This year--our third year using their services--we were charged nearly double what we paid the previous year. When we questioned the increase, we were told that the prior pricing was not reflective of their standard rates. They did issue a partial refund of around $100, but the situation still raised concerns. Additionally, we were assigned a new tax preparer this year, which made the significant increase in cost even more surprising. Every year I had the same CPA, she retired and then they shuffled me around to different CPAs all of them not able to follow the tax strategy we had set up over 10 years ago and my liability increased every year. This last one was outrageous as they filed a return off of a P&L statement for a completely different business I own. Then I got charged over 2k for them to do all this. Found a local small guy charged me 200 for personal, 150 for each business and I tipped him about 500 for the trouble he eliminated which is incite. At the beginning they treated me like a trusted partner then that quickly moved into I'm a number on someone's spreadsheet. To top all that off I got zero communication for months on end...never filed my 2025 return and it's Sept2026...thank heavens I found a replacement.
