My hair stylist Sophia was very attentive to my request and careful in washing, cutting, and styling. The instructor checked constantly and made a few small changes to my layers. I recommended thinning since my hair quickly grows thick, and Sophia immediately fixed the cut. For the quality, price, and attention to detail, the haircut was amazing. The only downside is the long appointment time (I finished near 5:30), but it was understandable since the students needed to check their plan and each step with the instructor. I would 100% come back and recommend customers here.

Once I was eventually taken in. It took over 40 minutes after the consultation for the student to begin working on my hair because they were still writing notes and preparing their sheet. The service itself felt inconsistent and poorly managed. I understand this is a training environment, but there seemed to be a lack of structure and time management throughout. My color turned out chunky and stripy, and it was very obvious that at least two different people worked on my hair because my original stylist needed assistance mid way through the coloring. One side came out significantly more orange than the other, and it honestly looked like I had months of grown-out color. After my hair was washed, I was told they "didn't have time" to finish with a blowout. Instead, I was given a card for a complimentary blow dry for another visit, which I was fine with and they said we'd do a rough dry. Since it was 6, which was closing time the instructor stepped in to "rough dry" my hair. There was no product and they did a few passes. I left with my hair about 90% wet. I was shocked that they allowed me to leave the appointment in that condition. Not until I went home and fully dried my hair was when I noticed that my hair cut was uneven. My original 1 PM appointment didn't end until around 6:15 PM. I later emailed them about the experience and, after escalating it with multiple people, they brought me back 2 days later for a correction appointment, which took about 3 hours. I'm still not fully happy with the result, but it will have to do for now while my hair recovers from being processed twice within 48 hours. Overall, I would strongly advise having very low expectations. I would not recommend getting your hair colored here. A simple trim might be okay, but even that feels like a gamble depending on who you get.

I have been a client for about a year and have always been greeted with a warm friendly hello. I highly recommend to anyone (client and students in training) I am beyond grateful that Vuu's was recommended to me by a friend. Such a great salon with reasonable, affordable prices and phenomenal results each and every time. I will see you soon. Kevin

I was visiting Seattle and decided to come to this salon because I heard really good reviews online…read moreand on tiktok, honestly, worst mistake. Obviously, I understand it is a beauty school and the people there are students but as you walk in there is a sign that states something to the effect of all students are being supervised by the licensed stylist. This could not be further off. I asked for a blowout, she applied product incorrectly and was then corrected by a fellow student- by the way my hair was completely weighed down by this product and i'm not even entirely sure it had heat protectant. I have long and thick hair but i get blowouts pretty regularly and never faced a problem, she started attempting with her round brush and got the brush tangled in my hair several times. She eventually told me my hair needed a cut at the ends bc it thins out -- i have layers so of course it thins it. I did not come in for a cut and again never faced this issue before. I respectfully declined the haircut and she reattempted, eventually said she does not think it will come out right. After already being frustrated by this, I just asked her to do blowdry and straighten because how could you mess that up. She proceeded to rough dry my hair and then suggest to curl my hair, at this point, I just wanted her to do something she was confident in doing because blow drying certainly was not it. Mind you, the entire time there was minimal to no supervision from the head beautician. While my hair was still wet she began curling it, i literally heard the crunch. I asked her "is my hair still wet" and she said "yeah a bit." After a prolonger period of time and much frustration, i asked if she could get some help in finishing my hair because it was taking forever. Her colleague assisted and advised her to finish drying my hair because it was still too wet. After way too much product and a terrible experience later, we finally finished. I paid and wanted to leave as soon as possible. I understand students still learning but completely drying someone's hair prior to using heat is common sense. Additionally, there was literally no superivison in sight. I would literally never recommend this place, it was the worst experience. After posting this review on google, the owner responded saying my review was not true and she was supervising. While she was the one who washed my hair which was the only good part by the way, the remainder of the experience went as I stated above. She claims she was supervising however she seemed to be giving individuals a tour of the establishment rather than actually paying attention when the stylist was so clearly struggling.
