the Apple Store. Digital Docs said that they could sell me a hard disk enclosure. the price was very reasonable. My hard drive crashed,it was my third time at this business for service.. i was told by the owner and the office manager the job would be $300.00(quote)"AT THE MOST".(unquote)..so when i had spoken to them 4 or 5 times over a day and a half and nothing else was ever said about the price and i went to pick it up i was handed a bill for $441.00...when i questioned the amount and what they had both quoted me the owner came out of the back in a rage, totally snapped, swore and screamed at me...i paid the full amount and left in complete shock at the way i had been spoken too...they tried to apologize, but i was so upset! He sent me a card a couple days later apologizing with a 100.00 bill(still not the full overcharged amount)...unfortunately you just can't undo some things...i would drive to Connecticut to get my computer serviced before i'd ever go back there again :( read more

What a life saver!!!!! What are the odds of having both your internal and external hard drives both crash at the same time.Well mine did on my Mac and I lost my iPhoto library which contained some 13000 pictures. I brought my mac to the mac genius bar and they were unable to retrieve my iPhoto library. A friend of mine told me about Digital Docs in Marblehead, I called them and spoke with Steve the owner who was very courteous to me and explained my dilemma. Steve said that he thought he might be able to recover my lost iPhoto data. Not only did he recover all 13000 photos but he did it in such a quick time always keeping me informed via e-mail as to the status of my repair. Thank you so much Steve for saving my life Lol. I have used the digital docs three times and will never go there again. Every time I have been into the shop I have been made to feel like I was in the way and not a valued customer. The owner Stephen has a very rude demeanor and even hung up on me once when I expressed that I was annoyed that he had charged me for service without first giving me a quote for the work.
