Chuck is quick to make promises but sadly he never delivers on them. We hired him for a rather urgent tree removal that was impeding progress on a construction project. Chuck was out to bid on the job within the hour (wow right?), agreed to a reasonable price, and scheduled. And then he cancelled. And cancelled again. And ultimately said we probably should just hire someone else. So we did - we hired Immanuel's Tree Service and couldn't have been more pleased with the professionalism and price provided by them. Do yourself a favor, don't waste time with the quick bidders that never deliver. Hire someone who actually wants to work for you - it's not Chuck. read more

Fair, fast, and communicative. I bought a house that needed tree removal due to invasive roots near the sewer and water lines. I called Expert Tree Service and immediately scheduled an appointment for a quote. Chuck came out to assess the tree and seemed very knowledgeable. He was able to identify the tree and assess that the tree indeed needed removal. His quote was very fair, and he scheduled removal of the tree and stump grinding for about a week later. On the day of removal, he called when the crew was at the house. By the time I met the crew there thirty minutes later, they had already safely removed the tree and were grinding down the stump. I'm very happy with their services. They also do drought-tolerant landscaping, and although I have experience with native landscaping myself, I am definitely considering getting a quote from them for turf removal, pathing installation, etc. when I start landscaping my new home. Very unreliable and unprofessional company After rescheduling the job date, the morning the crew showed up, they tried to weasel out of the job with a BS story that where the flags were placed for utility lines were too close to the biggest tree out front. So I told them to leave, I don't need their kind of services On a hunch, I followed them and wouldn't you know, they double booked my job with someone else's!! We had a tree fall in our backyard and it was leaning on the garage. Thank goodness there wasn't any structure damage. Chuck and crew came with all the necessary tools cleared out the fallen tree and cleared a few others along with some poisonous plants we didn't know were poisonous. They even chopped up the trees into firewood and left neat stacks. We felt the price was fair and a good deal. We would definitely hire Expert tree service again. read more

Happy with the service we received. Charles came out the same day to give us a reasonable quote and kept his appointment even though the previous day, there was a wind storm that I am sure kept them very busy. It would have been perfectly acceptable if they called to ask if they could postpone due to emergency clean ups, but no need, they showed up the day of their appointment with a crew. We had around 17 large trees trimmed, roots trimmed, and misc other work. Everything was completed the same day, cleaned up well, and it looked beautiful. Excellent company!!! I had several trees and tree stumps that were hanging out in my yard because I simply did not have time to remove them. I was worried that it would cost an excessive amount to remove the trees, but was interested to see that this was a family run business and gave them a call. Chuck came over an hour later and gave me an extremely reasonable quote. Chuck's crew actually came ahead of time to remove the tree and worked extremely hard and professionally to accomplish the job. I talked to Chuck over the phone and we set up a meet at my house to remove a tree on my property, he gave me a price and I called him back the next day to give this business a chance to do it, at that point we agreed on a date almost 2 weeks later. I was very surprised when he called me a few days before they were supposed to come to cut the tree to tell me that he couldn't do it for his original price and told me that if I wanted him to do the job it would be $1500.00 more. What could I say here except Thanks for wasting my time and your dishonesty but no thanks? He was always talking about his prices changing right from the start but I thought our price was set. You might want to watch out for Chuck's fluctuating prices, all I wanna know is what changed in a few days giving him the right to jack up the price like that? AGAIN THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME. One star, only because I could not give zero. I don't even know where to begin regarding the unprofessional, and extremely disrespectful experience that I had with Charles Ennis and Expert (laughable) Tree Service. Through Angie's List, I requested a tree removal service. Charles Ennis, from Expert Tree Service called, and during the conversation, we recalled that he had provided us with a very high estimate last year,?when we removed two trees (done by another company). Charles Ennis then began yelling and screaming, stating that we cost him $35, and were "assholes, and lived in the ghetto." My husband tried to explain to him that we did not call him, he called us. He continued with his tirade, telling us that he knows where we live. My husband ended the call. A few hours later, on returning from the grocery store, I saw that Charles Ennis had entered my property, and left his business card stuck on my front door. I immediately reported this to the police, as he had no right trespassing in my property. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Unethical, racist, and disgusting! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Expert Tree Service. They have been a family-owned and operated business since 1950 and their operation includes not just decades of expertise but also quality of work, efficiency and equipment comparable to that of a big business. I called Charles aka Chuck, the owner, and he came the same day. He presented his contractor's license as well as his insurance information, cautioning against working with someone lacking these due to the risk of you as the homeowner becoming liable in case of an accident. Chuck provided my husband and I with a surprisingly reasonable estimate given the size of our backyard and the amount of tree...problems...we had. Instead of giving us a hard dollar amount per item (tree, brush clearing, etc), Chuck worked with us and our budget to provide an estimate for a comprehensive job. We have some sickly looking Italian Cypress trees we thought would have to be cut down and instead got medicated and may be saved, as well as 2 fruit trees we didn't even know needed medication. We have a glorious elm we were saddened to believe would also need to go due to damage to concret and the wall, but when Chuck saw it he instead proposed installing a root barrier and trimming up the tree to reduce stress and water competition, protect the brick wall and improve the aesthetics. This was something my dad had mentioned a year back and at that moment I knew Expert Tree Service would be my tree go-to for life. They went above and beyond including trimming out-of-control rosemary to expose a beautiful palm we didn't even know we had, pushing large amounts of stray crushed brick back into place along our basketball court, trimming a palm in the front yard (all the work was for the back yard) and even helping us dispose of a wood box the trash service refused to take.
