I went in for a cut and a color and it turned out amazing! My hair was already super long and already bleached but it was uneven so I wanted them to do a retouch. The whole process took about 4 hours. Even though it was long, everyone is super friendly and it was an enjoyable experience. My hair feels super healthy still despite it being bleached again. Ask for Phuong, she is such a sweetheart!

I love my hair so much. Phuong is the best! She always has her magic!

I showed Phuong the inspo pic and she nailed it. I love my hair so much. Phuong always has her magic!

Phuong cut my hair and I left IN LOVE! I hadn't let anyone touch my hair in 4 years! I'm so happy with how beautiful she left my hair. Healthy, layers, and still kept the length. I will continue to come back for all my hair cuts and trims! I also got my nails done and they look gorgeous!

Owners, Paul and Phuong are excellent at what they do!!!! Paul cuts my hair and Phuong colors it, along with pedicures and brow waxing. They keep me looking younger than I am;) They also run a Beauty School. Give them a try!

Found this little gem entirely by accident - being peeved at I5 south brake lights, I escaped up the hill....glancing at my rearview mirror I spotted a Yeti. Wait, that's me. Find wax on/off now. I looked up while on Beacon and there was Expo behind B of A. I sauntered into a hive of busy people buffing, cutting and painting...it took a minute to get noticed. But when that magic moment happened, there was a genuine smile + polite gesture to wait on the pleather couch. I sat and enjoyed Sunset and within minutes I was on the paper covered tableau with a quiet student lulling me to relaxation, albeit ripping skin and hair out of my face. She gently handed me a little mirror and was amazed at the shaping she managed. Efficiency was key, and her method was as good, or better, than the $35 Belltown version. When I got to the counter, they advised me it was 5 bucks :D They did need to cross the street with my credit card (the owner has a 'legit' salon there) Signed my slip, tipped double, and drove away into faster traffic with a snarkier looking annoyed right eyebrow raise. I've already been back for de-furring of the brows since my initial finding, and will continue to patronize this pleasant Beacon Hill spot.

In love with my new hair! :)

I got my hair cut and dyed from the owners, Paul and Phuong. I showed them a picture of what I exactly wanted and got it! My hair went from dead black hair to a beautiful brown/blonde balayage! I can't even express how much I love my new hair. I also enjoyed how they gave me hair tips! On top of that, they had awesome costumer service. Everyone was kind and welcoming! Sadly, I'm not from the Seattle area but I will definitely be back! :) Thank you Paul and Phuong!!! :)

Owie.... They cut me THREE TIMES:(

Only 2 stars because I don't want to punish the student and it's not the students fault she was POORLY trained otherwise I'd say ONE star. I was cut 3 times during my pedicure and she kept putting this blue liquid on it in hopes of stopping the bleeding. This all happened because she forgot an important step... Cuticle softener! Ouch. She was pushing my poor cuticles way down to the point of pain and THEN cut me while trying to "clean it up" . After many successful attempts to stop the bleeding (yes, it was cut that badly) she said "wow, you must have really sensitive skin!' (I was in disbelief....) The worst part was she told me she just received certification from the state and had to fulfill 200 more hours. I hope those hours will help her so that others can avoid this. I had planned on getting a manicure too but made up an excuse that I had a text come in and had to go so I didn't have to subject my fingers to the same pain as my poor toes:( THEN...the instructor came downstairs to perhaps, oh I don't know... Check the work maybe? Actually. it was just to finish my polish so that the student could move onto the haircut client, who'd been waiting there for a 1/2 hour watching me wince and make comments about bleeding. She was a brave one! I wouldn't have stayed! The messed up thing is that the instructor CLEARLY had to have seen the evidence of the poorly executed pedicure (dried bloody cuticles) while she was painting my toes but said NOTHING and also would've forgotten the clear base coat on the second foot had I not reminded her and then..... The icing on the cake.... I asked how much and she said TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS! What? My regular place that I couldn't get into that day is $17! How is a bad student pedicure and a non attentive instructor worth $25? I get it... First world problems, I know but do yourself a huge favor and don't come here.

I came here about a week ago to get a manicure because I recently took off my acrylics and my nails became weak and very fragile. A student name Chika made my nails look brand new and healthy while they are still recovering. And it was only $7, what a steal ! I recommend this place not only for their service but for anyone who wants to join Expo because they are very flexible and make sure you are in good hands. I will definitely be coming back.

Such a great deal. I didn't know anywhere offered $5 haircuts! Done by students but the teachers are constantly walking around and doing checks to make sure it looks professional in the end.

My hair stylist Sophia was very attentive to my request and careful in washing, cutting, and styling. The instructor checked constantly and made a few small changes to my layers. I recommended thinning since my hair quickly grows thick, and Sophia immediately fixed the cut. For the quality, price, and attention to detail, the haircut was amazing. The only downside is the long appointment time (I finished near 5:30), but it was understandable since the students needed to check their plan and each step with the instructor. I would 100% come back and recommend customers here.

Once I was eventually taken in. It took over 40 minutes after the consultation for the student to begin working on my hair because they were still writing notes and preparing their sheet. The service itself felt inconsistent and poorly managed. I understand this is a training environment, but there seemed to be a lack of structure and time management throughout. My color turned out chunky and stripy, and it was very obvious that at least two different people worked on my hair because my original stylist needed assistance mid way through the coloring. One side came out significantly more orange than the other, and it honestly looked like I had months of grown-out color. After my hair was washed, I was told they "didn't have time" to finish with a blowout. Instead, I was given a card for a complimentary blow dry for another visit, which I was fine with and they said we'd do a rough dry. Since it was 6, which was closing time the instructor stepped in to "rough dry" my hair. There was no product and they did a few passes. I left with my hair about 90% wet. I was shocked that they allowed me to leave the appointment in that condition. Not until I went home and fully dried my hair was when I noticed that my hair cut was uneven. My original 1 PM appointment didn't end until around 6:15 PM. I later emailed them about the experience and, after escalating it with multiple people, they brought me back 2 days later for a correction appointment, which took about 3 hours. I'm still not fully happy with the result, but it will have to do for now while my hair recovers from being processed twice within 48 hours. Overall, I would strongly advise having very low expectations. I would not recommend getting your hair colored here. A simple trim might be okay, but even that feels like a gamble depending on who you get.

For my second appointment, I honestly didn't realize I would be expected to have my camera on. I wasn't told ahead of time that it was required, and in my past virtual meetings with other colleges or any other virtual appointments, it had never been an issue. Unfortunately, I happened to be in the middle of dyeing my hair and had a face mask on, so I was embarrassed to turn my camera on. I apologized multiple times and took full responsibility for not being prepared. Instead of feeling understood, I felt like the conversation became focused on why I wasn't turning my camera on. The admissions representative repeatedly said she was uncomfortable because my camera was off and continued bringing up that I had already rescheduled once. It made me feel like I was being judged or viewed with suspicion rather than treated as a prospective student. When I explained that I was simply embarrassed about how I looked, I didn't feel like my explanation was acknowledged. I asked if we could reschedule, and although she said she would message me to set up another appointment, I never received any follow-up. This interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and very unwelcome. I understand professionalism goes both ways, and I accept responsibility for not being camera-ready. However, I also believe there could have been more understanding and empathy in handling the situation. As someone genuinely interested in the school, this first impression has unfortunately made me reconsider attending.
